I can't remember exact details, but the book was about how the world "ended" and a new one was beginning.. there was a girl who was handicapped and in the new world they were not accepted and were sent to exile.. her father had apparently died while hunting and was eaten by animals... they spoke about extracting the color from flowers to make dye for thread, blue flowers were significant..
