Evangeline continued the pout, letting go of his arm and pulling the comforter around herself in retaliation. "Wrong answer," she huffed, laying on her back and trying her hardest to hide the half smile on her lips, fighting to not reach out from the blanket to grab his hand, to force him to lay closer to her, to force him to hold her. "I think you think I'm cute whether I'm asleep and vulnerable or awake and sarcastic," she suggested, puffing a bit of rebellious hair that kept trying to block her eyesight from Alex.

The grin on Alexanders face grew more when she continued pouting and he rolled his eyes slightly when she turned away from him. "Come here." Alexander grumbled with some amusement in his voice as he moved closer to her and once he managed to wrap his arms around her after he got his arms through the comforter he pulled her on top of him so that she was laying on top facing towards him so that Evangeline could see the grin on his face. "You know that I think you're cute both ways."
Evangeline allowed Alex to wrap his arms around her and pull her atop him with little resistance, managing to bring the comforter with her so it rested over them like a leaf that hid them from everyone else. She hummed in agreement, her hair falling over one side of her face and blocking their eyes from the harsh winter sun. "I think you're a very smartman," she said softly, her hands tucked up against his bare chest. She gently ran her fingers along the sculpt of his muscles, her breathing even with his. "I think... you're a very handsome man, too. The handsomest there is." She smiled softly, a genuine smile this time, and knew that lately -or, the past ten years or so- Alex had been the only one to actually get her to smile. She pressed her lips softly to his and then pulled away, snuggling into his body perfectly.
Alexander felt a bit of gratitude when she pulled the comforter on them which blocked the sun from his eyes and made their surroundings a bit darker. He looked at her with an faint smile at her words while at the same time he was aware of her hands pressed against the bare skin on his chest which quickly turned to him biting the bottom of his lip to avoid making any noise as she began running her fingers along his chest. "Where are the compliments coming from all of the sudden?" He managed to say with some amusement and strain in his voice. Amusement because he found her compliments a bit funny in a way as she had started saying them out of nowhere and strain because he was doing his best to ignore the feeling of her fingers tracing along his skin which sent small shivers of delight through his body.
"What, I can't just be nice to my mate?" Evangeline feigned an offended look, furrowing her brows and creating a small o with her lips. She pecked his jaw, drawing her tracing on his muscles up to his shoulders and resting her hands there. "What? Did you think I was buttering you up for something?" She traced a vein in his skin, resting her chin on a fist had its elbow resting on his chest. "I'm surprised you think so low of me," she teased, her voice dropping before a soft grin finally broke out, and she pushed her hair out of her face.
Despite himself Alexander couldn't help but chuckle softly at the offended look on her face that she was trying to fake. He shifted slightly underneath her as he moved to an more comfortable position and became still again, placing his arms on her waist. Her shirt was lifted up a bit so that some of her skin was showing and he lightly brushed his fingers along the exposed skin. Underneath his touch her skin felt smooth and warm to the touch in which he enjoyed it a bit. "I don't but if you knew the effects that you have on me then you would understand."
"The effects?" Evangeline pressed, letting out a soft breath with his touch. "So... I'm manipulative." She smiled anyway, pressing two fingers of one hand to her temples and to fingers of her other hand to his temple. "Are you so sure I don't? We do have a link, you know," she hummed on, gently moving her fingers aside to brush a bit of hair out of his eyes, then tracing his eyebrow.
Alexander nodded his head slightly at her words but then after a moment of thinking it over he added "But in a good way." He smiled faintly at her touch and listened to her words though before he could get the chance to answer back he was distracted by the feeling of her fingers tracing his eyebrow. The feeling alone managed to occupy him for the next few seconds before he said "I'm know that, I'm not dumb. Besides if you know how you make me feel whenever you touch me then it means your either teasing me, you enjoy seeing me act like this or you hope that I don't hold back." Upon his last words he opened his eyes and shot her an teasing look as he slowly moved his hands up to underneath the middle of her back before moving them back down just as slow as he continued the action.
