Tj (bluesmokey) | 632 comments I have seen the offending tattoo and at least she did her homework and picked someone with skills. She also thought a long time on what to get and it has meaning to her(a favorite quote and picture from a book, sorry can't remember the name or the quote *darn fog!*) so I'm ok with it but Dad...NO he would not be!

Preston | 20148 comments I'm irritated at the lack of positive comments on the excellent Complaint Department banner and the exciting new section for Topics Created by Members where anyone can start a thread.

Thanks Lucas. Good work big guy.

Kendra (book_lover_too) | 337 comments I am very upset that I didn't see the banner before it was brought to my attention. Now I am going to have to explore to see what else I may have missed. Excellent work!

message 2755: by Goesta (new)

Goesta Stuck and depressed. Though Walpurgisnacht here in Germany, should be the perfect day for writing the scene of witchy augury I'm struggling with (not my element). Happy May Day, nonetheless!

message 2756: by Roger (last edited May 01, 2013 01:12AM) (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Stuck and depressed, Goesta… you don't know the meaning of stuck and depressed. On the first (and most beautiful day of the year so far) day of May, I have a small DAT recorder with over three hours of interview to transcribe. And I have a West African Curry to prepare for six this evening. Hah!

message 2757: by [deleted user] (new)

Well I know this is a complain department, but I am happy, relaxed and got some energy back :-) on Saturday, we eat fine food at restaurant Wessel in Ringe and then my birthday 5/5 and 11/5 anniversary with the school 20 years Confirmation, 13 students and 2-3 teachers, I have commissioned service to this day, happily the SBH went okay :-D (50 danish kr. back and forth, that is not expensive). Without that it would cost me 370,- danish kr. and that is expensive, so I am happy that I have SBH now it stand for difficult with reduced mobility disabilities( svært bevægelseshæmmet handicap).

in this month I get visitation to be supporting chair and electric scooter, which I hope will be approved, so things should soon be all right. This month there is also MRI and a new meeting with the doctor, hopefully a new biological medicine.

There is a lot of things to happened this month and I am looking forward to it, I feel finally that it's going the right way.

Thank you All in the complain department for your sweet and kind words that means a lot to me, thank you All for your support xxx <3 A lot of hugs and smooches

Without this place I would feel that I gone crazy and have a new depression, you All have help me to control my hurt, anger and hate, without this I would still be in a lot of pain and not be looking forward and get over the hate, THANK YOU

My complain today is that my neck hurt, my hips, my back and still some in the shoulder but the blockade with binyrebarkhormon have help. My arm hurt today too, but after I relaxed I can better stand the pain, still very painful, but my good help on that.

Happy May Day :-)

message 2758: by Macky (last edited May 01, 2013 01:59AM) (new)

Macky (mactut) My complaint of the day is that having been stuck in the house for nearly a fortnight because my sister had to work extra days last week, I'm having to go out for lunch and some retail therapy. How annoying! Big grumpy hugs to Helle because she's finally feeling better, I hate she's still having pain but I'm so happy aggravated that this new doctor is giving her hope for her future care. How great awful that things are going so much better for her. Hugs to Goesta and Roger too because they're stuck and depressed. I think Roger should share his West African Curry with all of us because it sounds amazing awful!

Happy grumpy May Day! ~x~

message 2759: by Goesta (new)

Goesta I am rather grumpled that both Helle's high spirits and Roger's evidently even greater stuckness with drudge-work followed by fine dining are more substantial than my wee gripe. I am miffed to find that Macky is busy pursuing the adage that when the offal clears the fan, the fabulous go shopping and that, apparently, in the UK the stores are open on the 1st of May. I reside in a logical, secular state that has absurdly bowed to pressure from the Christian far right to disallow spending money on a day such as this, an ancient, pagan seasonal festival.

message 2760: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry to hear that Roger and Goesta is stuck and depressed, A lot of hugs to your both. Like Macky said "I think Roger should share his West African Curry with all of us because it sounds amazing awful"!

Nice to hear Macky that you go out for lunch and some retail therapy, wish it was me to do that :-D have a great day with shopping and fine dinner.

Well it's almost a normal day in Denmark, the only different is that there is land meetings for all politician in Denmark *sigh* but they never change and do not keep the promises they have promised the people, lie after lie *roll eyes*

message 2761: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments West African curry is the most fabulously wonderful combination of tastes anyone's ever tasted simply awful. That's why I can't share it. Sorry :((

message 2762: by Lori S. (new)

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 2809 comments Well now, aren't we all grumpy folk this morning? Helle, happy with her new doctor, Roger withholding his West African curry from us (how could you?!), Macky, really, shopping? and Goesta stuck with his scene ... sigh. I don't know what to think!

message 2763: by Anil (new)

Anil (loykalina) | 303 comments I am P.O.'ed that our dear members feel down today. I hope you all will feel better soon.

