Had to add it. I've enjoyed short stories more this last year, well, except for the one I'm listening to now."
Good title isn't it?? I really liked it, it's a little bizarre and very West Coast.

I just read The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. It was made into a fil..."
Thanks Melissa :)
Finished Sense and Sensibility which we should count for Oscar, since it is worth the extra 5 points for being published before 1929!
Finished A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail for another humor book.
I Finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time this morning for The Alex Award category. I have a really hard time rating this book. It was interesting and kept my attention, but it made me feel a lot of negative emotions... But I also consider a book that can bring forth true emotion while reading a good book, even if those aren't good emotions. Ultimately I give it 3.5 stars because it was interesting, but I can't say I loved it.

I have a hard time rating some books too. If a book is well written but I didn't like the MC or things that happened in it, I don't know how much that should impact the rating.
You are getting sleepy, sleepy, sleepy.
You will stop reading, stop watching movies. You will drink so much you will pass out on the sofa. Sleepy, sleepy.
Nice try, Almeta!Despite your futile effort, I finished Answering 911: Life in the Hot Seat for humour genre. I didn't find it especially humorous, but since it was one of the book's main page genres, I will use it for that.
Unfortunately, this was my last book that I will be able to read for this Toppler. We are headed to my in-laws' summer cottage tomorrow, and I know that I will not have any opportunity to read on Friday and Saturday. Managed to finish a total of five books, so better than nothing, but would have liked to topple one more.

Sounds as though I didn't hypnotize you soon enough.
I think Almeta's hypnotizing worked on me since I napped for a few hours yesterday :( then again, travels with Casey, is not getting much better but I have less than 100 pages to go now :)

Yeah,
It is like Grumpy Cat, isn't it?
Almeta's up to her old tricks, I see. Love the cat!I finished Mr. Mercedes for the Mystery Edgar Award.
Finished We'll Always Have Parrots, which won the "Lefty" award from Left Coast Crime in 2005. Great book. Very funny.
Finished Brideshead Revisited which we can count for Oscar or the Penguin Classics category. That's unfortunately it for me, since I am solo parenting a 7 year old this weekend and am taking her to camp. There's a little chance I can sneak in a viewing of Beautiful Mind tonight. If so I will let you all know!
I'm going to go ahead and report The Adventures of Tom Sawyer as finished (classics category). I managed to read some on my lunch break and I think I have about 10 minutes left to be done. I'll finish up on my drive home shortly and I may not have time to log on to GR the rest of the weekend. I can't believe I managed to finish four books this week! Woohoo!
Oops, I just realized I didn't post that I finished Gathering Blue for the Newberry Medal Winner in this thread. I posted from the app the afternoon I finished and apparently did it in the wrong thread. Sorry about that!
I finished the audio book of Anansi Boys, which won the Mythopeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature, the ALA Alex award and the British Fantasy Award.