At this, Evangeline sat up, pursing her lips with one hand resting on his torso -which she straddled lightly so his hands were still on her back- , and the other on his face. She bit down on her lower lip, looking out the window as it didn't seem so harsh now. She took a deep breath and shrugged a shoulder. "Maybe I just want to enjoy you, just like this, while we're still safe to do so," she suggested quietly, her hair falling into her face a bit as she looked back down at him. "Maybe I just want to kiss and touch you as if we would never have had trouble for it."
When Alexander felt her get up he felt a bit alarmed that he had done something wrong and she was going to leave but it was quickly replaced with relief when she didn't leave but instead was straddling his torso. He silently watched her as he waited for her to say something while at the same time his hands continued moving along her back albeit with more restraint then before. After a couple of seconds she talked again with him remaining silent as he listened then once she was done he moved so that he was sitting up halfway with her straddling his lap. "Look, you don't need to worry. Remember your my mate, not nicks so you can do whatever you want and if you want to take things slowly then I will respect you're choice and do what you want."
"That's more space than he ever granted me," Evangeline replied with a light chuckle, although the expression on her face turned dark. She tucked her arms around his neck and held him close, resting her face into the crook of his neck and taking in deep breaths of his scent. "I trust you, I promise I do," she found herself saying, despite the mini panic attack she had had the previous night. That hadn't been his fault, it was Nick's, and she would outgrow it. "I just... I think we need to be careful. Not just because of Nick, but because of everything and everyone around us. I want to... I want to be with you, but we have to think about how big of a message everyone would see it as if anyone found out." She pressed her lips gently to his neck but closed her eyes, holding him to her.
Despite the fact that Evangeline found her own words funny Alexander himself didn't and instead just looked at her with an blank expression. He relaxed a bit when he felt her arms go around his neck and he slide his hands down to her sides though kept his hands against her skin. He couldn't help but shiver faintly when she breathed against his neck though at the same time it tickled his skin a bit. He was content with just holding her as she talked in which he listened to her every word. He remained silent as he thought her words over in his mind before he spoke up. "I know what you mean and I agree a bit but to be honest you shouldn't worry about it. What we do is our own business, no one else's and I have a feeling that whatever we do gramps, pelijo, laelee and loyke will understand." then with a hint of an smile and teasing in his voice he added "Plus then people will know that your mine instead of nicks and if they touch you they'll have to answer to me." The last part was partly to try to make her laugh and mostly because he was serious.
Evangeline forced a smile, her teeth gently brushing against Alex's smooth neck. "I think it should already be obvious that I'm yours," she said softly, her voice humming against his skin. "All the same? I think... we should wait. Just a bit." She pulled away with her arms still around him, his hands on her sides sending shivers through her skin. She smiled genuinely this time and looked to the snow-crested window. "Want to go for a run?" she asked, her fangs peeking out without her meaning to let them show in a grin as she peeked back over at him.
Despite himself Alexander let out an small involuntary groan when he felt her teeth graze his neck and immediately felt his own face heat up in embarrassment at the sudden noise. Another one almost escaped him when she talked but he managed to keep it down by concentrating on his own thoughts. He nodded his head slightly in agreement and looked back at her when the mention of a run suddenly lit his face like a little kid getting candy until he managed to regain control over his emotions with an embarrassed look on his face. "Yea but we should visit Loyke as well so that she'll know that you're safe."
Evangeline nodded her head, taking one of his hands and squeezing it. The look on his face that he tried to cool amused her, and she smirked slightly, forcing her fangs back in their place. "Where is she?" Evangeline asked as she realized that she truly hadn't been told of where Alex had brought her. Hopefully she was safe and currently out of Nick's path of destruction- Evangeline trusted Alex to not leave her anywhere of danger.
