@ new question: definitely not something i would wish for myself and/or my significant other.

message 1352: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I've been to bachelorette parties with and without strippers. And I prefer without which is funny since I like strip clubs but some women can get extremely bold and gross when your in a private setting. So the answer is no for me at least not for a bachelor/bachelorette party. Thats something I'd prefer we'd be in on that together because your friends can pressure or talk you into doing things that you normally wouldnt do at these events.

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Dhfan4life wrote: "On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most rude and 1 being the least how would you rate each of these situations on a scale of how rude they are?

1. Someone interrupting you when you are talking

2. Someone gawking at a mother breastfeeding in public

3. Someone using a cell phone in the movie theater

4. Someone chewing with their mouth open or smacking their lips while eating

5. Someone not holding the door open to the elevator when they see you coming around the corner with your arms filled with groceries or helping an elderly relative
..."

1. that depends on my mood, when I am in a normal conversation, I can deal with it so it would be a 2-3, when I am in a heated discussion it is more a 7-9 especially when I had to listen to the other persons arguments first but then don't get a say.

2. 1-2, I would probably be the one gawking, I find it fascinating but I haven't really seen it before. A lot of women I have seen in public do cover up. Anyone up for letting me watch??? ;)

3. I get annoyed at any disturbance when I watch movies, especially in the movie theatre. Mobile phones are a pest but I haven't really had a bad experience. More annoying are parents who let their kids play and run around and don't give a s..., therefore I would kind of put it around 4-5.

4. Well, I don't like it but I have caught myself talking with a mouth full so that kind of seems the same. Hubby is a pig, does it on purpose to piss me off but it doesn't work. I am pretty resilient when it comes to gross behaviour. So it's a 5.

5. 9-10 definitively, been on the receiving end more than I can count and find it disturbing that the youth of today is not raised to being polite and helpful. A shame, as we have been and it hasn't done any damage to us.

I find it weird and think that most of the time the B/B are quite ashamed and/or disturbed as this may be something one does not in front of other people. As well, it seems dangerous to do something that may end up being told to ones spouse/intended and may cause trouble in paradise or even an end of the relationship. If I want a hot guy (are they really goodlooking or does that only happen in movies???) half or totally naked on my lap I don't want my friends and/or family members (female) to watch.
In Germany we don't celebrate the last day of freedom with a stripper. We have other "traditions" (more or less annoying). I was clever, I skipped that part. Hubby and my brother went out for a drink the night before (but only so that he could be warned about me!). They all warned him, to make sure he doesn't want to return me to my family, LOL.

message 1355: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Manuela, I never even took that into account lol. Having strippers in front of family. Was only thinking about friends and now that you mention, it would be strange with my sisters, cousins and aunts. I'd be horrified in their presence with a stripper in tow.

message 1356: by Valerie (last edited Aug 08, 2013 08:01AM) (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments First question:
1 - 3ish - happens at work all the time to everyone. Kinda used to that happening (which i am sure is a sad sign of the times)
2 - 8-9; its not a big deal. Get over yourself!
3 - 10+; this also includes texting. I don't go often, but i see more texting than talking.
4 - 4ish - I have nieces and a new nephew. Not much bothers me there anymore.
5 - 9-10. It would depend on where I was and what was happening. Now if you ask me about someone standing directly in front of the doors and not moving to let someone off before they attempt to get on the elevator..11+! Happens at work all the time.

2nd question - bachelor/ette parties with or w/o strippers: for some, yes. Depends on the person. Fore me personally, not much interested. My cousin had one and i was not really into it. Now, going to a club w/food, drinks and hot men that take it off? Sure! Nothing wrong with nice eye candy and a good time. I am not dead afterall. The gods know guys never stop looking (like ever) so why should i? I can look...but don't touch.

same here shari. O_O that's a really awkward and weird thought. knowing my mom had gone to a strip place once with family was scarring enough for me LOL.

Only time i have 'experienced' a stripper was my cousin's bachelorette party. Family did not seem to be around too much (well, her sister, me and i think one other cousin). It was actually not that akward but then, that is the party side of the family and we hung out lots. Yeah..that is how i confirmed not for me. He was not that bad looking but not "hot" like in the movies. LOL

i was in the same room when i found out about her and her cousin (and her cousin's daughters) going so they didnt really have to tell me rofl e.e. it was so awkward. i have no idea if they invited me or not but i pray they didnt LOLLL.

LOL valerie!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments You ladies make some good points. Particularly when in relation to mothers and other more older relatives going to strip places and the like. I honestly can't see my mother or any of my female relatives actually going to a strip place or would even wish to be around strippers at all.

Also good point on doing things that most wouldn't normally do in such a situation. But at the same time, that makes me think would that be the right person to marry in the first place if they caved to pressure to do something they normally wouldn't.

However for myself, I guess I have a bit of a YOLO/daring in me to want to experience it at least once. Admittedly not in the mindset of having some dude's junk being thrust in my face a lot. But just for an what the heck experience. I also don't think I would mind if my significant other had a lap dance or something at the bachelor party. I think it would only be a big deal if he caved to peer pressure and did something more just to please his friends instead of stepping back and stopping that situation.

