POST COMPLAINTS HERE

Which website? To what are you referring? You've got several of us confused. Please clarify.

The group doesn't have any books on our library shelves except a few about complaining. Perhaps you are referring to books reviewed by some members instead of the Complaint Department's books?
But you are right this is a woman's website. And a man's website. And a website for transgendered people. And a website for LGBTQ and all sexual minorities including asexuals. It is a website for both readers and authors. It's a website for people who like to play book and word games. It's a website for lurkers and people who interact. If you have an interest or comments on subjects you can add to the section on Topics Created By Members and then it will be your website.
Enjoy :)

Sexual minorities? I know the point you're trying to make, but it's a bit overdone. Perhaps I should have said, PRIMARILY for women.
Jon wrote: "Sexual minorities? I know the point you're trying to make, but it's a bit overdone. You could prove us all wrong and I would love to see more people participate in general.
Just because I'm a lumberjack doesn't mean I enjoy dressing up in wimmin's clothes. There have been other reading website like Goodreads (I remember the now defunct Book Army), and all of them have a larger female-to-male ratio, but that reflects the real-world ratio of readers (which, as a red-blooded lumberjack, I regret).
:-))
I protest that I am feeling jealous of Oliver Frey. It isn't fair the way people praise him and so on, and now they've even started a Kickstart campaign to make him more money…Not fair!

Whatever the reason, the fact remains.
i wanna complain that exams are coming up and im stressing so muchalso it just hit me that maybe the reason my bf's parents dont fully respect my gender identity is because they follow a really ridiculous "news" source that is literally the fox news of canada. and no, they wont change
also im tired of the guy in the cafe at school always making disrespectful references towards trans people. i wish he would stop
and no matter how much i sleep, i am exhausted
thanks :P

Lack of something can really mess with you. It's hard to tell if you get enough though.
Wren (He or They) wrote: "I've started taking vitamin supplements because I was worried I wasn't getting enough. i dont know if they are enough or not "I've read somewhere that you may wait up to a month until you notice any results from taking vitamins. So don't count on anything fast ;)
Eat more bananas and apples :) well, more fruit in general.
and drink max two cups of coffee per day :)
I want to complain that I missed Eurovision contest this year :/
I don't know why I was so sure it was supposed to be today... :S
silly me
I would like to complain that whenever I cook waffles, they always turn out either too burnt or not done enough. I am sick of having to eat my own cooking, at least when the cooking is sub-par unedible waffles. But I am tough. I plan to keep trying until I get it right.
Roger wrote: "That's just terrible, Monika! How could you be so careless? :)"Ehhh, too much work and lack of sleep can do that to a person unfortunately... ;((
Bethany wrote: "I would like to complain that whenever I cook waffles, they always turn out either too burnt or not done enough. I am sick of having to eat my own cooking, at least when the cooking is sub-par uned..."
Yeah, I know the problem. It's called bad waffle iron. At least mine is. What's more, mine makes them almost burnt on one end and not cooked enough on the other. That's why I rarely cook waffles :/
As someone who prides himself on his cookery skills, I must moan that I have no trouble with waffles because I buy the ready-made toasting kind… :(
Roger wrote: "As someone who prides himself on his cookery skills, I must moan that I have no trouble with waffles because I buy the ready-made toasting kind… :("*gasp* that's cheating!
;PP
Hey again! I actually use the pre-made toasting kind, too, but since I have no toaster I just heat it up in the oven. Sadly I never am able to get the timing quite right, so it's always under-done or overdone.Today my rant is about author photos and how much I hate them. I never look good in any of the photos I take, and I don't have any photographer friends to solicit the help of. I just changed my author photo but am not sure how to feel about it. It looks too much like a "selfie", not professional enough.
(This rant is a thinly-veiled attempt at getting opinions on my author photo, btw)
Can i just complain that i am starting off summer vacation with a cold :/also i really really want to write a good short story for my wattpad page but im all out of ideas
Bethany wrote: "Hey again! I actually use the pre-made toasting kind, too, but since I have no toaster I just heat it up in the oven. Sadly I never am able to get the timing quite right, so it's always under-done ..."I like your author photo. It's got great shadowing!

Summer colds are worse than winter colds! Hope you feel better quickly.
How about a story about a character discovering the cure for the cold and having it go disastrously wrong?

