SOLVED. Children's fantasy chapter book about a boy and a girl who make wishes at a sea [s]

First off: I'm almost certain it is not Magic by the Lake by Edward Eager or any others in that series.

The book was about 2 kids, a boy and a girl, who, with their parents, were staying at a house at a sea. The kids found a bottle that said they could make wishes.

I remember that they tried flying, so they jumped off the bed, but it didn't work. Then the girl wished to be a mermaid and her legs turned into a mermaid tail. They had to hide it from their parents, so I think they wrapped the tail in a towel. They eventually found out that the wishes had to do with the sea or else it wouldn't work. I think the girl ended up going underwater and there was something about a king underwater, and the boy was trying to find the girl.

The cover was illustrated and I'm pretty sure it showed the boy and the girl with the bottle.

There were more in the series, and another one had to do with fire, if that's any help.

I really loved this book when I was younger, and I'd love to read it again, so any help would be appreciated. :)