I'm still stressed with the uni thing. I'll go and talk firmly to their representative in Turkey for the uni being incapable of communication. I checked the e-mails I sent to the uni and the dates I received the generic e-mails I received from the uni telling me that they would make a response between 2 and 4 working days. It's been weeks! I think even on that count, I have a right to sue them for putting me in stress. I think we've passed the time I could accept a refusal. Therefore, the only answer/response I will accept is an apology and an offer with reduced tuition fee because I will have almost only 3 months to complete 2 modules and my dissertation.

The other thing that made me angry today was that the government and the governor of Istanbul did not let labour unions to celebrate May Day at an important square for security reasons, but one that is pro-government. The police threw pepper gas over the members of other unions. As a person who had been exposed to that gas despite being far from the epicentre of a previous event, I can't describe the horrible feeling it causes. I do hate the current Islamist government in Turkey that tries to transform Turkey into a second Belarus or Ottoman Empire. I am not hopeful we will ever get rid of them because the electors can give away their votes for a job, some food or religion. I am really ashamed of being a compatriot of theirs.

message 2764: by [deleted user] (new)

@Roger, I am severely distressed that you must slave away in the kitchen preparing such a time consuming meal when I know that cooking is one of your favorite pastimes and you will only be rewarded with high praise and many compliments from your dinner guests.

@Helle, I am so horribly upset to see you have written "I am happy, relaxed and got some energy back :-) " since that is the most wonderful news I have ever read here in the Complaint Department out of the more than five thousand comments (not including games) made here in the group since its inception in mid-February.

@all the faeries, pixies and sprites in England and the academics at Oxford, I am recoiled in horror that you will be forced to cheerily hold colorful ribbons and dance around the Maypole.

@ all the American members I am a fellow sufferer in our tragic circumstance that while dozens of other countries celebrate, this day is just another date on the calendar and for most people the beginning of the month simply means all the bills are due again.

@Goesta, I am seriously perturbed that the rightwing religious zealots in Germany have made Der Erste Mai a holy day holiday when as you so rightfully pointed out it is a pagan festival (to drive out evil spirits and welcome the Spring.)

@Ijeoma, your mother, you and your family are still in my prayers while you await the grim outcome of your mother's tragic prognosis.

@Anil, I am sincerely complaining that the Uni has still not contacted you and I hope you will flood them with emails until they respond. Also in all sincerity I am angered that you feel your government is repressive, intractable and permanent. I am certain I'm joined by every member in the fury and outrage we feel concerning the treatment of our LGBT friends who are oppressed, repressed and even tortured and imprisoned in countries run by religious fanatics of any faith.

All I could think of as I read your post was this video. LOL
This is appropriate to the day too: The Mummer's Dance.

As for being stuck at work today? With the predicted weather through out most of the SW and central states, it's better to be stuck inside!

message 2766: by Goesta (last edited May 01, 2013 10:55AM) (new)

Goesta I am once again perturbed at having myself contradicted by someone that today the stores (not counting those for tourists, gas stations, convenience stores mostly run by struggling foreign workers, yadda yadda...) are closed not for religious but political reasons, to enable the workers of the world to unite. This bugs me, since both pagans and workers, as well as pagan workers, should have separate holidays to celebrate and protest. While I had to go sit through a boring rehearsal of a stupid show, just as my creative juices were starting to gurgitate. So I'm celebrating the Unfair Day that Pleases No One.

The absolutely worst feature of this useless and horrible day is that one cast member is actually the only cute-ish guy I vaguely know in Berlin, but he is such a deplorable actor and lousy singer that, even if I were in the market and he were not straight-ish (not sure about anything on this guy), it just spoiled my appetite to watch him stumble and ham through his part. Lack of esthetic being-ness is the anti-turnon.

message 2767: by Danni (new)

Danni | 248 comments I am extremely perturbed to have to register my displeasure at all the various bank holidays our silly little country has. Nearly every one of them is held on a Monday, which is my day off anyway. I really think that all bank holidays should revolve around my preferred timetable. I'm joining Goesta in celebrating the Unfair Day that Pleases No One.

I also am almost too ashamed and embarrassed to admit this (but I will anyway,) but I only just figured out today why a Maypole is called a Maypole. I'm seriously not kidding, I can be sooo dim sometimes it scares even me.

Lori wrote: "All I could think of as I read your post was this video. LOLThis is appropriate to the day too: The Mummer's Dance."

Grrr. Redegrettedly I must point out that is not genuine English tradition for Mayday: To get the real deal you need right proper Morris Dancing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UNmy1...

