I don't THINK this question has been asked. I already had Peter Pan And Wendy and The Fairy Tales on my shelves here at home. Can we read the actual fairytale or a collection of the original fairytales, or do we need to stick to retellings?

message 624: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Lanelle I don't believe it's been asked :D
I don't see why that would be a problem as long as it meets the page minimum.

I have an ancient copy of Grimm tales. I don't like touching it too much. It's barely still in decent shape :(

Lanelle | 20851 comments Mod
Thanks, Jenne. I'll put those books on my possible list.

message 626: by Ebb (new)

Ebb (ebbsbooks) | 96 comments Thanks Jenne for clearing that up. I was at the library yesterday with a Grimm fairy tale collection and put it back when I remembered we were reading retellings. Glad I can go back and get it :)

message 627: by Katherine (last edited Jun 24, 2015 10:25AM) (new)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 760 comments Jenne!!!
I just had an idea for the future Mini challenge/ task.
On the cover has to be some kind of item that you firstly think when you are thinking about these fairy tales.
Example: Cinderella - the item shoe, pumpkin.
Beauty and the beast - rose, maybe a book.
Peter pan - little fairy...
If you do this idea for the Mini, then I think anyone can pick which ever story he/she likes.

message 628: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Lol I've been thinking of one that involves "props" like the apple from Snow White or the pumpkin from Cinderella.

message 629: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 760 comments Jenne wrote: "Lol I've been thinking of one that involves "props" like the apple from Snow White or the pumpkin from Cinderella."

But I actually think that this task would be easier on Mini. Because there are stories like Cinderella, Snow white, Beauty and the beast, that could be easy to find the items, but for other stories is harder.

message 630: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (pokey36) | 1239 comments If the page count comes in exactly on 200 do we use 20 or 25 points?

message 631: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 760 comments ✪Page Points:
150-200 = 20 points
201-300 = 25 points
301-400 = 30 points
401-500 = 35 points
501+ = 40 points

You get 20 points.

message 632: by Cait S (new)

Cait S Another question about Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione since I know Jenne and Ezi, you've both read it.

Would you say it's 50% from Wraith's POV? Enough to count for the mini challenge this week?

message 633: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments If I remember right it is. Ezi, anyone remember otherwise?

Thanks Katherine, I have the wrong scale on my spreadsheet! :)

If a book has been shelved 13 times as fairy-tales....is that acceptable to get points?

Book I am referencing is Sunshine by Robin McKinley
and also is this cover acceptable for pink?

message 641: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 760 comments I got another idea. (Damn I am on the roll :D)
Maybe something about secondary characters, which helped main character at some point.

Example:
Cinderella - Fairy Godmother - so maybe the book has to have fairies.
Red Riding Hood - Huntsmen - there has to be a person, who works with hands.

Okay this is my (third) idea. :D
