Another Wattpad story for me! This one's called Boot Camp by ginawriter. Now, you may be thinking this is a military story but...You're not quite right there. This is a strict fitness boot camp with personal trainers and weekly group challenges. Whitney isn't exactly fit nor is she exactly "fat". She just despises exercise, in any form. Her sister pops up after a while of having been quiet these past few years and announces a wedding. Where she wants Whitney to be a part of the bridal party. She uses this as part of her excuse to push herself towards a fitness camp, only for the two months of her summer. It doesn't seem like her summer will be all butterflies and sunshine until she meets her personal trainer, Alex Chandler.

Romance and drama! Typical teenage book. Take a look, link is at the top! I enjoyed watching the blossom of the each character throughout and just the overall journey of the book.

Kimberlee Chowning | 9 comments The Day I Died by NeonLights1404

One more for now. The Day I Died by NeonLights1404. I have to admit...Top 10 Favorite List achieved with this one. While attempting one of the last of her 20 items on her bucket list, Aries died. Aries April Skyler was attempting to finish number 81: Go skydiving 15 times. Well, the parachute cord wouldn't pull and she kinda face planted the ground at 200 kilometers an hour. Essentially killing herself. She was giving a second chance at life. She had a dead line of one year, to finish her bucket list, the hardest part being number 100: to fall in love.
Would she complete these tasks in order to continue on with her life either in her new body or in her original family? Go find out!

DaShannon | 12 comments Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
A mature YA thriller is a next read for fans of Gone Girl. Dangerous Girls keeps the reader guessing during the trial of a best friend accused of murdering her bestie. There are mutual friends, a complicated boyfriend, and a wild spring break all rolled up in a murder. I enjoyed it however I would recommend it only for mature readers looking for a thriller based around young adults. If you've read or watched Gone Girl this is tame compared to those but for a YA book it is mature.

DaShannon | 12 comments Style by Kate Spade
A beautifully crafted book. It suggests wardrobe staples, movies that hold style, and classic outfits. A good quick perusal of fashion and style.

Kimberlee Chowning | 9 comments Eve & Adam
I've started on Eve & Adam, which doesn't happen to be the typical story you may think it is. Evening, or Eve or even E.V., had gotten in a car accident. Severed her leg and crushed her right arm which lead her mother taking her to her own medical facility. Sometime on her recovery path, she gets bored and starts complaining. Her mother though, gives her a perfect project: build your idea of a perfect boy.
I'm only about 70 pages in though so..I'll keep reading since this is fairly interesting.

DaShannon | 12 comments This series is for those who liked the Twilight series. In my opinion it is even better writing and characterization. Instead of vampires there are merpeople called Syrena and they feud and they fall in love with humans. A good plot lines takes the series from one book into the next and it makes for enjoyable reading. Of Triton (The Syrena Legacy, #2) by Anna Banks

Kimberlee Chowning | 9 comments The Heir

I didn't even know the book had come out! But I had gone to the library last week and checked out this book followed by another which I'll update on once I finish this one. I did finish Adam and Eve, which happened to be very interesting. But my point right now is The Heir by Kiera Cass. The fourth book in The Selection series. If you haven't read book one: The Selection, then you should start there before reading this book. I'm not gonna give away anything but if you're into princes and princesses and suitors then you should take a look at this book! I'm on my toes in anticipation while reading this so far.

DaShannon | 12 comments The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins This classic mystery/suspense/thriller was an interesting read. It took more patience than today's thriller because it was written for a reader who wanted it to take longer to get to the bottom of the story. I enjoyed it!

DaShannon | 12 comments Death by Bikini (Death By Mysteries, #1) by Linda Gerber Perfect summer read on the beach or by the pool, this YA murder mystery is actually a series that I will continue reading. I like the main character who is strong and smart and curious. The constant action and questions kept me reaching for it every chance I got.

DaShannon | 12 comments Bossypants by Tina Fey
What a fun, entertaining memoir by one of today's funniest ladies. I love her honesty and humor. Good stuff. I hear the audio is especially good. This is for mature readers who enjoy Tina Fey's humor.

DaShannon | 12 comments Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer
This YA novel takes Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar as an inspiration to some troubled teens to write and read and discuss to get through their most difficult times. Some of the characters are forthcoming with how they ended up at the special school but some, including the main character, hold back, building suspense that I found anticlimactic. The premise of the novel is original and I wanted to sit down to fall back into Belzhar. I'll be interested to know what other Blan readers think of this one.

