Shari-amor | 5275 comments If I'm not working or in school then about 6 to 8 hours. Not necessarily in one sitting. If I am busy, I try to get in between 3 to 4 hours of reading. The majority of this reading is done in the wee hours of the night because I have no pressing matters and no one is harassing me

message 1702: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Ill harass you!

message 1703: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hmm, I think maybe I spend 4 hours total reading a day. Two hours in the wee early hours and two during the later part of the morning around 9 to 11 when I let the dog out and feed her breakfast. But definitely would love to commit maybe 6 hours or so without any distractions if I could.

message 1704: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments dont really have time to read during the day. when i do read its usually late at night for a few hours, more or less.

How much time during the day to you read or would like to commit to reading?"

more than I currently do. Stupid internet, I can only do one thing, chat with friends or read.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question: How often do you have family night!?

message 1709: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Um, every night? Living at homes makes every night/day family something or other.

message 1710: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Well, my family is my hubby, my cat and I. So yeah, we have family night almost every night as well, only when hubby works till 6 in the morning it is no family night. :( Marvin is stretched out next to me and hubby is resting in the recliner. I am on the couch and do my lappy thingy.

message 1711: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments No family nights for me. It is just me at home now. Little over a year ago when my hubby was still around, pretty much every night was family night. Was still just the two of us, but that is also the reason i have no real social life to speak of now.

Ocassionaly have our family get togethers and we are planing a cousin's night out. (well planning for the last year or so..LOL) And i still see the in-laws often (just attended a wedding last weekend with them). Also do Thanksgivig and Christmas with them in addition to my family still.

message 1712: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Well most people know I stay alone with my lovely Lola but my mommas family lives in the area. I'm not much for family time with them but I go to at least one family function every couple of moments. I don't like being around them too much drama and its exhausting. I have a movie and tequila night with gma every week. And a game night with grandparents and lil cousin every couple of weeks. Them I do adore.

message 1713: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments ***months, not moments. stupid phone >.<

message 1714: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question: How technology savvy are you!? Are you always ready to try out the latest and greatest tech gadgets or do you find yourself overwhelmed (or maybe with no desire) in learning about all the new gizmos!?

message 1715: by Manuela (last edited Sep 12, 2013 06:45AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I am still trying to keep up at a moderate pace. I was pretty late with my first mobile/cell, I had an old computer only for a few months and just recently (in the last three years) I have become the proud and happy owner of my lappy (laptop). I have been at facebook and now that I have a "smart"phone I am even able to read your comments when You are awake. But I shouldn't do so as officially I am actually working. ;)

message 1716: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Sooo not tech savvy at all. I mean I try and keep up on latest stuff with regards to my computer somewhat. Like in regards to wireless mouses and lap top cooling pads. But phones and ereader type of upgrades, no can do. Too expensive for one and as they are always changing, just causes me to lose interest in learning about them and keeping up.

message 1717: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments i used to luv technology. i can grasp it fairly easily but i dislike a good many things that have changed in technology. it's just gone down hill so much.

message 1718: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I love technology. I can hold my own trying to figure out how to use something. I think my knowledge is a bit basic. As far as gizmos, I love ereaders, fan of kobo. I stay up-to-date on those. I love the new cell phones that come out, but I'm pretty loyal to a phone until its completely unusable, buttons no longer work or screen is completely damaged. I don't just go out and buy the latest cells.

New Question: If you could put together a concert, what singers/bands would you have play!? They could be dead or alive, if a band together or separated!

message 1719: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh man that would be easy. All of TLC, Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Alicia Keyes, NSYNC, Gerald Levert, Temptations, and last but never least Miss Patti Labelle!!!

message 1720: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: If you could be re-born as a famous person, singer, dancer, athlete, actor/actress, musician, etc. Who would you want to be and why? Also would you use the money you earn for worthwhile causes or would you find the nearest Prada store and charge it like never before?

message 1721: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments I would want to be the famous actress. For sure. I want to see my name in lights! Lol. I would give some to charity for sure while making myself a nice comfy living.

message 1722: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments NEW QUESTION OF THE DAY:

If you were to describe your best friend in one word, what would it be and why?

message 1723: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Old Question- I would so love to be a dancer. Finally get some rhythm in these stiff hips of mine, haha.

New Question- Challenging. B/c he makes me think out of the box, even when I don't want to and fight it. But I know it is more than good for me.

message 1724: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I also would have loved to been a famous dancer. A contemporary dancer as a matter of fact.

