Helle I am pained to hear about the difficulty you are having because of the weather. I hope it warms up a bit so that you can get to your physio. I have to agree with you about Aves' story. It is romantic and touching.

Aves I hope it works out and that there is somehow a rainbow on the horizon especially if you like this guy.

It pains me to admit that I am a hopeless romantic underneath all the tough stuff.

Kendra (book_lover_too) | 337 comments I agree Ijeoma, I too am a hopeless romantic and hope that Aves and his Captain can get more. Good luck Aves!

Oh, and if we don't hear more I wil be really upset, since this is the complaint thread and I have to complain.

message 1104: by [deleted user] (new)

Damn Monday to Thursday snow and on Wednesday, a lot of snow and the most snow. The weather here is windy, then I get another week with pain and no sleep again :-( :-( I am annoyed that I am still missing 3 weeks before the next control and keeping my fingers crossed that I can begin biological medicine. Not my luck with the weather yet :-( spring and summer I want that NOW *grrr*

This is tiring and annoying that I have been waiting over two months to get a taxi, because of my disability and that I can not get out of the house without my parents running to the doctor or physiotherapist with me, they have a life too and I am lucky to have the love, support and help from them, but I also want them to have their own life without driving me to doctor etc. 300 kr for a taxi back and forth is expensive and so every week, if the municipality does not get things moving then my dad have to use some harsh words and give them an earful as they need it, it seem * Face palm*

Aves please, I want to hear some more and is a hopeless romantic, even if I read SF and Flesh Cartel <3

Tj (bluesmokey) | 632 comments Dang, Helle, I'm frustrated for you. I can get that the weather is messing with you. Weather can do that to me, though I doubt it's as bad for me as you. I'm lucky I live in the south so the weather is usually warm, unfortunately sometimes too warm:( Anyway I hope they get it all worked out and crossing my fingers for the meds too!

message 1108: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you Tj and Ijeoma for your sweet and kind words that meant a lot to me :-) xx I am unlucky that the weather in Denmark in the winter is so changing and cold in the winter, I'm just glad I do not live in Greenland where they have snow and cold most of the year.

But I still want spring and summer

That was my thought too. Except you said it way better than I thought it. My husband doesn't even do that anymore *sniff, sniff*....that could also be because we have three kids and need all hands available to corral them.

Huh, maybe I should take up gardening on the days I don't go to the gym (which is 4 days out of the week, I'm not THAT committed).

Glad you got the roses in, too bad about the hot tub, and cats drive me crazy!! Maybe s/he thought it needed some fertilizer :-) We have two and I kid you not, they are worse than a dog who needs to go to the bathroom when it is time to eat! They are also very smart, the little stinkers. Our cats no longer try to wake me up at 6 to eat by meowing in my face, they just start using the door frame as a scratching post which wakes me right up and gets me out of bed. Not very happily though, but at least they stop RUINING MY WOODWORK!!

JustJen "Miss Conduct" (just_jen) I am highly annoyed to receive a GR email from an author begging me to read his ya/sci fi book, both of which I don't generally read. It was titled "review request" and then gave the link where I could purchase said book. How did this guy find me and why didn't he check my shelves before assuming I would be the right person to review his story? Makes no sense, which peeves me even more.

If it really annoyed you and you think he should be stopped the best thing to do is complain by sending a message to goodreads (click on help in the lower right corner of any page) and report that he spammed you.

No, though I wish that were so. Just the typical case of testosterone poisoning, and a sex drive that won't quit now that Captain-Ex-Air-Force-Fighter-Pilot has figured out what really gets his afterburners going. By the time he crosses the Tropic of Capricorn some time this evening, I will have long since been chucked over for some astonishingly handsome, doe-eyed, caramel-skinned Brazilian beauty - they're everywhere down there - until the next time he returns home to Chicago, alone and horny.

I thank you, really, for your optimistic sentiment. It makes me feel ever so slightly less tarty.

Ije the Devourer of Books | 14524 comments Wakey wakey people.

It is Monday and time to get cracking with the word association games :)

JustJen "Miss Conduct" (just_jen) I would like to complain that it really sucks to have the opposite sleeping problem as most people in that I have no problem actually getting to sleep. My problem is dreaming. I have so many dreams, not of the "I see fluffy clouds, what does that mean" variety, but very strange yet realistic dreams. The problem is that I often wake more exhausted than when I went to sleep, especially after a really active dream. These dreams also cause me to remain in the same position for too long, causing me to wake with pain in my neck and shoulders, cramps and/or numb arms, etc. It is extremely annoying, even though, most of the time, I really enjoy the dreams. :(

Now, off to help Ijeoma with her morning's complaint. :)

So glad you wrote games plural since I don't think everyone knows there are three now: two games of one word associations and one game where one or two words may be used.

