Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Questions- I normally have good instincts about people (but sometimes I ignore em cause I have idiot moments) and when I'm about to walk into a bad situation other than that though nope.

message 1203: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I think I have like once in a blue moon intuition. Where I can't guess lottery numbers or know when something is going to happen to someone. But every so often I know who the bad guy/person is in a book or movie before it's revealed. Or that someone is going to plot a certain thing in the story line. Also every so often I'm a good judge of character on having a intuition about people. But not too often til I get to know them better. But I still wish, I had luck with the lotto though lol.

New Question- So yesterday was National Hot Dog day. How many of you had a hot dog in honor of the holiday? Or how many even knew that it was a food holiday? Lol. To be honest I didn't even know it was til I heard about it on a commercial. And it got me curious about other days. Check this out: http://www.statesymbolsusa.org/Nation... Does your bday fall on a favorite food holiday or no?

message 1204: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments wait i think u told me about that LOL and i forgot. i had a fake chicken (veggie chicken) sandwich that day :I.

message 1205: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments I actually did know it was national hot dog day..heard it on the news or something. Only reason I knew. Nope, no hot dog for me. I have found they tend to not like me much so i don't eat them often.

Looked at the link and my birthday is in October..no actual days listed but it is national Pizza, cookie, popcorn popin, pasta, pretzel and dessert month! Well, others too, but i do like all of those.

message 1206: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Did you scroll all the way down to just under Oct. Valerie? I see Oct. 4th- the 30th listed there. What's your bday I'll give a look and see what it is for ya.

message 1207: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments No hot dogs for me the other day. Though I'm dying to try the new pretzel dog by Sonic's. And when I looked it up my bday is considered one of the National Chocolate days. Which is definitely pretty awesome as I do loves me chocolate. :) But come to think of it though, I don't think I've ever actually eaten any of that stuff on the prescribed day at all. For that matter didn't even know so many existed.

New Question- Do you think it is better to get married young or when you are older?

message 1208: by Jennifer (last edited Jul 24, 2013 09:47PM) (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments I think it all depends. Some marriages work out when you get married young and some when u get old and vice versa. As long as you get married for the right reasons and both ppl are committed and love each other truly then young or old works. i do think that a lot of ppl these days get married just to get married tho imo. marriage is a big deal and shouldn't be stepped into lightly just bc there's a such thing as a divorce.

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I am right between quiche Lorraine and Vanilla Pudding LOL
I hardly follow those out of line celebration days. We have a loud shirt friday here in Australia (like really bright colours). But at work we wear mainly black and grey.
Well I found my hubby when I was in my early 30s and with the move (incl. application for visa) and getting settled (built a house) I am in my 40s now, hubby has health issues and I don't see a child at the horizon (it really sucks).
I used to have some intuitions about an apprenticeship application once and didn't really want to start in that particular company and a few months later they went into liquidation. When I am extremely emotional upset I do tent to curse people and some have come true (that's the ones I followed up on).

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments hi Manuela

message 1211: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Hi Ray, sorry that I ignored you. I have been cleaning my email accounts, hunting more books sorting out my download folder and in between had to pob on GR for checking on books to answer emails. How are you. How are you? When are you leaving? Are you going to be online on your special day? Or will you be out of range?

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments hi Manuela its cool. I am doing good. today I am going to San Antonio to spend the night at my sister's house. I will be heading to Louisiana tomorrow in the morning from San Antonio.

I finished the book Inferno and it was really good XD

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I will still be on goodreads

message 1214: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I have inferno on hold from my library. When I get it I will read it straight away, promised. ;)
Good, that I will be able to talk to you. On the weekend I will probably be online as hubby is working and I will be reading. I have a few books that are due.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments sweet!

I can't wait for school to come out.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I meant the book Styx.

I hate my auto correct

message 1217: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments New Question- I agree with Amaya. It depends on the people. There are pros and cons to getting married at any age but if you're committed and doing it for the right resaons then go for it. As long as the decision has been clearly thought about and you're not being hasty go for it.

message 1218: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Ray (warrior of randomness) XP wrote: "I meant the book Styx.

LOL, cracks me up every time when i read those...

I ordered Styxx as a collectors item, bought Time Untime and one of the CoN books as collectors items too.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments that's really cool

message 1220: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Yeah and when I tell you that one was $7 plus $20 postage and the other two $3 and $6 plus $20 postage... as soon as I see them I tell you if it was worth the $20 to order from overseas.

message 1221: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I was hoping to get BOS as a collectors item :/

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments will the book be autographed by SK?

message 1223: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I think so, but I don't believe it till I see it. With my own two bright eyes. ~nodding~

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I am planning to go to England next summer

message 1225: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments That is great, I have only been in Heathrow airport and one very nice pilot who had to fly a loop showed us big ben and tower bridge by night. the closest I got to England was Northern Ireland and the Netherlands on the other side of the channel. LOL

message 1226: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments You have somewhere special you want to go?

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I just wanna c the sites :)

message 1228: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Of London? Of England? How long will you want to be there? Do you extend to Wales and Scotland? Let me know, but I am off to bed now, it is almost 3am. c u l8r

message 1229: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Great minds Jennifer and Shari. I'm all for getting married for the right reasons at any age. And also make sure to not over do the wedding to the point that you can't see the marriage on the other side.

New Question- If you could say only word for the rest of your life what would it be and why?

message 1230: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments No.... You ever talk to a kid who always tells you no, annoying as hell aint it!?.... Then turn around and ask for ice cream in all their adorable glory. I'll love using my one word vocabulary

message 1231: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Good one Shari. I think mine would have to be...quiet. Cause can say it quick and nobody be really sure if I'm telling them to BE quiet in general or hush so I can hear something.

