And you just don't like Mercy because you're sex-mad, you little vixen!
:)
DarkHeart: I think it's ludicrous that authors often don't have input. Yes, sex sells. But I cringe at all these women-in-leather covers. They all look exactly alike. Certainly doesn't sell the book for me, seeing yet another sultry scantily clad woman. The avatar you have from her site would be much quicker to peak my interest. And rock god? Ugh, I know what ya'll mean-sounded cheesy as hell. Maybe if they called him a sexy Goth idol...that would be more intriguing and more accurate!

Lori- I haven't read the Mercy series, but I think I have the same problem with the Anita Blake series, for the same reason. Jean Claude is obviously hot and he obviously wants you. What's the problem? Just because you're a vampire slayer you can't have a little fun with a hottie? I mean the book is fun and I'm not having any trouble reading it, but I guess I just like PNR and have a hard time getting into UF.

Barbara, have you read any other DHs?....I loved Xypher...i hope you like it

Oh Lori...just wait girlfriend...she's gonna have some fun with Jean Claude...lots and lots of fun. This series starts out one way and then through Anita's metamorphosis, changes dramatically. It's one of my favorite series of all time and I didn't really like the first book all that much. I kept reading though and each book took me closer and closer to what I love about this series. There are strong opinions here and on other sites about the way things progress and change throughout the books. You have to just read them and decide for yourself if it's your cuppa or not. They get so HOT you're gonna need a pair of asbestos panties :)

Thanks I have one book left that comes out at the end of the month, but since I am done I am just adding to the collection

well, that's book 8. I had been waiting and waiting and waiting for the new Dresden book, and have now finished it. Sigh, just LOVE that Harry. Harry now has some real problems for the next book. I won't give anything away, so that those who are also Harry fans won't have spoilers. This book got 5 of 5 stars.
And who needs sleep, right? I finish reading the book at about 5 am, after spending the day over at Oz's sewing. Then got up at 9:45 and, as soon as I finish this I will go back to work on making costumes. BTW--my kimino is finished and its really beautiful. I'm glad it turned out the way I saw it in my mind.

LOVED Wages of Sin by Jenna Maclaine, the character of Cin was wonderful and fun. I do remember that in the book

Diane--I agree. Cin is a REAL kick A heroine. I found the story wwaaayyyyy back when Jenna was pretty much self publishing it. So I've been waiting about 3 years for this series to finally make it with a "real" publisher so that the rest of the story could get published. I did order the new printing of it, just to show my support and to further encourage the publisher. Sigh a GREAT first story, which is not something that you can always say about newbie authors.

Okay, so I couldn't remember the "Kitty" title as anything but "Kitty Goes to Hell" and wasn't sure I wanted to read about Kitty the Werewolf going to hell, because I was pretty sure it would be literal, and hell isn't a place I'd like to go--but it's NOT the title. She just Raises hell--which could be literal... But isn't. There's a demon in it. And it's good. And I liked it.
I wasn't sure how much I liked Duainfey. I think I liked it more than just "okay" (which is my 2-star rating), so I gave it 3 stars. It's really dark and Fey-ish, where the Fey are tricksy and cruel.
Which is why I didn't like Ink Exchange as much as I liked Wicked Lovely. It was mean. I'll probably read the 3rd book in the series though.
Besides Kitty and Duainfey, I also read some non-PNR challenge books: Scandal by Carolyn Jewel, The Wicked Ways of a True Hero by Barbara Metzger, The Moretti Heir by Katherine Garbera, and Bargained Into Her Boss's Bed by Emilie Rose. I alternated. One PNR, one other. So I've read 9 books, just not all on my list.
I can't find where my printed out list is. People cleaned up my desk. The bad part is that I had sticky notes with the books I wanted to read stuck all over it...

Now, back to work on costumes. Hopefully when we get them all finished I can force Oz to take pictures. (Twisting Oz's arm long distance) lol, since she's a SERIOUS shutter bug, getting her to STOP taking pictures is usually the problem. But we'll get some pictures taken and post a link so you guys and see our work. :o)

ok, this book is off topic, but its one that I really feel I have to recommend. ITs Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett. This book is especially good for the chocoholics among us. The "heroes" of the book save the world by using that super powerful weapon--CHOCOLATE. Hey, I've always thought that chocolate was the most powerful force in the universe, haven't the rest of you?
