As I read each of your books I'm always inspired by the way you used the poems and how they intertwined with the theme. So I wanted to know if the story was inspired by the poems or the story came first? If the the story, what made you pick the poems you did?

Hi Ally! I loved the Matched Trilogy sooo sooo much. Ky and Cassia are AMAZING! So...question time!1.I'm not sure if you can answer this, but, we never find out what happens to Em. So, what happens to her?
2. I read in an interview once that you weren't entirely sure who Cassia would end up with until you started Reached. Is this true? Its kind of shocking, because I see Cassia and Ky as such a steadfast couple. They complete each other and help each other become better versions of themselves. They are amazing together! It's why I love them sooooo much!
3. What happened with the elections? I mean, the reader obviously hopes for Anna to win, but we DON'T know. And even if its supposed to be that way, it is a little unsettling as a reader to NOT know if their future will be bright!

Hi Ally I am a true fan of your books love Matched , crossed , reached I fell in love with the characters but mostly TEAM KY. I loved the story and how you made the poems a token of the story but why does cassia join the pilot wen she knew ky hated it so much ?

Hello, Ally! Of course, I loved the trilogy! I own all three books and fell in love as soon as I heard about Matched. My younger sister actually was looking for something to read, so I gave her Matched. Within the course of two days, she had finished the first book. She was so passionate that she even went out and bought the book in hardcover because I only had paperback. She has actually finished the books faster than me and is one of your biggest fans! You're such an inspirational writer. I just wanted to ask if you had trouble while writing these books (like writer's block), and if you did, what did you use to help get rid of it and keep writing?

I really liked how you incorporated famous poetry into this story, and how Cassia found strength within the words. What gave you the idea to use poetry in the story?
Hi, Ally!I think your writing is amazing, and the best word to describe it is beautiful. It's probably one of the most well-written stories I've read. A lot of my friends didn't like it as much, because there wasn't as much action. In most stories with other heroines, there is always combat involved. What made you decide to keep fighting to the minimal, even though there was a war? I also wanted to ask, before you started the series, did you plan out everything beforehand? Did you plan out the entire society, then plan small incidents that will be revealed as much more important in a book later? Did you plan out webs and links throughout the three books even before you wrote the first one? Just wanted to let you know that you are an amazing writer, and you have written by far the most beautiful words I've ever read. Thanks!
Also, sorry to bother you again, but I have one more question. Throughout the last two books, you alternated the point of view in which the story is being told. Was it easier to do that, or harder? Did revealing another's characters thoughts on paper make you feel like the character is being understood more, or someone is being revealed by too much?
Now that you have finished the Matched trilogy will you write something else?

Hi, I know chances of my completing dream aren't very good, but I thought I might as well give it a chance. Writing (as well as music) are my life. I want to write as a part time job when I grow up, but my problem is I never know how to come up with good ideas. Writing dialogue and descriptive language isn't the problem, but formulating a plot is.I have ideas but they'll never get anywhere. How do you formulate ideas? Any tips? Thanx for the time.

I do have a question pertaining to the series.
I loved the way you incorporated the myth of Sisyphus into the rebellion's manifesto. If you're familiar with Albert Camus, you probably know that he wrote an essay entitled "The Myth of Sisyphus", in which (and forgive me for oversimplifying this) he claimed that the only joy we can achieve is the moment we reach the top of the hill, and we see the landscape out before us.
My question for you is this: As a Christian, I find the Sisyphian myth to be an incorrect way to view mankind's suffering (in other words, I think that we can get over the hill with the help of Christ, and thus we are not hopelessly repeating a futile act of repentance). As a Latter-Day Saint, why did you use the Pilot and his myth to represent the rebellion? Do you think the rebellion is pointless? In the end, what does Cassia live for, and how does she find joy in life?