hahahah maybe
and thanks

Hey, thanks guys for the compliments. *fluffs hair* My book sales dropped after I switched my author photo on my Smashwords page, so I ended up changing it to something a little less dark. I'm not sure if it matters, though. I did some research and looked up the author pages of a bunch of third-wave hipster feminist writers, to see what their author photos looked like, and then I thought maybe it's not feminist to think so much of my appearance. And judging from the wide variety of author photos on Smashwords (some of which are of people's cats, or a logo), it's possible maybe I overthink things.
Soooo anyway. /endrant
My complaint today is about my feet, because they hurt. I need to get new shoes, but I have a ridiculous amount of important things my money needs to take care of, like bills and stuff. But if my feet hurt, I should get shoes that don't hurt them, right? But all the shoes cost like sixty dollars. You'd think that, given the law of supply and demand, since there is such a high demand for shoes, the shoe people would be able to lower prices a little bit.
Alas.
Oh, also I'd like to complain about the fact that whenever I post complaints it feels like I'm whining about ridiculous things that don't matter. Does anyone else feel that way? I have a pretty good life, all things considered. Sometimes I think I am just typing to distract myself from my actual problems. There is a flock of seagulls outside my apartment building - that's the real problem here. When I find the guy who keeps throwing bread out his window for the birds, I'll kick him. (not really, assault is illegal)
Dear National Football League: please stop contracting with DirecTV. NFL is the only reason we use them for television and I am sick and damn tired of the stupid satellite re-positioning itself whist searching for my non-existent servers. Upon not finding those servers the screen has the gall to ask "Try again?" No, I only want to watch my basketball game, is that too much to ask? I want to push that reset button right up someone's orifice, painfully.
I'm a bit upset. The Kickstarter campaign to publish the expanded edition of The Fantasy Art Of Oliver Frey only asked for £15,000 but it just closed with £26,440. How does a thing like that happen?
Due to the slaughter of 49 LGBT individuals in Miami I am too numbed by this massacre to post anything online. As a gay man I consider the people who were murdered as my brothers and sisters and my grief is too deep to respond now.
I wish I could post a FB friend's video taken from a window two floors up in London's Old Compton Street that shows the tens of thousands who made a human sea in the street that London's LGBT community have made one of their own, even more so since the murderous nail bombing of the Admiral Duncan pub in 1999. The thousands held hands in solidarity with Orlando.
The best we who belong to the Complaint Department can do to honor those who are dead as a result of the mass murders in Miami of the of gay, lesbian and others is to watch Anderson Cooper read the names of the dead and say a little bit about them. His recitation of the dead does include some photos. Please pay homage to these martyrs by watching the brief but highly emotional video:

I want to complain that I am going to do an author interview for my blog but all the bloggers ive contacted have not replied and the group i posted in isnt responding to my thread. This is my first author interview and I just want some advice.
I have been horrified by the post-Orlando reactions by a certain number of "Christian" preachers. I mean, really, people, those kinds of reactions and you wonder why more and more people are dropping out of your religion? >makes frustration noises<
Wren [t(he)y] wrote: "I want to complain that I am going to do an author interview for my blog but all the bloggers ive contacted have not replied and the group i posted in isnt responding to my thread. This is my first..."Will this be electronically or verbal? If it's electronically, you can take your time and breath. If it's verbal (Skype, etc.), just remember to breath. Authors are cool people.
Make sure you have a list of questions you want to ask. Write them down so you don't forget!
What kind of books does this author write? You can always ask how they got started on writing those type of books. Also asking what they'd like to branch out into in the future is a great question too.

Oh, hey! Sorry that I haven't been around so much. Real-life obligations got in the way.Anyway, I've been instructed by our fearless leader to post self-promotions and advertisements for my writing on the main Post Complaints Here thread, so here you go.
The URL to my Smashwords website has changed. Here's the new link: http://www.smashwords.com/profile/vie...
My work's main focus is poetry and M/M romance, but I've also got a few random short stories, usually horror and realistic fiction.
And here's a link to my newest book, Gutter Sludge: Poems from Your Scary Ex which is a very short poetry collection about rape culture, abuse, and family estrangement.

Thanks for putting up with me! <3
I'm PO'd it took so long for the all volunteer US military to allow all qualified Americans to volunteer. But now the Pentagon has finally said it was ending the ban on transgender people being able to serve openly in the U.S. military.
The announcement -- which removes one of the last barriers to military service by any individual -- was made by Defense Secretary Ash Carter, who had been studying this no-brainer issue for almost a year.
The decision comes as the military has witnessed major changes in the role of women and the inclusion of gays, lesbians and bisexual service members in recent years.
I'd like to complain that I messaged an LGBT helpline for quebec residents and was immediately snubbed for being english.
Wren [t(he)y] wrote: "I'd like to complain that I messaged an LGBT helpline for quebec residents and was immediately snubbed for being english."That's just wrong. Such helplines exist to help, and should do so across boundaries and languages. I'm sorry you had a horrible experience, Wren. :(
Wren [t(he)y] wrote: "I'd like to complain that I messaged an LGBT helpline for quebec residents and was immediately snubbed for being english."If you don't speak French the Québécois won't speak to you without you giving them lots of money. If you are lying bleeding on the sidewalk (pavement) they will simply step over you if you cannot speak their language. You must even bleed in French.
They don't care that they are rude and in fact are rather proud of it.
Thanks to both of you. Its ridiculous and upsetting and far too common of an attitude around here.On that note I'd like to complain about something else. How so often, facebook groups for trans people get trolled and you find people posting transphobic stuff, graphic images and things such as photos of dead and mutilated dogs, such as the one I just saw :(
Also I recently found out that my bf's family doesn't respect me, some members call me my dead name behind my back, another member of his family is more homophobic and sexist than I thought, and I'm even more uncomfortable around them now.
Ugh! Everyone has somebody whose job it to make us uncomfortable. You have been inundated with these buggers whose seem to think homophobia and sexism is the purpose of life. Wren you have been building up a powerful strength to know these people have evil opinions that should be ignored. Plus you have the Complaint Department where you know you'll always be welcome and never harassed by any form of discrimination against gender or sexual orientation.
We have come to be very fond of you so hang in there and know that the loved ones you have in your life outweigh any jerks who make you feel bad because of who you are.
Healing Hugs, Preston

What is a "women's website"?"
I browsed several books - most were written by or for women.
