Complaint Department discussion
POST COMPLAINTS HERE
I am agitated and distressed that while Aves and Jerry and a several other members of both the Complaint Department and the M/M Romance group voted for my all time favorite M/M Romance A Life Apart for the M/M Romance Group Book of the Month in the Unrestricted Category I am going to be weeping and sobbing like little kid who got a boo boo because not enough people are voting to make certain that it will win. Well it is the number one choice right now but anything could happen and it could lose :'(
I so much want it to be voted Unrestricted BOM so everyone in the M/M Romance group can get a chance enjoy together the sweet and endearing story of Love and War (historical romance British 1884 Mahdist War) with dearest and brave Edward and his devoted and heroic one true love Richard — soldiers separated in wartime by tragic circumstances. Will the ever be reunited?
Poor Roger (British Author Roger Kean) and his partner of of a lifetime Zack who are both member of the Complaint Department and the M/M Romance group can't access Goodreads right now to advocate for A Life Apart themselves because they are in cold and wet Rome for a few of days doing historical research for the sequel. (and maybe throwing some coins in the fountain just be he romantic couple they have been for decdes :-)
So since Roger, who has freely volunteered his time to be available as an active participant on the book discussion and answer questions, cannot urge you himself to give his book a chance to win your hearts with its adventure and passion I'm doing the urging.
So I urge you... <-urge-> <-urge-> to got to http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/79... and vote in the Unrestricted Category for A Life Apart.
The book is leading the vote now but with 36 hours left to vote (ends tomorrow!) the time is now critical for M/M Romance group members support the lovers Edward and Richard as they fight their way through North Africa to be reunited. Help them before it's to late for these brave young British soldiers to find true love and happiness together.
Remember the 3rd rule is don't complain about or criticize other members or their comments. Nevertheless you may criticize the moderator. So feel free to criticize, find fault, kick up a fuss, object, protest, air your grievances, grumble, carp, fuss, lament, bemoan, bewail, moan, whine, carry on, groan, kvetch, remonstrate, beef, bellyache, moan and groan, grouse, gripe, grump, bleat, whinge, squawk, squeal, and raise a stink about me doing the shameless campaigning for my favorite lovers Roger and Zack and Richard and Edward.
Thank you.

Thank you Macky and thank all the wonderful women who are advocating for equal rights for marriage. Without your support Tom and I wouldn't be getting married this Sumner because same gender matrimony would still be illegal in New York State.
Think what a message legalized equal rights for marriage would send to bullied and troubled gay teens who too often become tragic victims rather than face a life alone and unaccepted by society
If it were not for the advocacy of women for people of all sexual orientations I and millions of other gay men would be living in a word so much more oppressive than we face today.
Thank you moms and wives and girlfriends and women of all ages and circumstances for your advocacy!

Like you didn't.... I mean — it chagrins me to say it should never be against the rules to thank the wonderful women who support us gay guys! (Even the dumb jocks like me and my Tom.)

I am extremely upset that you had to make me all emotional and stuff. What's amazing is that I never really thought about it before I began to read m/m romance. I was one of those that it was more on the peripheral of my life. But after reading these books, I looked at my kids and realized that I NEVER wanted them to feel that they were less than equal to everyone else; that no person should be made to feel that way.
I feel like I should break out into song or some crap (oh, is that on the no-no list?). :-)

You're welcome hun. It warms the cockles of my heart when I hear that any same gender couple is able to choose to do something that should be an inherent right for everyone anyway, but it also breaks my heart for the people still being denied. I wish you and your lovely man a long loving partnership, so congrats from a complaining old Brit Bitch ( is that a no no ?). Oh I'm really annoyed you made me be nice on the complaints thread.... Grr argh!

Seriously? Dumb jocks? Is that like when I call myself a dumb blonde?

I voted xx

Kendra, my mum and dad are in their 80's and they brought my sister and I up to never judge people for their colour, religion or sexual preference. My mums a tiger when it comes to injustice. That's why I feel like I do now. You're a great mum and your kids are going to grow up with a wonderful outlook on life! Oh forgot rule 1.......err .... I'm peeved that I'm getting all soppy and cheesy!