It took a couple of minutes for Alexander to remember properly where he had dropped Loyke off then once he had fully remembered he said "I dropped Loyke off further up the highway near my parents old house. Hopefully, if she listened to my warning about not leaving the house, she'll still be there comfortable, safe and waiting for us." At the word "parents" the corners of his mouth twitched slightly as if holding back an smile. He gave Evangeline an quick but gentle kiss before moving her back onto the bed and getting up onto his feet, looking back at her with amusement. "Are you ready?"
Evangeline raised her arms above her head and stretched, releasing a long breath before standing and combing a hand through her hair. "If you are," she said softly, taking his hand and leading out of the room. Once they were outside, she took in two long breaths of the freezing air, grateful to be out of the house that held too many bitter memories, even if it was for a little while. "I'm inclined to have Loyka stay out of town, for now," she said softly, her fangs appearing again as she braced herself out of her wish to even half-shift.
"Of course I am." Alexander replied and he smiled faintly when she took his hand, giving hers an gentle squeeze as he followed her out of the room. He walked with her through the house in silence until they made it outside and an small shiver of excitement ran down his spine. As much as he had enjoyed being inside a house and laying in bed with Evangeline he still preferred being outdoors. "Honestly its not our choice to make. It's Loyke choice if she wants to stay or go." He said then glancing at her he noticed she seemed hesitant so he figured that he might go first as to encourage. Taking his hand from her grip he walked forward which turned into an short run as with the sound of fabric ripping he shifted into his full wolf form where he came to an stop a few feet from Evangeline, his large jet black form standing out against the white snow as he looked back to her and gave her an teasing look as if saying "What's taking you so long?"
"I just... I don't want Nick to use her against me again," said Evangeline softly, too worn out -despite the sleep- of the entire situation to sound too defensive. She watched Alex take the lead in shifting and smiled softly, running a hand through her hair and closing her eyes, focusing and taking a deep breath before darting off the porch, landing into the snow with a loud, happy growl in her full wolf form. She hadn't shifted completely in months, and she circled back around to snuffle against Alex, the patch of silvery white on her chest against her dark gray coat heaving with her breaths.
Watching Evangeline standing there on the porch Alexander felt an slight feeling of nostalgic hit him though that quickly went away as soon as Evangeline had joined him. He couldn't help but find that she was beautiful even as an wolf though this mainly appealed to his own in which he returned Evangeline's gesture with an nuzzle of his own, his head gently pressing against the side of her neck than with an rather playful look to his eyes Alexander bumped his head against Evangelines side with enough force to push her into the snow on her side though was sure to avoid doing it hard enough that he could end up hurting her before thinking "Try to catch me if you can!" as he darted off into the tree line all the while kicking up snow as he ran in the direction of the house that Loyke was at. Evangeline felt free in her wolf form, even more so with Alex. She nuzzled alongside him affectionately, letting out a surprised oof when he shoved her over with his skull. She fell sideways into the snow, her gray fur dusted white now, a look of calculation in her eyes as she saw him stand upright and bolt away with a teasing thought. She pushed herself to stand and darted after him quickly, gaining balance and catching up a little of the ways into the woods, running with a leap and tackling him from the side to the ground. She let out a playful growl and nipped gently at his shoulder, her heat rising and falling from the bare effort.((sorry it's short.))
During the run Alexander coukd tell withiut needing to look behind him that Evangeline was runnning after him evident by the sound of her breathing and her heart beating. Deciding totake ut easy on her Alexander slowed down a bit until next thing he knew he was sprawled on the ground with Evangeline nipping at him which was something that seemed to anuse Alexander by the deep rolling sound coming from him as if chuckling before climbing up to his feet as he thought "Alright you caught me so you win. Lets get going." For the next hour Alexander went at an pace that was an cross between an jog and run as he just enjoyed being out there in the forest with Evangeline by his side before coming out the trees to reveal an clearing where an two story house stood in which Alexander immediately walked to, coming to an stop in front of the front door and scratching at it a few times .
