The running of the bulls is a practice that involves running in front of a small group of cattle, typically six, that have been let loose in the streets of a town. The most famous event occurs in Pamplona, Spain.

description

You will need to wear a white shirt and white trousers with a red waistband and neckerchief. And really, really good running shoes. A few rules: run in the same direction as the bulls, be at least 18 years old, and not under the influence of alcohol.

For this challenge, you must read the requirement for six of the seven bulls listed. You can combine two bulls for each book if you desire. Each book needs to be at least 200 pages.

These six seven famous bulls are scheduled for your run.

Ferdinand - read a children's book

Babe the blue ox - read a book with a mostly blue cover

Nandi (Translates to happy or joyous)- read a book with a happy character

Taurus (constellation) - read a book with stars on the cover

Minotaur - read a book that involves Greek mythology

John Bull - read a book with a character by the name of John or something similar

The Chicago Bulls - read a book where someone plays or watches a sports game

To complete this month, I have to do all of the tasks -- meaning I have to read a 200 pg children's book? Am I interpreting this correctly?

message 8: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20889 comments Mod
Yes, all six tasks need to be completed to reach the finish line.

But you can combine two tasks if you want to. If you find a children's book with a character named Johnny, that's good.

Don't tell anyone, but I haven't read The Lightning Thief yet. I will probably knock off those two tasks with that book.

The Lightning Thief is considered a YA book - so are you accepting any YA book for a children's book? Maybe a better way to ask is if a YA book is also shelved as a children's book, it's okay?

I'm very flexible about the children's designation :) I know my son would have read it in 4th, 5th or 6th grade.

And 966 people have shelved it as a children's book.

Okay. Thanks - I'm not sure about this challenge this month. The 200 page minimum is killing a lot of my options on using books from other challenges :-( I'll have to look at my planning again. Maybe I'll be back with a list.

Well, this might actually help me out. I hated passing on the challenge but I just didn't see how I was going to fit in a children's/YA book this month. But now that we only need 6 of the 7, I think I can probably swing this. So YAY!!