Also I regret that the best Maypole dancers on Youtube are 4th graders who wrap their gaily colored ribbons into geometric patterns that would make a spider envious and reverse the dance freeing the ribbons without a hitch. Outstanding technique!

message 2769: by Lori S. (new)

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 2809 comments I stand corrected, Lucas. I've always wanted to go watch some Morris Dancing. When I win the big monies from the lottery that'll be my first priority, after I endow a library dedicated to the preservation of Science Fiction and Fantasy ...

message 2770: by Macky (new)

Macky (mactut) I must complain bitterly that as a young lass I danced the maypole! I also played Father Christmas in a traditional yuletide mummers play.... My acting debut consisted of the words

" In come I , Old Father Christmas. Welcome or welcome not, I hope old Father Christmas will never be forgot"

As you can see my devotion to the art made it so that my beautifully delivered first line was forever etched into my brain but the rest of it I've forgotten. I was 7 and looked very spiffy in my red suit and beard and I got say Ho Ho Ho ( as in laughing, not standing on street corners dressed like a tart)

message 2771: by Goesta (last edited May 01, 2013 01:01PM) (new)

Goesta I am plunged into desolate melancholy as I remember the time I was young and in love with a Morris Dancer, who was also a computer genius and an amazing pianist and looked more than a little like the main character of my book (the one I'm on now) and was kind enough to give me flowers, though never his. :(

message 2774: by Goesta (last edited May 01, 2013 03:24PM) (new)

Goesta Oh, I am saddened to have had to reacquaint myself with how truly unwatchable without the aid of certain neurochemical stimulants those fond old episodes are. Though I would have tied up the one in the tight blue sweater instead. And I must begrudgingly admire the clever insertion into the script of "reticule," a term I previously cherished during my production of David Mamet's Boston Marriage. I am an incarnation of Jon Pertwee, did you know.

I truly regret to say Ijeoma's mother died. I am certain I am speaking for the entire Complaint Department in sending Ijeoma our utmost sympathy and hope that she and her family in England and Nigeria will be find consolation in their faith.

We will be thinking of you and yours.

You mother lives on in all the love she has given and in Glory among all souls in the place that He went to prepare for us.

Anil (loykalina) | 303 comments I am terribly sorry to hear that lovely Ljeoma's mother passed away. She's become an angel now and will be watching Ljeoma and her other children and grandchildren from Heaven. May she rest in peace.

Dear Ljeoma, I do know how you feel right now. This loss is indescribable and forms void in one's life. It will get bigger and bigger every moment till we join them, because there will be lots of things we'd like them to experience with us, but unfortunately that will not be the case. Nothing, even time cannot fill in this void. Yet, it can teach us to acknowledge this reality and how to cope with it. It will be a long long journey.May God give you patience throughout this long journey.

Hugs,

Anil xx

You can't be anal in New Zealand.

I and highly defuriated that the New Zealand is prohibiting parents from naming their children Anal. Other baby names the government has banned are King and Justice.

New Zealanders wishing to name their precious little girl (or boy) Princess were prevented from do so by the government. John Wayne fans in New Zealand are forbidden to name their bouncing baby boy Duke.

Zack fan's of his book Hot For Boys: The Sexy Adventures Of Rogue would be prevented from having a son (or daughter) with that sexy name: Rouge is on the banned list of baby names in the island nation.

Children of BDSM couples would be out of luck if they hoped to name their kid Master. Even if your daughter was the perfect little "lady" in New Zealand parents are forbidden from using that as a name.

However I was not displeased to find that in Sweden no child is going to get stuck with the name of "Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116."

See story at:

There was a case several years ago, I think in Scotland, where the parents tried to name their newborn girl Princess. They were told in no uncertain terms that while they could use the name as a term of endearment, the title "Princess" is reserved for the for the royal family only (presumably this is the same reasoning behind not being able use "Duke", though I'm puzzled as to why anyone would stick their poor kid with a name like Master or, really, Anal?!)

message 2789: by Gabbo (last edited May 02, 2013 11:05AM) (new)

Gabbo Parra (lordgabux) | 559 comments I'm disgruntled, irked, discombobulated and every other aromatic herb you might want to add to the bitching mix because hotter than hell daddy Jake Genesis is quitting porn (let's see how long that last) but the worst part is his farewell email. I'm not going to put the link because then the young ones will see things they shouldn't, but here is an extract:

Pornography does violence to human spirit and, in its effort to display human sexuality openly, pornography perverts it. Pornography destroys families and relationships and lives. Far from being a victimless act, pornography victimizes every single human being involved. The victims of the adult entertainment industry are those who consume pornography and their families but also those involved in the production of pornography and, especially the models or actors.

I don't have words to express how repulsed I am. He sounds worse than brainwashed and that is truly disgusting because I'm no victim and I LOVE porn.

message 2790: by Macky (new)

Macky (mactut) What about Dwayne that would annoyingly be very unfortunate if he was born to Mr and Mrs Pipe.

True story ... My friend went to school with a brother and sister who had been named Titania and Oberon. Now that's cruel. Fancy being shortened to Tit and Ob!! Would be worse if the last name was Head...

Dare I ask our illustrious and backward turned baseball cap wearing lovely Jock which poll he's talking about? The music one or the couples one. I think we need a new one.. What about the 10 most stupid celebrity kids names ever?!
