Amy | 2535 comments That's great Mona so we'll possibly end up with that description complete for game one and two then. :)

message 302: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments That's great Mona. I don't mind doing my game book Amy.

message 303: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Okay, so I'll do the boarding school then. I want to read HP 2 but then there is a buddy read for Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider and have checked it out, GR says it sets in boarding school. I think I'm gonna read it now, instead of HP 2.

message 304: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Cool.

message 305: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I finished a book called Arizona for the description: read a book with something that flies.

message 306: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Sharon, you're definitely our team reading ninja! :D

message 307: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Haha...thanks! Almost done A Court of Thorns and Roses. It is really good! Should be done by tomorrow. Also, I will have The Scorch Trials and The Book Thief done before the 30th.

Way to go, Sharon! :D I love A Court of Thorns and Roses! I cannot wait for book 2.

message 309: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Well done Sharon! Is A Court of Thorns and Roses good? I haven't read it yet and am thinking of buying it...

message 310: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Thanks, Rachmi! I enjoy these challenges. I get to interact with people more than I usually do which is great. Ya...i guess you can call me a reading ninja because if you look a the mid-year cleanup challenge I have like 13,000 pages read which is actually shocking to me since I read short stories more than novels lol. I love A Court of Thorns and Roses! I can't wait either! Wish I had the book in hardcover or paperback instead of ebook maybe later on I'll buy it.

message 311: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments @Amy, it's good, really good. Go buy it and read it ASAP, lol

@Sharon, I love team challenges too. I, like you, rarely interact with people. That's why I keep joining reading challenge in this group because I get to interact with other members. And really have fun doing it. Too bad I won't be able to join next challenge.

I have paperback edition, the cover is soooooo pretty. I still want to have its hardcover, though :D

message 312: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I know, but with my tuition I need to save up my money. So I'm waiting for my birthday to get it!

message 313: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments The hardcover is pretty cheap on Book Depository at the moment, i think it's 25% off the RRP. I'll buy it! I trust your opinion guys haha.

Aw, why won't you be taking part next month? :)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Sharon wrote: "I know, but with my tuition I need to save up my money. So I'm waiting for my birthday to get it!"

When will your birthday, Sharon? I'm saving my money for An Ember in the Ashes hardcover now. I don't know know when I can buy it, though. It seems I have too many books I want to buy now, lol.

message 315: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments My birthday is on August 28. I'll be 22 then.

message 316: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I want to buy a lot of books too. I usually try to get them but only if they are cheap. I live in Canada, so everything is expensive.

Really? I haven't checked Book Depository out for this past two days. I want to buy a book for my 3-years-old nephew, maybe I can buy ACOTAR too for myself :D

There will be two weeks holiday here in the middle of July. And with that long holiday, usually I won't have much time for reading because I'll mostly spend my time with my family and in another town. I'll keep reading but won't be any good to contribute for the team, I think. So it's better if I don't join in.

Rachmi | 4882 comments Sharon wrote: "My birthday is on August 28. I'll be 22 then."

My best friend's birthday is August 28th too! Now I'm sure I'll always remember your birthday date :D

message 319: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I share my birthday with 2 of my friends and my grandfather, who passed little bit after I was born.

Books are expensive here in Indonesia too, even the translated ones. It used to be cheaper than English version, but now not that much differences. So I prefer to buy English version instead.

Two months ago I bought The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien which made me broke! Not only it was so expensive for me, but because when I bought it Indonesian currency was in its worst into USD. It was like I paid two times from the price.

Amy | 2535 comments Well it's the perfect oportunity to buy something for yourself then! I think they have a lot of books for a good price at the moment like i saw Losing It (Losing It, #1) by Cora Carmack for £3.50 and it's usually £6.99 on there so I might get that too, I've heard good things about it. I saw these deals last night though... hopefully they haven't changed the price already! I check Book Depository very regularly too Rachmi haha.

Ah okay, that makes sense. Hope you have a good time off with your family :)

message 322: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments I think it's already back into normal price, Amy. I just check it out its price is USD 22.19 now. Pretty expensive for me. I guess I'll just wait till it gets on sale. I bought Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas paperback, UK edition last January for only USD 6 while its normal price is USD 11.46.

message 323: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Guys, I know I said that I'll read Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider for boarding school description, but after a few pages I don't think I want to read it now. So I'm going to switch it to car description in part 2, and read Wild Reckless by Ginger Scott instead.