Thank you Ijeoma.

My complains are still the bad weather, I went to physical therapy but now do I not know if I feel I've got more pain because of the massage or due to weather?!? This whole week is storm and snowing, already the first night of poor sleep, I hate this. So all week, I can look forward to a lot of pain and no sleep:-( :-(

I would like to be 3 weeks forward so I can start my biological medicine and end up being painless, this is tiring and frustrating to wait, which I hate.

Is angry and upset that I have to pay 61 dollars for taxi back and forth from physiotherapy. The municipality, I am also angry and annoyed that they did not help me with taxis, because of my disability this should then be logical, right?!?

Goesta I really want to give you an answer but I am to tired to understand you right now and think it is better, to answer you when I understand what you have write.

Kendra (book_lover_too) | 337 comments I would like to complain that I have 3 sick kids at home today and a house that is a mess because I was sick last week. As hard as my husband tried, the clean laundry is in piles, there are no dishes in the cupboard, and we had take-out pretty much every night. Today was supposed to be "house recovery" day but now, that is going to be a little hard.

Helle, I am sorry you aren't feeling well still. Here's to hoping three weeks goes by fast.

I am also disgruntled that there is even a possibility you might understand Goesta when you are not feeling tired, because I can't ever understand Goesta, whether I'm tired or not :)

In addition, Kendra, I wish to complain that you seem to think that you should be organised even when everyone in your family is sick/recovering, whereas I have no such excuse and I still have not even made the effort to post a cheque I'm late sending.

Kendra that is not easy that you have 3 sick kids and that you also was sick yourself last week, not easy to be a mother and wife. Then you also need to do laundry, puha I am already tired of all the things you need to do :-(

I wish you and your family a speedy recovery and take care

Thank you for your concern, I also hope that time passes quickly :-)

Generally, my oganization skills leave much to be desired but I am hungry and would like a cup of tea, and would love to know which clothes are clean and which ones are dirty since the above mentioned piles are also in the laundry baskets that NORMALLY hold the dirty clothes. This going to take a while.

A long while that I can see, you know what to do for a while. A cup of tea and something to eat sound like a good idea, that you can begin with and then make the chores?!?

message 1128: by Jerry (new)

Jerry I'm complaining that my husband gave me his cold. I fought it off for about 5 days, but now that post nasal drip is fully manifested. Fortunately I don't have 3 kids and a messy house. I do have to go to work. I just can't seem to get enough enthusiasm to do much. I would love to understand Goesta and his bothersome problem and everyone else's issues, but the electrical impulses from reservoir to brain keep shorting out. :(

I second this complaint!

Jerry, that is so not fair that you are sick!! You spent all that time this weekend planting your roses and now you won't be able to stop to smell them. Wait, are they even blooming yet? I like to say I have brown thumb, I kill all plants, but not on purpose, I promise. We moved into a house that had a cute little area with tulips and hostas that bloomed after we moved in and my first thought was "oh crap, what are those and what do I need to do with them?" It's really quite sad.

Ije the Devourer of Books | 14524 comments It is awful that so many members of the Complaints Department are ill (Jerry) or recovering from illness (Kendra and family) or having a hard time getting the support they need (Helle).

Helle having to pay 61 dollars for a taxi so that you can attend physio just sounds really unfair. I hope the next three weeks pass by very quickly so that you can begin your treatment.

Hang on in there everyone!!

Love and hugs to you all xxxxx

I am so damn tired and in pain, I do not have the energy to read :-( I hate it *grrr*

I am going to bed, I am tired before the time I really have want to stay awake (kl. 20) with is early :-(

Okay, so do I drop the "o" sound in "go" and add the "e" sound from "her" or do we keep them both to make it a little more challenging? The way I was pronouncing it was with the "go" (no "e") then the "stu." So is that close?

I hate figuring out how things are pronounced (when I say hate, I really mean love). My mother-in-law is 100% Polish (actually came over on the Queen Mary as a child) and so I have fun trying to figure out how various things are pronounced in the Polish language. I also live in Wisconsin where places like Waukesha, Menomonee Falls, and Wauwatosa tend to trip people up. As the following video shows.

Yes, yes, you could and many do, ditto (two of the English-speaking variants I have become pleasantly accustomed to, as former partners would say it like that).

I used to have an unusual name, or I should say uncommon, until a certain Girl Next Door became famous. What makes it worse is that our last names are so similar and we were born about 100 miles from each other, that when my husband googled me (I know, I already gave him crap for it) after we first started dating he said "Kendra, are you SURE there isn't anything you want to tell me about?" I about blew a gasket.