New Question- So you think you can read. How many books have you gotten through this far into the year? And has any one completed any 2013 reading challenges of the year? Aside from our lovely Secret Santa Challenge.

message 1232: by Manuela (last edited Jul 27, 2013 05:47AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments 105 books out of 150 and I have been very slack the last month. :(
I just returned "Lover at Last" to the library unread. I had it sitting on my shelf for a month just to piss everyone else off. I waited freakin' 5 months for it and I would have had to wait 7 months in total if not a friendly soul had given that book to me through the www. Smooches to you, you know who you are.
I still have two more books in my secret Santa book challenge to read. I am just so damn tired lately and have all the other distractions.

Old question: I couldn't live with just one word, I am a woman in the true sense, I speak over 10,000 words a day!!!!!!!

message 1233: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments 33 novels so far. 17 more to go before the challenge is complete. wasn't able to get last year's challenge done because there just wasn't enough time and it took away some of the fun in reading e.e so this year i made the challenge smaller.

LOL i wish i could read the amount of books that u guys do! O_O i have no idea how u do it. that's so awesome XD.

message 1234: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments 63 out of 150 so far. I'm 4 behind but will definately be caught up by the end of next week. Last year I did 120 which was why I bumped up the number this year. I've completed 3 challenges so far and still working on 4 others, including the Secret Santa challenge for this group. Most of em are year long challenges so I've got awhile for those

message 1235: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Wow that is great you guys. Even if you are behind or on top of your goals. Still really great progress. I'm only doing the secret santa challenge this time around here myself. So my yearly total so far is just 62 books. But it keeps things fun to say the least and not overly pushing myself like I did last year. Although I got 178 out of 200 completed then.

Side note, keep it up ladies on your challenges. Really knocking it out of the park. :)

New Question- What do you think about Oprah Winfrey? As a person/individual? Business woman? And even her own network station.

message 1236: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments As a business woman she is quite successful, I am not sure about her personally but I am not fussed on what she let the public know so far. She is quite contradictory in her statements about her life, her past, her relations. I like watching her show but I don't do it religiously (mainly because I am at work when it is on).

message 1237: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments i think oprah is awesome tbh rofl. i havent really watched her on anything in a really long time but based on when i did i think she's awesome.

message 1238: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I agree. I always kind of liked Oprah what she has contributed to the world. A rather big undertaking with her own network. But give her props for achieving so many things.

New Question- When was the last time you were envious of someone?

message 1239: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Last time I was envious was today. Lol true story

message 1240: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments I have this silly "thing" of wanting what other people have. nothing too serious though. Just like, if i see someone eating ice cream, I'd be thinking to myself "Oh I want one also!" or I'd also get myself a new bag if my sister gets a new one. is that bad?

message 1241: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments every day... I think, you can be envious, just don't act on it... ;)

message 1242: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments Just about every day, but nothing bad or evil like. LOL (:~D

message 1243: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (last edited Jul 29, 2013 08:02AM) (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Like deep down green with envy that I almost wanted to physically hurt someone....aaaannnnd possibly ruin a friendship. When my bff got married and I couldn't be there to be the maid of honor at her wedding because I was 3000 miles away with no money for an airline ticket. Sooooo she asked her cousin. Oh yes I was hatefully envious. I actually told Maria, I'd prefer she didn't have a maid of honor at all. I was extremely petty about it. If we had been face to face, she would have punched me. Her Tita Lupe skyped the reception for me so I could virtually be there though so we were good. I apologized profusely and cried through the whole thing. My goodness I love that woman, so glad it turned out beautifully.

i've never been badly envious except for the joking/playful kind. at least that i can think of anyways. but the last time was when we were talking actually LOL and i told u that i totally envy u!

message 1245: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments NEW QUESTION FOR JULY 30th

What country would you want to visit the most and why?

message 1246: by Arianne (new)

Arianne (biatchwithwifi) | 127 comments England first then Scotland.
I've decided that I was an anglophile and possibly be english in my former life when I was only 10.
I want to see Scotland so I can see the castles there.

message 1247: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (cassiemo9) | 818 comments Right now....would be Greece. I want to see all ancient Greek structures and the history. Athens is an amazing place for thousands of years!

message 1248: by Valerie (new)

Valerie (rie10) | 166 comments UK by far. All the castles and old cathedrals are the biggest draw for me. Side trip would be Doctor Who experience (&other stuff DW realted) and the Harry Potter tour cuz they had some really great locations.

message 1249: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Old question- Last time I was envious was when the fam and I were moving my dad's mom into her apartment in Columbus when she moved back to Ohio. And unloading all her stuff, particularly all these half finished afghan projects she had for all her OTHER grand kids and being so proud of making the afghans for them. But whereas the grand kid that has lived in the same state as her for the last several years before she moved and even before she passed, never even got a thought about that sort of gift from her. Rather disheartening indeed.

New Question- I used to want to visit Ireland. Had a particular calling for it for some reason. But that has come and gone. And now I'm all for Italy and all the fine culture, food, and men. ;)

message 1250: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Scotland because of the castles and the land. Goodness it looks beautiful there. I'm gonna sneak in Greece as well because its close up there. I'd love to explore all those islands and isles. The beaches I know are amazing. Those crystal clear waters and the different ranges of color in the seas from a emerald blue to a turquoise and a dark wine. And the sands are a gold, white, black, and red. So much variety