Accepting. That woman will let anyone into her life and heart. Doesn't matter how flawed you are or how others perceive you. I don't have to tone myself down or hide parts of myself, she loves who I am.

message 1725: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments My BFF...hmm....I guess i would have to go with twisted. She can be very vocal and if something is wrong or you piss her off, everyone knows about it. Will say it how she sees it, consequenses be dammed (and i am surprised she has never ended up in jail or in a fight. LOL) At the same time, she does not want everyone to see/know that side of her and can be very quite and non-expressive at times. And yes, twised also describes our sense of humor.

message 1726: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Outspoken.

message 1727: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question: Does your reading interfere with your life!? Has it ever caused you any trouble!?

message 1728: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments yeah, all the time. I leave everything to the last minute because I am reading all the time and then I can't read because I have to do all the other stuff... So annoying that life interferes all the time...

message 1729: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea more like trouble to my wallet, lol. And when I was younger when I was lagging in doing my chores. But beyond that no major trouble with my reading. Just the money and finding enough time to do it.

message 1730: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments most definitely rofl. always was squeezing in way more than i should x.x.

message 1731: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments Stayed up way too late last night to finish Styxx. That is usually my issue; i will read all day/night and not do the things i should be. Like cleaning the house, laundry, making my lunch for work the next day... But that really depends on the book and what i have to do sometimes.

message 1732: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: Recently, as in just this morning, I came across a little Yahoo article on none other than David Tutera and his husband of X amount of years are getting divorced do to his ex-hubs saying that David is a sex addict. For those of you who don't know David, he is this big deal wedding planner and has had a tv show, My Fair Wedding on since forever(and I did actually love his ideas and style). He's even done some talkshows as well talking about party planning ideas. But the real shocker is that the couple has a new set of infant twins that they plan on splitting up in the divorce as well. One will go with David and the other the husband.

So the question is, could you ever consider/foresee yourself and your significant other dividing up the children if you ever got divorced? Hypothetically speaking if you have no children or a spouse. Also does it matter if the children are infants? A set of multiples? Or for that matter not old enough to speak their mind about the decision? Speak on it.

message 1733: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments theres no way i could split them up o_o. i'd rather take turns with the kids than split them up tbh, no matter how old they are. it actually does matter when they're infants. taking a parent out of the equation doesn't affect them the same as someone older but it still has an affect on things. for children its the parents responsibilities to do whats best for them imo. esp at that age. they come first.

message 1734: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I wouldn't dream of doing something like that either. That really blew me away reading that this morning. I mean he always seemed like such a smart guy. So to have read that they plan on splitting up their kids that way is just wow and devastating to me. On top of that, the bond of twins is so strong from what I've always read. To separate them would be super hard. Even worse though is splitting them up as infants. Cause how in the world do you ensure that the babies are getting the right formulas and stuff when the babies are being switched between households. And even on top of that, are the kids just going to be passing ships in the night? Meaning each parent gets to see the other kid they don't have regularly. But will the twins themselves actually spend any time together?

message 1735: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments it is a sad thing. and ure right. i really dont know how they could split them up like that o_o. hopefully the babies will have time together instead of growing up like strangers so to speak

message 1736: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: Is it ever possible to read too much? Apparently it is for this young 5 time reading champ: http://www.today.com/books/librarian-...

message 1739: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I discovered that article the other nite and have to say that is just so wrong for that kid to catch flack cause he is a real reading go getter. That librarian should have been ashamed of herself. Should have actually came up with a contest with different book amounts and levels. No need to shame a 9 year old for loving to read.

New Question- Ever had a neighbor from hell? What did you do about them? Or have YOU ever been the hellish neighbor?

message 1740: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments I've got a bad neighbour now, wish I knew what to do!!

message 1741: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments How ridiculous is this, banning him for winning 5 years in a row? ~just shaking my head in disbelieve~

Maybe they shouldn't have it as a contest if they can't handle that someone is really into reading. Or they should have a big price for the winner and enough little prices for everyone else who participated. Sad, sad, sad, especially when every other government tries to get their youngsters to actually read.

I think we might have them. Next door is like a revolving door and there are now tenants number 5 in there. Young lads, I believe. One of the guys can't drive his car properly into their driveway. He parks it with the tip and I believe one of the tires on our side. Not sure if I should confront them about it.

message 1742: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments we've been beyond fortunate to not have massively bad neighbors. some of them werent the greatest ever but they werent so bad that it caused drama so to speak.

message 1743: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Yea that is what I was thinking as well in regards to having different levels of the competition for the kids. Like if you do 5 books you get a prize at that level. 10 or so get a prize. And anything above 20 is a prize too.

message 1744: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (last edited Sep 21, 2013 02:32PM) (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I'm the neighbor from hell. I'm not rude or anything like that but I have a dog. A huge, loud dog and she's constantly running through the apartment and barking. She's very outgoing and people friendly. If someone is walking past the window or the screen door, she'll jump up and start barking because she wants to get your attention to play with her. She always thinks its playtime. And since she's a night owl like me, she barks at night too. Yeah there have been a lot of complaints :-(

Carlena | 1753 comments NEW QUESTION OF THE DAY:

If you could be any dinosaur for a whole day which one would you be and why?

message 1746: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments P******tactyl (don't know how to spell it properly), because I will fly through the sky and see all the other dinosaurs and how ear.th is from up in the clouds.

message 1747: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh good question Care bear. I think I would want to be the type of dragon that had that like fan thingie that came up around it's neck in Jurassic Park. And had the venom.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question: There was a recent story about a family that was kicked out of an Applebees at 10 pm because their 1 and 3 year old were unruly. Click HERE for the full story. Do you agree with the restaurant's decision!? Do you think restaurants should have an age restriction for children at certain times in the evening!?

message 1750: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Nice. I think I did see them on a Animal planet special once too. Kind of a hoot to me how wide the skin stretches out like that.
