Taylor | 0 comments Sorry, I meant to say that I removed his soul and it is now in my knife. I'm an exorcist.

*Caesar begins to drool*

Okay, guys.

Of all the threads in this group, this one is at least a little bit serious. So, stop spamming it unless you really have a question or suggestion!

message 262: by Sevania (new)

Sevania (sevthedev) | 2512 comments Sorry!

Okay, I posted this a while ago but I think it kinda got lost:

I suggest a topic called Library Hauls. They don't quite fit under What Are You Reading because you're not reading everything you got at the library yet.

message 263: by Dana (new)

Dana (danachewy) | 735 comments I second that, only because now it's summer, and I can totally, like, go to the library A LOT.

Well, Sev, are you going to make the topic or are you going to wait for a mod to do it?

message 264: by Sevania (new)

Sevania (sevthedev) | 2512 comments Do I need at least a mod's approval before I do it?

message 265: by Annemarie, hi (last edited Jul 06, 2013 08:02AM) (new)

Annemarie Carlson (annielawlz) | 3393 comments Mod
You can do it. You don't really need mod approval to make a topic like this since it's clearly not spam. :)

message 266: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 0 comments Can we have a brainstorming topic? People can come and say, "I have an idea for this, but it has some holes," and other members come and give suggestions or (preferably) just ask questions to help get the creative juices flowing.

message 267: by Sevania (new)

Sevania (sevthedev) | 2512 comments YES that sounds like an amazing topic.

message 269: by Acacia (new)

Acacia (acaciaa) Yes, that sounds like a good idea.

message 270: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments Can we possibly just have a music topic? There seems to not be one.

message 271: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
We kind of have one that no one uses.
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
You could use this for general music stuff, I think.

i never knew that existed. :p

Me too lol

message 275: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 0 comments I'm wondering if people would like a thread for sharing and getting feedback on story ideas. I'm seeing a few posts popping up in the brainstorming thread where people want to know what others think of an idea they have, and I think there should be a thread for this. Do y'all agree?

I think the Brainstorming topic could be used for that... It is a form of brainstorming.

message 278: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 0 comments @Lav

Perhaps. I dunno…I'd personally use the topic to figure out if a concept is worth spending/wasting time on. Not to flesh anything out.

message 279: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
I feel like it'd probably be better to keep it all to one topic, just for the sake of having fewer topics, you know? If the Brainstorming topic ever gets really cluttered, then maybe another topic would be useful, but so far it doesn't have that much traffic anyways.

message 280: by Brigid ✩, No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. (new)

Brigid ✩ | 11973 comments Mod
Yeah ... I think it would be better to keep it all in one place, at least for now. Asking for help/feedback/advice on an idea is still a type of brainstorming I think, as Alicia said.

message 281: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (warpedline) | 105 comments Hi! I was just wondering, when you win one of the prompt writing comps (I just did), does that mean you make up the next prompt and judge it?

message 282: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments You can if you want to.

Sam~~ we cannot see the moon, and yet the waves still rise~~ | 3061 comments congrats sophie! yeah, unless you'd rather someone else do it instead.

message 284: by Raevyn (new)

Raevyn "Lucia" [I'm in it for the books] (raevynstar) | 121 comments Why not have a 'blurbs' section? :D

message 285: by Elliott (new)

Elliott | 22634 comments Mod
Hey, Human! If you want to ask for help, you could ask in the Writing Tips topic (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) or maybe in the Brainstorming Room (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...)! I'm sure people would be happy to help you with your characters, and anything else you want to talk about.

message 286: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye Is there a place I can put songs I've wrote? I only write words, so I'm not sure if they would go in the Music thread?

message 287: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments There's a thread called "Your Music" or something of the sort, I believe. You can put it there.

message 288: by Ember Skye (new)

Ember Skye Okay, Thanks :)

message 289: by [deleted user] (new)

Can you post my story? I am calling it Secrets.

message 290: by [deleted user] (new)

You know, my story topic.

message 291: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know how to make my topic. Can someone make me a topic entitled Secrets"?

message 292: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments How to post a story:

1.) Go the the genre folder that matches up with you story. Since I don't know your genre, I'll be using the Realistic Fiction folder.

2.) To make a new topic, click the "New Topic" button on the top right.

3.) Fill in all your info.

4. Click post and you're done.

Like actual published books? Goodreads only posts the info, not the actual book. The only thing you can read on here is creative writing posted by others.

message 296: by Liza (new)

Liza | 21 comments Do romance stories go in the realistic fiction folder?

message 297: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments If it's realistic fiction. :P If it has a sci-fi element it'd go in the sci-f place, dystopian romance in dystopian, and so on and so forth.

message 298: by Arikah (last edited Apr 02, 2014 05:27PM) (new)

Arikah Lynne | 3 comments im writing a time travel story about someone from the 1800s who travels 200 years into the future and is stuck there, and the world is messed up(kind of dystopian but not really..) but i don't know what genre to categorize it under, its not exactly sci fi either. i don't want to give to much away to the plot because its still in the works (:

message 299: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments Since it is time travel, I think that would probably work more in sci fi even though it's not straight-up that. You can choose whatever you feel like applies to it most, though.
