Team A. - Team Chat
I'm good with whatever. And if you can completely explain to me what minions are, all I know is I bought mac & cheese minions, cookie minions, and I'm still not quite sure what they are.
We should start planning soon heheI know I have a buddy read with berit for miss mayhem and nikinnia for boundless so we can work out what descriptions to tick off for those :)
I asked my kids the same question, haven't watched that movie. So, they are going to have their own movie? Definitely we should start planning, how many categories total are there? Does it benefit us in all categories if 4 people read from that category?
Boundless can be used for read a book starting with a teammate's initial- "B" for Berit or I think it can count for fantasy.Miss Mayhem- Read a book with flowers on the cover( it has flower petals on the cover) or read a book with a friend.
Either can be used for read 800+ pages.
Here's a list from June Buddy read thread: 1. My Heart and Other Black Holes- B, A, T
2. Alienated- flowers on cover, starts with "A"
3. Hobbit- Fantasy, set in past
4. An Abundance of Katherines- starts with "A"
5. Fallen- trees or romance
6. This Lullaby- "Sarah" or romance
7. Twenty Boy Summer- "Sarah"
8. Anna and the French Kiss- teammates initial "A" or starts with "A" or romance
9. The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden- rain/water on cover, romance, or teammates initial "C"
10. World After- something that flies(bat on cover)
I'll be doing alienated so I can do that for A and miss mayhem for flowersShall we set up a first come first serve sign up for the descriptions? Bonus points for part completion
Hmm I guess time zones may affect that idea. Ideally we should be able to read whatever we want and fit it in a description rather than pick a book based on the description if you get what I mean :p
I'm almost done with my book, after that I will go over the list, I'm good with whatever, but what takes priority, that is what I need to figure out. Basically where do we get the bonus points.
Oh I thought we had to complete all the description in a part to get bonus points! I'm confused now haha
We can get Sarah to clear it up for us. I can definitely do 1, 6, and 8. I'm gonna go through my scribd app and see what other books are there that fit the description.
Christina you are correct, we get bonus points for completing each part of which there are 4 I think if I counted correctly there are 39 total descriptions including the letters at the end. Some of those we are actually going to have to find a specific book like a book published in 1995 for example. Just an idea maybe we can go through the first week and see what is covered, and then assign books or pick what books we are willing to read, to fit what needs to be fit, does that make sense?
Basically you can't read a book that fits the same category more than once, so we need to avoid that.
Will you girls be setting up shelves with your june tbr? Just to get a rough idea of what you will be reading and perhaps easier to coordinate when the time comes
Basically the idea is that you can complete all the descriptions up to 4 times (as if there were 4 people playing the game). If you complete all the descriptions for one of the sections once (parts 1 or 2 or 3 or 4) then you will get a bonus for that. If the descriptions are completed 4 times, then you will get 4 bonuses. If say 5 of the descriptions are completed and the others aren't, then there will be no bonus, even if each of the 5 descriptions are completed by 4 people each.
Thus, the idea is to complete all of the descriptions in a section, at which point you will receive a bonus. And if you are able to, you would then start completing the descriptions again for a second bonus.
Does that make sense?

Yes. That makes more sense now!How many bonus points is it ? ;)
Edit: Oh, don't worry. Just saw in the signup thread!
Are we just reading books and then seeing where they fit? Also, if any books I read fit a description as having something on the cover, could someone tell me as I can't see?
Jackie I'm going to look through your list tomorrow and see what you have there. Also I will look on scribd to see what books fit the descriptions. Maybe we can buddy read a few books from there for the extra points.
I've created a junanji shelf with books I've committed to read. @Jackie
Sure. That's what team mates are for ;)
Great idea Christina. I will make one as well. I think we should try to do quite a few buddy reads since 4 members can complete a task. That should help us alot
Do you guys want to work on completing the 1st part 1st, then 2nd, 3rd, and 4th? then restartAnother idea is to break into teams and half does part 1 while the other half does part 2, then the teams switch. After that we would do the same with parts 3 and 4.
