Rosina | 136 comments not sure if this has been asked if the author is E L James

does it work for EL? Or are we looking at only first and last names?

Soooo, homie, pal, what you say about Holding Out for a Fairy Tale (Least Likely Partnership, #2) by A.J. Thomas --- can I get team name bonus for Fairy tale?
Also, moon on the cover?

Looks like the moon peeking out behind one of the buildings.
Sorry hon I've gotta say no to fairy tale since its not technically a team name.

I figured but I had to try. Thanks.

message 562: by Sam (new)

Sam (theliteraryhooker) For the shelf for the game, do we only put the books that count towards the tasks on it, or any book we're claiming points for (even if only for pages)?

message 563: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Any books you've read.

message 564: by Sherri (new)

Sherri | 72 comments Question on Anthologies:

Can a story within the anthology count for a team name or an author initial, etc? I understand the entire anthology must be read to count but I don't see an answer for how the books stories can be applied.

For example: with Night Shift (Kate Daniels, #6.5; SPI Files, # 0.5; Psy-Changeling, #12.5) by Nalini Singh there is a story called "The Beast of Blackmoor" by Milla Vane. Can Beast be used as a Team Name?

Also for Dark and Stormy Knights by P.N. Elrod could PN Elrod (the editor) be used for an author name.

message 565: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20851 comments Mod
Jenne, would you consider adding Grimm to the list for Team Name bonuses? I know it's not a team name, but it is the name of the challenge.

message 566: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments On anthologies I did say you could use any author for AI so yes titles in anthologies would work for TNB.

Lanelle I was just thinking about that last night when Ezi asked about fairy tale. I think adding Grimm would be ok since it's the name of the game which goes hand in hand with team names.

I support adding Grimm

message 569: by Nancy (last edited Jun 19, 2015 09:12AM) (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 386 comments Another clarification, Jenne (sorry!)

I know you've said a book needs to be shelved 5 times as Fairy Tale Retelling to count, but Lord Beast has FTR as a main page genre, although it has only been listed twice. Looking at the blurb and a lot of the other shelves (and Lanelle, you've just read it so you'd be better qualified to confirm) it seems to be a variation on Beauty and the Beast. Could we count it as a FTR?

message 570: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments You're good Nancy, it's on the beauty and the beast listopia too. If you come across one you know is a fairy tale you're ok to use it.

message 571: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments There has some been some discussion on some of the team's threads in regards to synonyms for team name bonus. The mods have decided to not use them (scarlet for red, etc) since they're not technically the team name. We have okayed using Grimm as a TNB so if you've already read one that had Grimm please edit your post and let your captain know too so the spreadsheets are right.
Thanks!

message 572: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20851 comments Mod
At first I thought that Lord Beast was not a FTR. But after talking it over with my 19-year-old daughter and discussing plot points, we decided that it is a FTR because of the Lord's arrogance and demeanor. He was disfigured by a girl (taking the place of the witch) seeking revenge. He was "cursed" because of his actions. Followed by several years of solitude and self-pity. Then enters the heroine. She loves him. And they lived happily ever after.

Yep, it's a FTR. Thanks, NancyHelen, for making me take a second look at the story.

Ebb (ebbsbooks) | 96 comments Hey Jenne, is the yellow in the Queen's eye enough for task points? Fairest of All A Tale of the Wicked Queen by Serena Valentino

Also, there's an alternate cover edition for Stephen King's new book Finders Keepers. Would you consider it to have yellow on the side? Finders Keepers by Stephen King If so, can i use the alternate cover thats not physically in front of me? I know you mentioned this before but i wasnt sure if it applied physical books or just ebooks.

message 574: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Ebony the SK book is good. The other one it's real hard to tell on my phone. I'll look on the laptop tonight and get back to you :)

message 575: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) I just wanted to check that the title for this book is blue enough as it has a slight green tinge to it. Up and In by Deborah Disney .

message 576: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments The team name bonuses will stay the same except we added Grimm to it. I apologize for contradicting myself with wee, small etc. I shouldn't of put those on the ok list but sense they are already they're going to stay there.

message 588: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) I just wanted to check the cover of this book. All around the outside of the cover are symbols and some of those symbols are of moons. Would this count for the mini-challenge? Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker
