Ezi, I started book two late last night. Not very far in it, but I already think the Hero is a complete jerk!

I'm at about the halfway point now, so I figured I'd share some of my thoughts.

(view spoiler)[1. Tulane is an ass! So far, there has been nothing to redeem him, and I'm not expecting much more from him.

2. Sarah needs to grow a spine!

3. There is an awful lot of backstabbing and deception going on. Yes, it might be true to life, but Sara is so clueless, I can foresee her ending up in tears over this stuff with her boss.

4. We get little snippets about Jane and Clay, and the rest of the folks in town, but it all seems to overshadow the main characters.

5. I'm bored. I have to fight myself to stay interested in this book. Needless to say, I'm not continuing after this. (hide spoiler)]

Well, I finished the second book. Stacey, my recommendation is to leave the series abandoned! This book was boring and I did not enjoy it at all!

Yeah, unfortunately the book didn't improve from my list of complaints I posted last night and it left us hanging on what ultimately ended up happening with Sarah's job. It got so boring at one point, I started reading Luther, and you know how I've felt about the recent Scanguards books! I forced myself to finish Home, though, but I don't really want to force the rest of them. Too much like torture, and my TBR is a bit too massive to spend time on a series I haven't really enjoyed to this point.

I actually like this story. It's cute. Clay is a stereotypical cowboy, music playing, easy to fall in law, picking up user women :D

His brother Stone would make a better hero as he is much more complex. Not as sensitive and more suspicious.

Clay drove. I liked it. I don't think I love it enough to continue past book 2 but we will see
