Mama, Papa, Nick, and Stanley headed west in trailer; little girl named Tina who was being taken to an orphanage falls asleep in it; the boys are afraid they'll get in trouble for kidnapping her so they cut her hair, dress her in overalls, and paint the trailer. Can't remember either title or author.

Chapter book. Gosh, ages ago. 60s? 70s? It seemed to be set in maybe the 50s-60s. Don't think it was a series, and I don't remember what the cover was like.