OK lovely Lucas and all my aggravating friends.I'm having a strop now because I want to start my new book and I'm being held hostage by GR and this complaint group! Who invented the Internet? It's too addictive ;)

Yes! Whether or not you agree with it God wants us to be loving. It is possible to disagree with someones sexuality and be loving at the same time. My parents do it every day with my brother. Looking in on our family you wouldn't be able to tell that they don't agree with my brother and his boyfriend's relationship, but they don't. It's completely against all of their beliefs, but they accept the boyfriend into our family and he's always welcome in family events. Every so often my mom will make a silly comment like, "I want to treat them like any other normal couple." Uh MOM! They are normal! Point is, you don't have to believe in someone's sexuality to be tolerant and loving towards them. Why can't everyone be as awesomazing as us? Sheesh.
I voted :) Maybe I'll read that one for my BOM since it's so highly recommended.

Besides blowing the roof off the place, bringing the house down, and flattening every pretender to the throne of pop music royalty, she gave a textbook lesson to every other performer that night on maximizing one's voice; and showmanship, real, old-fashioned, unadulterated showmanship. No profanity, no side boobs, no auto-tuning.
A singer of Shirley Bassey's generation and legendary reputation couldn't even conceive of lip-synching her way through any live performance, never mind the Oscars.

I'm narked at the Oscars anyway. All it is is a bunch of beautiful people who get paid shedloads for doing a really fun job congratulating each other on how great they are. I would prefer a bunch of not-quite-so beautiful people who get paid bugger all for doing a boring job grumbling about each other. Oh wait, that's my workplace!

I am still hot under the collar that poor Jacob got attacked for using a photo of a guy (not himself) when almost everyone, especially our women friends in the M/M romance group have photos of guys as their profile pic.
I know this is your first comment here but just a friendly reminder that rule number 1 says that:
"...all posts must be posed in the form of complaints such I am: miffed, annoyed, irritated, displeased, aggrieved, nettled, hurt, offended, put out, resentful, upset, vexed, irked, disgruntled, chagrined, piqued, in a huff, peeved, cheesed off, narked, irritated, P.O.’d, and enraged.
If you wish to say something positive when posting a comment use something like "I am really annoyed that I can not tell you how wonderful the founder/moderator is."
Thank you for your wonderful complaint in support of our first complainer, Jacob.

How I love the humour of group our members from all over Prydain Fawr, not just Cymru.

Ditto what Jen said. So annoying.

I'm slightly miffed that I am disturbing you Cmbwey, but as you mentioned alcohol I'll dampen my miffednessingness and say that as much as the wine sounds great it would probably have to be something more boring like hot chocolate because around my campfire there'd probably be scouts and girl guides .... thats generally the only reason I'd be singing Cumbaya, If they weren't around its more likely I'd be singing something more adult like " My sex is on Fire "by the kings of Leon. Probably not a great song to sing round an actual fire though!

I am mightily peed off that Jen even has smilies when l don't.
I wish to register my annoyance that the rules state 'no profanity' when clearly Macky has skirted round this rule simply by adding 'baya' to the end of her profanity. Is that acceptable? No. I'm also seething that l lol'd at the whole 'sex on fire' image and had to pretend to my daughter that l was laughing at something on TV to protect her from finding out about my warped and twisted mind.

I wanted to complain about that too, but l thought it was just my poor timekeeping so l kept schtum in case l got in trouble. I hate being such a wimp!

And I'm really pissed that I'll never not think of Sex on Fire while I'm sitting around my chiminea fire.

Good for you Kendra. All mums should be teaching their kids acceptance and tolerance. Please know that this is no offence to your MIL, my coming rant is not directed at her personally but its something that has always got me hot under the collar. The god argument is just a weak excuse to try and justify intolerance and ignorance. It amazes me that people still can't accept that love has no boundaries and everyone's sexuality is their own norm! Problem is its learned behaviour so that's why it's important we teach our kids that straight is NOT the one and only way!
