This is a team reading challenge that will run from July 1st 2015 to July 31st 2015. Results will be announced on August 1st 2015.
For this challenge we have a grid of 100 boxes, behind each box is a points score!
These boxes are made up of:
5 bombs worth 0 points each
32 boxes worth +1 point
40 boxes worth +2 points
18 boxes worth +3 points
4 boxes worth +4 points
and 1 gold star worth +5 points!
How to play -
- Read and review your books as you normally would
- When you post your review, pick a box from #1 to #100
Rules -
* Books must be read between the 1st of July to the 31st of July inclusive.
* Books must be over 100 pages long to earn points and boxes (for books under 100 pages you may claim the pages only)
* Bonus points for buddy reads will only be given for buddy reads which take place within our group, and where the participant has made 4 detailed comments about the book.
* Please check with us about re-reads before reading.
* Our regular challenge rules can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
* Points for bonus boxes will only be updated weekly, as all teams will be using the same grid.
* You may choose whichever boxes you wish each time you submit a review, even if you or someone in your team has previously chosen them.
Points -
* 1 point for every book read and reviewed.
* Buddy reads (which take place within our group) will gain the team/player 1 bonus point for books 100 - 449 pages long, or 2 bonus points for books 450+ pages long.
* for every 1000 pages read, the team/player will receive 5 equaliser points.
* For each book read and reviewed you will be able to choose one box, and you will gain the points found in this box.
* For each confirmed buddy read you will be able to choose a second box, and receive the points inside that too. (If you buddy read is for a book longer then 450 pages, then you can choose 2 bonus boxes).

(= +1 point for book, +1 point for buddy read, + points from box 12, + points from box 23 + points from box 34 + 456 pages)
This challenge will be a team challenge. When signing up please let us know if you want to join a 'Serious' team (reading 8 books or more), or a 'Just for fun' team (reading any number of books). You may also choose to only take part in the 'solo' part of the challenge (there will also be one winner who has earned the most points overall, those people in teams will be automatically entered into the solo challenge as well).
** With reards to books not started in July - you may claim any pages read in July, but you can only claim pages, you won't be able to use any books started before July (or shorter than 100 pages) to claim any of the boxes ☺
So, if you are finishing a book in July that you started in June, you are welcome to post the book and review on your team thread, and claim the number of pages read in July ☺
** And with regards to posting lots of reviews all at once, we ask that everybody be up-to-date with posting their reviews by the 27th of July please, just so everybody knows where their team stands with time still to change things ☺
