Cara (sierraaubergine) I've been noticing a lot of my friends are reading The Selection Series, and I just thought it would be cool to have a book chat about them. If you've read any of them, what did you like about them? Who would you recommend them too? What did you not like about them?
If you haven't read them, are you planning to, or do they not seem interesting to you?
Whatever your views, I'd love to hear them. just post below. :D

Haley S (haleyjs) I LOVE this series!! I would definitely recommend this series to all teen girls who like romance,

avery joy I wanted to read this book because I like romance as long as it's not too much...this book looked this the romance might be too much so I haven't read it...

Haley S (haleyjs) There is a lot of romance, i have to say that. The whole point of the story is for Maxon to find a wife. But it was still really well written.

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments They go quite far in the first book but not like all the way far u know

message 6: by Anna (new) - added it

Anna Is it inappropriate? I mean, what do you mean by quite far? Just don't be graphic..:D

message 7: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Would you guys recommend them to someone who loved the Hunger Games? Was it sorta like those?

message 8: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Oh, and was there any swearing? If so, how bad was it?

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments Like the d word,h,a,b.. You get the picture but defiantly not clean language ( the first book is not that bad but those are the word you will hear quite a bit though out the series) and the almost s*x is inappropriate.. Almost comes down to thing I don't want to say. In the fist one it almost happens about 3 times.. In the second book it happens just once and the third book. Once almost twice... You get the picture

Haley S (haleyjs) Sierra wrote: "Would you guys recommend them to someone who loved the Hunger Games? Was it sorta like those?"

Yes!! It is sorta of like the hunger games but with all girls. They all fight to win but they don't kill each other. And there is a lot of drama

message 11: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) Thanks Chanel! That's exactly what I was going to ask about, actually.

Haley S (haleyjs) :) great minds think alike!

message 13: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) Yes! :-)

Haley S (haleyjs) :)

Haley S (haleyjs) have you read it Halee?

message 16: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) no...From what chanel said I'm not going to read it. :-(

Haley S (haleyjs) Oh, it is very good though.

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments Ohh don't let my opinion stop you.. It's very well written just swearing and that kinda stuff

message 19: by Halee (new)

Halee (im4israel) Not allowed to read books with swearing and inappropriate content.

message 20: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) can you guys think of any other series that are just starting to become popular?

Haley S (haleyjs) This series isn't as popular, i think but it is becoming a movie. The first book is at least. Ascendance Trilogy by Jennifer A. Neilson. It is AMAZING!!

message 22: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) I read the first one (the false prince) and i really liked it! I didn't know it was going to be a movie! Thats so exciting! I've been meaning to read the rest of the series but i couldn't get into the second book.

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments Did you hear that Warner bros bought the copyrights to make the selection a movie!!

Chantel (channylee07) Chanel wrote: "Did you hear that Warner bros bought the copyrights to make the selection a movie!!"

Yes! I was pretty excited about it, lol. I think Warner Bros. picked it up a year ago. It's going to be pretty interesting who they pick to play the main character's.

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments Ya!! I just don't know about it if there going to show all the almost s*x in it ??

Chantel (channylee07) I hope not...

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments Ya

Haley S (haleyjs) Chanel wrote: "Did you hear that Warner bros bought the copyrights to make the selection a movie!!"

I literally freaked out!!

Haley S (haleyjs) Chanel wrote: "Ya!! I just don't know about it if there going to show all the almost s*x in it ??"

I know. I hope they don't make it to much..

Haley S (haleyjs) Sierra wrote: "I read the first one (the false prince) and i really liked it! I didn't know it was going to be a movie! Thats so exciting! I've been meaning to read the rest of the series but i couldn't get into ..."

I know!! I didn't know until a few weeks ago!! Really? That is what happened to me. I couldn't get into the second book. Then i re-read False Prince and then re started the second book. I couldn't put it down then. You should definitely re start the second book!!!!

message 31: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Yeah, i should! xD

message 32: by Rampion (last edited Jun 26, 2015 11:39AM) (new) - added it

Rampion (rampion2) I just checked The Selection out from the library, and I was curious if it was clean. (No swearing, super extreme violence, etc.)

message 33: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) Well, I haven't read them but Chanel said earlier that there was some swearing. The d, h, a and b words.

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I wouldn't say it was clean. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but it also didn't seem necessary. I mean, when is that kind of stuff ever necessary? I don't like romance, so that's probably the reason I didn't like the book that much, but I also didn't care for the characters. I'm not going to read the rest of the books. I actually looked up spoilers just to satisfy my curiosity about where the story went without having to read the other books. Plus, I couldn't get my hands on them. Jsyk girls, this is just my personal opinion based only on the first book. :)

avery joy I haven't read this series but from what I've heard I definitely don't want to...

Haley S (haleyjs) Oh, I LOVE the series but then again, I love romance!!

Haley S (haleyjs) Oh, I LOVE the series but then again, I love romance!!

message 38: by Cara (new)

Cara (sierraaubergine) :)

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Yeah, that makes sense though Haley cause I don't care for romance and that's the main reason I didn't like it. :)

avery joy I like romance but not too much...if ya know what I mean. Insurgent was a bit much for my opinion.

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) Yeah, I think Insurgent went over the top.

avery joy I only read the the insurgent book. I haven't seen the movie.

Haley S (haleyjs) I really didn't care but I definitely do NOT like it when they go tooooooo far.

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments Ya! Same here! There were some parts that didn't really need to be there

Haley S (haleyjs) Yah....

message 46: by Brandi (new)

Brandi | 73 comments Sounds like it goes a bit overboard. I enjoy romance as well (looking forward to my first kiss, though saving it for my wedding day) but anything beyond kissing is TMI to me. I'd rather not know much about things that are meant to be secret until marriage until I'm married.

message 47: by M.K. (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 77 comments I agree Brandi!! It is good to know they are still people in the world who plan to stay pure. Its a very important thing that people don't take seriously now days. *hand clap* (:

Chanel (channel12) | 52 comments I'm not sure if I'm going to save my first kiss for marriage.... I'm def going to save the "other stuff" for marriage but not sure about first kiss

message 49: by Brandi (new)

Brandi | 73 comments Thanks, Mary Kate! I'm committed to savin' all of me (By the way, love the song by MercyMe. Look up All of Me when you get the chance!) for my future husband someday. And also awesome (and refreshing) to know some others are too! :)

message 50: by M.K. (new)

M.K. Aneal (mkaneal) | 77 comments Always welcome Brandi(: And oh, I love Mercyme but I don't know if I've listened to that one. I will have to(;
