rated it 3 stars

I've kept going with it only because I bought the series based on my enjoyment of the first book. It has gone WAAAYYYYY downhill since that one, with the 4th being the worst yet. With Romance Lovers doing it for a monthly BR, I figured I would get the motivation to keep going with the series.

LOL, I couldn't continue after reading book 2. It's just not that good compared to others of a similar vein

I haven't found anything good in the similar vein! Granted, I don't exactly know where to look, but I didn't enjoy KGI, or the Titan series, and now this. Do you have any suggestions?

I loved The Ghostwalkers. Have you tried that one?

I've never heard of it! I'll have to look it up!

I also want to try Cindy Gerard as she is popular with my friends ~Melissa~ and Pat (PepperPot).

I checked out Cindy Gerard...looks like you've read one of hers!

If it's thriller romantic suspense books though, I highly recommend Kendra Elliot! I just read and finished

I can't do nightmares, I scare easily. I won't be seeing the Poltergist or any of those scary movies.
YEs, I loved Killing Time. But I also loved I-Team which you weren't as gangsta about. I also enjoyed most of the KGI books, not all.

I-Team was still overall good, I think the lowest I ever went on those was 3 stars, on Gabe and Kat's book. I still shudder at that one, even with how a large portion of the folks on the FB group are all "Team Gabe!" I liked Nate from Skin Deep much better! Plus, his dad's getting his own novella too before Seduction Game (Annoying Holly's story) comes out!

Oh, that is so awesome! Congratulations! I'm probably going to pick it up.

(view spoiler)
Long story short, I am not sure that I want to continue with the series. I'd love to hear you ladies' thoughts on it!

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts, Stacey! I expanded some of those thoughts further in my review, if you want to check it out. I'm looking forward to hearing your updated thoughts though!

Yes, well, when I went to actually sit down and write a clear review- that's how it all came out! I couldn't come up with a logical way of how the story progressed because there were so many different things going on simultaneously that just didn't meld for me. And I didn't even touch on the religious aspect (except for the crying angel that I still don't really get). The only characters I liked were Ruby and Ray- which is why I gave it a two star rather than one.

I agree, some of the secondary characters really pulled it out of the 1 star rating for me, and the story didn't mesh well for me either.
Thing is, this is listed as a Christian read...and it's really not. I read both Christian romance and regular romance, and the big thing that separates them is that Christian/inspirational romances have no sex in them!! Hooking up at the local no-tell motel would make it a regular romance, with a lot of "God this..." and "God that..." thrown in, which felt very fake to me.
I'm going to wait to hear what Ezi has to say about the book before making final decision on if I continue it or not. I'm still on the fence about it, even now.

You are braver than I to continue- Hoo Boy! (Being snarky here!!).
I didn't realize it was a Christian romance before I started it but right- the opening scene pretty much took it off the Christian romance shelf!
I wonder what Ezi is going to say- I hope she's not reading my posts! You never know though. People have loved it. And that's why I love Goodreads- so interesting to see all the different tastes and perspectives people have on the books I read. I have a shelf of 'books that everybody loved but I didn't' ;-)

So do I, Stacey! One that I can remember off the top of my head is Ilona Andrews. Everyone raves and recommends her books to me, and yet I just can't get into them, and that's with trying two different series of hers!

*laughs* That amuses me, and indeed proves the point you were making about everyone having different tastes and perspectives!
Trea wrote: "Ezi, did you get a chance to read this this month? If so, will you continue on with the series?"
HONESTLY, your review scared me a bit. I am scared to read fake christian fic.

*cringes* Sorry about that! I'm nothing if not brutally honest when it comes to a review of a book. This one rubbed me the wrong way for a lot of reasons, and yet I'm still considering continuing with it since I picked up the 4 book bundle. Then again, spending a good bit of money on a series hasn't stopped me from abandoning it and deleting it from my Kindle library if I don't care for it!

Yeah, there was a 4-books-in-1 bundle sale going on a few weeks ago. I think it was marked down to $2.99, so I took a chance on it. I'm not out much if I delete it, so we'll see if I can fit it into one of the longer challenges I've got set up for July.
