Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments it wouldnt matter if its slanderous. its free speech if the book is coming from a psycho. he has the right to speak his mind

message 1002: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I feel you Ray. Doesnt stop people from protesting and complaining about them. Getting taken off shelves in bookstores, libraries, and ebook webstores

message 1003: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'm not a fan of any kind of book banning either. I really see no point in it to be honest. I mean it would be great if it served some kind of a over all purpose to keep particular books away from people. But as it doesn't, then it is pointless and only feeds the desire to know more about those books in the first place.

Glad to see our new members clicking around and finding our chat threads too by the way. :)

New Question- What do you feel makes for an awesome GR group experience?

message 1004: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments the bantering in the middle of the night (would be for some of you during the day or in the early morning hours of yesterday...).
I love the Secret Santa books as it gets my ass into gear to read some of the books at the bottom of my TBR pile (means they have been on it for quite a while and have been overlooked for various reasons).
The friendly people here are awesome. Like to initiate a GRoup Hug. *hug*

message 1005: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I'd like in on that *Group Hug*

message 1006: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Its members. Everyone feeling comfortable to contribute and participate. Having an environment thats open and fun with organized threads

message 1007: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Awww thanks you guys. Glad you are enjoying your time around these parts. I have to say what makes this group awesome is not only my fave author's books. But because there is a shared love for the author, great peeps I have so much in common with. And can really enjoy talking to everyday. :) So getting some of that group hug action as well.

New Question- What is your one can't resist and must have guilty pleasure?

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I am not a fan of banning books either

which is the worst book yall ever read?

message 1009: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I would have to say for myself it was this one- Punish Me, Please Me by Ashley Zacharias I thought it was about something it clearly was not and man it was horrible. Very extreme take on things at times and left me with a major WTF feeling going on.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I hate catcher in the rye

message 1011: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Never read it. But not too fond of the classics either in general save for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

message 1012: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I think books and my laptop. I keep control over my buying habits of books by means of waiting till they go on sale or I try to encourage friends to gift them to me. - It just doesn't work with hubby ~shaking my head wondering why~ LOL -. Sad that the books here in Australia are sooooo expensive but it helps me not to go mental in a bookstore. :)
Well the laptop is a different kind of jam altogether.
Since we have internet and lately wifi I am hardly off the bloody thing. But then I wouldn't have "met" you guys either if it wasn't for the invention of the internet.
Worst book ever? Can't remember further back than the last one as I usually try to ban the memory of them to the back recess of my brain, so that I not stumble over it all the time. Check out my only one star book. Read it if you dare, and tell me what you think. LOL

message 1013: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Man it's been a while since I updated this. My bad peeps. I would have to say I don't really have any guilty pleasures. Well maybe chocolate and breads. Although I never feel guilty about having them. More like have to remember moderation on them though as I can definitely over do them.

New Question- If you could have plastic surgery on one body part or portion of your body and money was no object. What would it be?

message 1014: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Hands down my breasts. Yup Yup. But I am trying to lose weight and when I do, I will need major skin reduction surgery and gonna get the boobs fixed all nice and pretty too! lol

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments who here reads CON?

message 1017: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ray could you ask your question over in the CON folder. There are actually quite a few threads of interest posted there. Thank you.

message 1018: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments *hug* Cherale.
Only if I had an accident I would do plastic surgery. I had a neck op in 2010 and it wasn't fun to recover. My hubby broke his ankle in a skydiving accident and since then had his fair share of operations (half a dozen or more) so we are good, no need for some voluntairy jobs done.

message 1019: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I wouldn't have anything done to be honest. I'm actually satisfied with the way my body looks, flaws in all....but if there is something to help gain weight easily, I'd jump on that quick, fast and in a hurry

message 1020: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'll swap you my thighs Shari, they love to gain weight off bread products with ease lol.

message 1021: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments I never thought I would but now I definitely would. Mainly to loose a little round the middle I think ;) also I've lost a bit of weight and it would be nice to....tighten things up lol

message 1022: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I'll take em with a smile :-)
I'd love to have shapely thighs.

message 1023: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well I'm sure if I worked out a bit more would likely be more shapely. But right now they are just the typical cellulite lumps more or less haha.

message 1024: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I hate working out. I do zumba because its dancing and fun. And the dance games too every week.

message 1025: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments The more I think about it. I have to say I would want my boobs done too. Not like implants, but a lift or so. Kind of had a thing about hunching my shoulders over the years. So for my age I have some saggy girls that I'm not quite happy about it. But I'm working it out.

message 1026: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question- What's the best flavored ice cream YOU ever had?

message 1030: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Oh I like it classic, Chocolate and Vanilla. Nothing compares to those two. :)

message 1031: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I bought Zumba for Christmas two years ago(?). I think I did it once on New Years Eve into the new year and never again. I am just too lazy once my bum is on the couch... LOL

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I like chocolate and vanilla too

message 1033: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments cool Ray,
I am a bit weird, I like strawberries but I don't like strawberry icecream.
I like grapes but I hate raisins(sultanas). I usually pick them out of anything that I want to eat or I avoid it alltogether.
I am not for dried fruit at all but fresh in a fruit salad I could sit and bathe in them.

N. Davis | 8 comments Dhfan4life wrote: "New Question- What's the best flavored ice cream YOU ever had?"

I don't know the name of this ice cream, but it was white chocolate ice cream with chocolate bits, fudge ribbons, and maraschino cherries. It was a seasonal flavor and it was great.

message 1035: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I don't get crazy with ice cream. I normally only go for ones that have nuts, caramel, and chocolate swirled into it. So I'd have to say Caramel Nougat Crunch

message 1036: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Chocolate chip chocolate

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments that sounds delicious Manuela

My thoughts on book banning: As an avid reader, I have read some crappy books, but I believe that everyone has the right to read what they choose. Just because an author did not appeal to me doesn't mean that someone else won't like it.

message 1041: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments anything special? I love coconut chocolate and hazelnuts and then we have one from cadbury I call "gooee"

When I'm sick my go to remedies are, homemade chicken soup, hot lemon tea with honey, whiskey, and sleep.

message 1044: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I love French Vanilla and Vanilla bean, in relation to the liking vanilla and chocolate flavors of ice cream.

But personally the best tasting ice cream that I have ever had has been Banana Foster by Hagan Daz. But I'm also loving Caramel Praline right now as well. Pretty much vanilla, with caramel sauce and praline nuts mixed in. Very yummy.

New Question: If you could make one brand new law for/over anything. What would your new law pertain? And who would most benefit from it or be slighted by it?

message 1045: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'd like to make a brand new law to eradicate much older laws, such as beating one's wife on the court stairs on Sunday. Such things are ridiculous and well honestly cruel and although our country has a lot of growth to make. I still don't want to see such older laws still in existence.

New Question-If you could be a part of any sitcom or tv show which would you want to be a character on and what would be your role in the show? Instigator? Victim?, Cop? Vamp? etc.

message 1046: by Lasher (new)

Lasher | 5 comments Just stick me with Tyrion on Games of Thrones. He seems to be the smartest of the bunch and a great sense of humor. If you have to go without modern plumbing, you might as well laugh while you do it.

message 1047: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I am not sure if I wanted to be in a series. Maybe a side kick to a Police DCI or the love interest of a hero (I'd love to be Bride, too bad I don't fit in Tabithas clothes LOL).
In a book I don't mind to get killed, I just don't want to be brainless in any media.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I want to be in the dark Hunter universe. I would be a mysterious being in the book. no.one would know me but I would know them. I want to be something more powerful than a god and appear average to others
