The discussion for this book will be here. I will make a folder for the other BOTM once it is announced.

Some said before they didn't like changing perspectives (in The Winter People), but this is narrated by one character, just in the present as an adult and in the past as a preteen. That might work better for some.
I don't think it's a spoiler to say so, but one thing that struck me as sad throughout the book was the cruelty directed at Del, the potato girl. There wasn't the kind of 'awareness' about bullying in 1971 that there is today. Reading about how Del was treated just about broke my heart. I think everyone has had some experience of bullying from childhood - sometimes the victim, sometimes the bully. I'm glad people seem to take it more seriously now than they did in the past.

I am sad to say I may not make it to this one this month. I am still working on a few others. Also, I haven't found it yet. I may have to use Amazon or books-a-million's website.