I'll go back to Extraordinary Means, somehow, maybe right after I finish Wild Reckless. But if you guys want to read another boarding school description, please do it. No need to wait for me, that way we can finish part 1 game 2.

And it makes part 2 game 2 only have 2 more description (house and 800 pages) as Sharon is reading game description now.

That said I'm sure we can finish game 1 and part 1 & 2 of game 2 by the end of June!

message 324: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Yeah, you're right Rachmi it's gone up again. I wasn't quick enough, will have to keep looking for a good deal as I don't usually buy books full price. That's an amazing price for Throne of Glass, good steal!

message 325: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments I know! I'm glad I made it in time to buy it because a few hours later, when I told my friend about it and she wanted to buy it, it changed into normal price again.

I used to buy books with its normal price, especially when they are from my favorite authors or the covers are so pretty I cannot resist not to buy it. But now it seems there are loads of books that fall into pretty covers category, so I have to make priority here, lol.

message 326: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Finished A Court of Thorns and Roses and now starting Fair Game.

message 327: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Hi guys, we finished game 1! Yay!!

message 328: by Amy (last edited Jun 30, 2015 10:06AM) (new)

Amy | 2535 comments Game one is done! Well done Sharon for completing that last book. :)

I thought i'd post what we have left on game two...

- Read a book set in a boarding school -->
- Read a book with a house on the cover (or in the title)-->
- Roll a five or an eight – read 800 pages of your choice (can be made up from more than 1 book.) -->
- I’ve been in Jumanji! Read a book with the word 'game' or 'play' in the title. -->
- That’s my car! Read a book with a car on the cover.-->
- Watch out for the hunter! Read a book with the words ‘hunter/hunted/hunt’ in the title.-->
- It’s a stampede! Run! Read a book whose title starts with the letter R. -->
- The floor is quicker than the sand. Read a book with a beach on the cover, or set at the beach.-->
U,
M,
A,
N,
J,
I,

Not as many left as I thought actually, we're doing good! I think we can definitely get one or two more parts done. I'm currently working on I in JUMANJI.

message 329: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I'm finishing U and M and my other J. I started U and M, so have to finish those and the buddy reads for them as well. Also, I have a book with a fruit.

message 330: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2535 comments That's great Sharon! Unfortunately I'm not as fast at reading... I'll probably only get one more book read this month but I did just finish a book and it was nearly 600 pages, not bad. :)

message 331: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Finished reading for car description and now I'm going to read for boarding school description. But it won't be Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider as I planned, instead I'm thinking to read Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy Series #6) by Richelle Mead by Richelle Mead which I put on hold since last October. I'm gonna read it from the first page, though because I completely forgot the story.

message 332: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Sharon wrote: "I'm finishing U and M and my other J. I started U and M, so have to finish those and the buddy reads for them as well. Also, I have a book with a fruit."

So it leaves A in JUMANJI, right? I'll try to read it and hopefully I can finish it before the dateline :D I'm also still reading Last Sacrifice for boarding school now.

message 333: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Yes! You can do it, Rachmi!!

message 334: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I have a book for I. I have a book that fits almost every description. I hope that they will help if I finish them!

message 335: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Sharon wrote: "I have a book for I. I have a book that fits almost every description. I hope that they will help if I finish them!"

It will definitely help, Sharon. Well...you've read the most books for our team, so you've helped more than anyone of us :D

But didn't Amy have already done with I in JUMANJI with her Interview With The Vampire? Maybe your book can be fitted for another description?

message 336: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I'm thinking about that. If not, then the I for third game.

message 337: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments I don't think that I can do another book with a beach, so I'm going to put It's Not Summer Without You (Summer, #2) by Jenny Han under I in JUMANJI for game 3.

message 338: by Rachmi (new)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Finished two books! One for boarding school in game 3, the other one is for A in JUMANJI.

Although there is a couple hours more until the dateline, I cannot read anymore since I'm at the office now.

I really had fun doing this challenge and happy to be part of this good and meet you all :)

message 339: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Mariampillai | 11004 comments Great job Rachmi! I enjoyed doing this challenge with all of you as well. :)
