Thank you for letting us know, Mtsnow. I have the first book in audio and I really liked the narrator, too.
Funny thing — it's such a long book (30 hours or something like that) that when ever I think about the story I have flashbacks from a certain spring and gardening tasks from early spring all the way to midsummer. :-D

They're $8 for me, that's only $2 less than a credit.
I've bought the Sherlock Holmes books seperately for some of those $10 or £10 credits they sometimes provide when you buy 3 books at a certain price, so basically they were free :-)

Nice! I really like the series. I have not listened to Fever Pitch yet, but it's coming up soon.
My new position will involve a bit of driving, so I get to listen to even more audiobooks! I knew I built up that huge collection for a reason! :P I was planning ahead. Yeah, that's the ticket... planning ahead.

I went there last summer and was blown away by the beauty of the Islands and the music, it's so hauntingly beautiful. It has this vulnerable frailty to it.
I just bought the second and third books in the Dark Horse series by Kate Sherwood since I have been enjoying the first book quite a bit, though today it's frustrating me a tad. Lol. Then saw Hell or High Water by Charlie Cochet, and decided to give that a try. I also bit the bullet and got The Fellowship as well. All in audio.

Thanks for sharing. They are all new to me. :-)

I like it so far, almost halfway through"
I enjoyed that book. It reminded me a lot of the TV show Shameless.

And she does a great cover of a favorite, Murder in the City by The Avett Brothers. I love her note with the video.

A LOT of auditions, so all I can figure is it's becoming more and more competitive out there for narrators. Lots of people crowding into the audio book market.

Odd though that I can tolerate it in Cardeno C. books.

But but! Where's the book?! Wah wah wah!

Two narrators whom you have not used yet are Greg Tremblay and Tristan James. They were used by Rhys Ford for her books and are fantastic. Charlie David is another good one. He narrated many of BG Thomas's books.

Oooh! I'm a huge audiobook fan so :D :D :D I am kind of curious, what's the process of making an audiobook like? Is it planned to come out the same time as the print book?

A lot will depend on the narrator's schedule. Ideally it will be about a month after the print and ebook come out. It would be impossible to have it come out at the same time given how tight all the deadlines are.

It's going to be hard as hell to pick a narrator this time because there are so many really good auditions. The pool of talent is getting bigger and a lot more competitive. And this is really just in the last year. I used to be able to disqualify narrators within the first sentence or two. Now I'm listening all the way to the end thinking...wow, this guy's good!

Didn't you once do a vote where readers got to help narrow it down?
Maybe try that again.

Charles Carr is very good too, he narrates James Lear's The Hardest Thing.
Well, the truth is I currently have five excellent auditions to choose between. So searching out more great narrators would probably not be wise. :-D
My regret is that I have relatively few projects this year and so many talented people to choose from.

I've always enjoyed Jack Lafleur...

Just bought 5 audiobooks! All because of some 10 dollar coupon. I guess I have to realize I'm a horder and a sucker for "deals".

Don't worry, I'm looking for 2 books so I can get the coupon as well :p
I have been LOVING Peter B. Brooke as narrator for Dark Horse. He does a really good American south west accent, that's just really, OMG, hot, and sexy, and warm, and comforting, and everything you want in the partner you choose for life. lol. *shrugs* just sayin'.

Funny you posted that because I just bought a book with him as a narrator. Written in the Stars I just started it, will be nice to find out if I like him as much as you do.