Sarah Wallace | 6 comments The fourth book I read was Rogue, the second book to the ordinary series by Jess Petosa. The main character Ally has escaped the city walls heading to the Southern City. However the wilderness is very dangerous which causes issues along the way. To cause even more problems back at the city where Ally escaped is the boy she loved, Luke. Throughout the book Ally is having battles within herself, should she continue her journey or go back and try to help the city? Overall I liked this way more than the first book as it flowed better. You also got to see sides of the characters that the first book didn't show. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Sydney Wallace | 5 comments The fourth book I read was Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. This book takes a whole new view on the world after you die. It creates a atmosphere that is unique and keeps you interested at all times. The plot of the story is centered around a teenage girl names Liz Hall. Liz has always fantasized about growing up, about graduating high school and going to collage. However at age fifteen Liz dies and is sent to Elsewhere. Liz's dreams of growing up are crushed when she learns that in elsewhere instead of gaining years, she will be losing them. I honestly loved this book! the plot is amazing and the characters really draw you in.

Kimberlee Chowning | 9 comments The Bane Chronicles
8th book I think? Might have read some more in between my reviews. I've started on The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, and Maureen Johnson. This is a series of stories from Magnus Bane, a warlock from the Mortal Instrument and Infernal Devices series. Each little story was hinted at before in the main series and has just now been further broadened by in The Bane Chronicles.
Magnus' humor is my favorite part of the stories so far because he has an older vocabulary yet he also manages to find the humor in just about every situation.
Don't read this book until you've read The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices otherwise you'll be at a total loss, making the book less enjoyable.

DaShannon | 12 comments The Pink Suit by N.M. Kelby An interesting read for the fashion crowd. An inspired historical fiction tale about the seamstress who copied the famous first lady's pink suit for her so it could be American made. The story is really about the seamstress, her betrothed butcher and the fashion making world at the time.

Cheyenne Brown | 6 comments Even though I met my goal I'm still reading The Maze Runner series. My fourth book was The Death Cure by James Dashner. Overall this book has many twist and turns and I was satisfied with the ending. The book told more adventures of Thomas who has survived the maze and the scorch, but he now is left with the biggest decisions he's faced yet. I don't want to give away too much, so if you want to know I guess you'll have to read it.

Audrey Heitzman | 5 comments 11/22/63 by Stephen King 11/22/63 by Stephen King: Kudos to Stephen King for writing this absolutely stunning book. When an English teacher becomes time traveler at the request of his dying, cancer ridden, and diner owning friend, many questions fly at him. What would happen if you kill your grandfather? Would the past snap back into place when you come back into the present, or will it rewrite everything? Al Templeton, who is currently coughing blood into a wads of maxi pads, tells Jake Epping about how no matter how long you stay in the time machine (or pantry in this story) it is always 2 minutes long. You will arrive at the past at Sept. 9, 1958. It’s 11:58 a.m. If you stay there for 4 years or even 15 years, you will come back to 2011 being gone for only 2 minutes. Yet, you still age. At the final request of Al, Jake travels back in time to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy, which in theory would prevent the assassination of Robert Kennedy. An amazing book, and I wish I would have found it sooner.

Sarah Wallace | 6 comments The fifth book I read was Ordinary, the third book in the series Execptional by Jess Petosa. In the last book they set out to the Southern City to try to find help and communication among the major cities. However the way to the unknown city is dangerous and life threatening. Overall I liked the last book as it ties the whole story together. It also had a good plot that kept you entertained the whole time. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Lyndsey Valentine | 6 comments I'll be reviewing my 4th and 5th book in the same comment.
Since we were only required to read at least 3 books, I figured I would take a step back and revisit some short, R.L. Stine, Goosebumps books. Both of these books made me feel very nostalgic while reading them. The first one I read was The Revenge Of The Lawn Gnomes. It follows a young boy's troubles with two lawn gnomes his father bought for lawn ornaments. Little did the father know, these gnomes come to life at night and cause all kinds of mischief around their household. This young boy must figure out a way to get rid of them without them getting rid of him first. Meanwhile, Stine perfectly captures the boy cried wolf aspect. I thought it was quite a silly book, but it was such a fun read. It was nice to have a break from reading much longer books.
The second Goosebumps book I read was Deep Trouble. While Goosebumps books are admittedly not ideal books for sophomores in high school, it definitely kept me on my toes. It incorporates all of my favorite things (that would be mermaids, basically). Stine always crosses the line between fantasy and reality in his books and I love it. They always spark an interest for me due to this aspect of his books. He uses great imagery in this book, and while I can usually predict his endings, this one was quite different. I'll definitely be reading some of his longer books in the not so distant future.

The Fourth book I read this summer was Grey, a amazing book. E.L. James is on top and she knows it. If you know what her perouis novels are about and like them then you'll enjoy this. Personally I believe this is the best one so far and is counting down the minutes before the next one comes out.