LOL u could of went with my mom then! kidding rofl i'd feel horrid for u if u were with her and her fam

message 1364: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments This is how bad my mom is. We saw Magic Mike together and folks know how hot those actors were in that. But she said she was only into it for Channing Tatum's ability to dance. Was literally yelling at the screen "Go White boy, Go white boy!" lol. THAT is my mom's response to a stripper flick. So I can just imagine her in a strip place. Talking major BS but not even being there for the purpose of being into it.

message 1365: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments LMAO omg thats hilarious. O_O id die if i watched that with my mom. ure so brave! haha

message 1366: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh that is still mild. We have watched Queer as Folk, L Word, and now True Blood together. So on some level I've gotten used to seeing such things with her. But at the same time it's still like "MOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!" lol.

message 1367: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (cassiemo9) | 818 comments Bwahahahaha that sounds hilarious D. I would have loved to be in the theatre for that.

message 1368: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh thankfully we were at home and watching it on the home tv. If we were in the theater I would have totally flung the popcorn at her. But heck come to think of it, if we were at the movie theater she'd likely have been asleep so I wouldn't have to waste the goodies lol.

Oh no. I have seen a few things too far in sci-fi flicks with popz. I pretend super, super, hard that there is not any sexy scenes and that whatever I'm looking at on my computer screen is the most amazing thing I've ever seen and am working on.

thats what i used to do with my laptop LOL! unfortunately now i dont have a laptop when im with him so a really short scene seems to last forever rofl. some stuff isnt as bad as others ofc.

message 1373: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments True. I just think what makes it worse with me and popz is how openly and robustly religious he is all the time. Makes it seem even worse at times. As I don't know if he is going to turn his nose up at something. Or burst out with "that is the devil there" or something else crazy like that.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question- Do you have any food trucks in your area? If so, have you ever bought anything from them/do you visit them often? Or as a special treat every now and then?

message 1375: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yes! I love the food trucks here. They're all up and down the bay area. Really common here. Theres one comes to my job every morning around 11 and has the best fries and sandwiches. I love it. And Chen always tries to have strawberry yogurt, cranberry juice and fresh pineapples cause she knows I really love em

message 1376: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That is awesome Shari. I've been watching the food channel, so naturally this question was borne from my gut that is growling at this hour, lol. But that is truly great you get to experience them there. Here they have talked about it. But they won't let them come into Columbus do to sanitation issues. And likely over crowding of the streets. Even worse it said in the paper that if they were to even consider seriously the idea of them coming to Columbus, all the food had to be pre-packaged and sold that way and not cooked on the truck. Which would wig me out even more. Cause at least you can see the folks cooking in front of you. Pre-packaging just makes me wonder what anyone could put in there.

message 1377: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments pre packaged!? But why!? I think there would be more sanitation issues , preparing and cooking the food elsewhere (like you said with risk of something being put into them) and then sitting in the truck all day.I know Chen says most ppl prepare their trucks around 4am (getting supplies or whatever else they need) and arrive at their first destinations around 630 am and the day ends around 430 pm, sometimes later depending on the area.

message 1378: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments Dhfan4life wrote: "New Question- Do you have any food trucks in your area? If so, have you ever bought anything from them/do you visit them often? Or as a special treat every now and then?"

no food trucks here aside from a very questionable mexican food truck in the city (idk if by here u meant city or state, sorry e.e).

I guess they feel it would be safer if the food was already cooked up and not being cooked on dirty grills and stuff on the truck all day. Their idea of keeping things clean and safe. But would really seem silly to me. All that extra work and as you said to have it sitting on the truck all day like that too. Just gross.

Oh I meant in general in your state or city, Jennifer. So no worries.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments what's the weirdest thing yall have ever saw?

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea, on a food truck or are you talking in general here Ray?

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments generaly speaking

message 1384: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hard to answer as I've seen plenty of weird things.

Possums in the city, what looked like a face in a tree stump once, a vulture crossing the road, peanut butter on a bacon and cheddar cheese burger, cat's with the lion cut, weird science tv show. Dude I can go on lol.

message 1385: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments mmm bacon and peanut butter

message 1386: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I love those two things. But separately. Don't like anything tainting my cheddar cheese.

message 1387: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I like em together. I had it at the bacon fest. A bacon burger with crunchy honey peanut butter and banana. It didn't cheese or nothing like you'd put on a regular burger

message 1388: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah, that is definitely an adventure burger. I just don't like my meats sweet.

message 1393: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

message 1394: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I have no idea either but ppl keep saying some kind of python. I'm not sure I believe that. Either way I would cry, panic, scream like a baby if I ever seen that on my porch.

message 1395: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I think I would do all that while dialing 911, lol.

message 1396: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Did I mention I'm terrified of snakes!?

message 1397: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments O_O that's a huge snake! there is a possibility since there are some really huge pythons out there but idk if i believe that was a python either rofl.

the one i saw looked similar to this but longer and somewhat of a dark brown - http://s3.hubimg.com/u/5203674_f260.jpg

we've had a king snake in our backyard before as well

message 1398: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Gotcha! So wait. You're saying a snake like that, moved with its upper body off the ground and do that side to side movement!?

:-) This girl is gonna have nightmares tonight

message 1399: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments You are a good one for being used to snakes coming around so often Jennifer. I don't necessarily wig out when I see a snake per se. Being handled by a zoo person or even on TV. But yea, once you look like you can have me with ketchup THEN we have problems.
