Time to nominate your additional monthly reads for April.

These nominations are open to any book; you can keep with the Goodreads Choice Awards theme and nominate a runner up, or just nominate your favourite book, or a book that's been on your TBR pile for ages.

- When nominating please make sure you include the book link or book cover link. This can be done by clicking on the ' add book / author' link above the comment box.
- Only one nomination per person will be accepted (if more than one is nominated, the first book posted will be accepted).
- Nominations will close on Sunday 24th February, 5pm GMT and will be followed by a poll.

message 5: by Donna (new)

Donna | 94 comments I'd like to nominate The Shoemaker's Wife. It's a wonderfully romantic and sensory rich story that starts in the hills of Italy, continues in the turn of the century immigrant experience of New York, following a family's touching and inspiring story. A book to get lost in!

Thanks for the suggestion Donna, sounds interesting.
Next time don't forget to include your nomination with the book link or book cover links :)
Like this The Shoemaker's Wife or The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani

I assume this is the one you meant?

Thanks Narmeen.

All these nominations are books that I've not read, I'm not sure if this is a good thing (lot's of lovely recommendations) or a bad thing! (more books that could be added to my TBR pile!)

Are there other "calendars" so I can bookmark them and check in every so often. I need to reserve books in advance of the discussion (of course), but sometimes it's a wait to borrow a title from the library; in addition, I'm a slow reader ... ;o)

message 25: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments They are the only 2 claendars for this group that I am aware of Liz :-)

Jurica, for your nomination to count you have to use the add book/author tool. It will add your book automatically to this post and it ensures other members can check which book you are referring to by simply clicking on the link.

Why Le Sigh? The Harry Potter books are amazing!

message 35: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 25 comments Because while I really do want to read them and see what the fuss is about, I feel obligated to automatically love them on sight and unread lest I get deluged with the onslaught of the million different ways that these books are amazing.

BUT, I want to read them before my resentment of all the pressure pushes me into an arbitrary resistance...

message 36: by Lynn, Moderator (new)

Lynn | 4467 comments Mod
Ah yes, understandable. Of course there are many people out there who don't rate them at all, which of course you may be one of them :)

I'd like to nominate Cinder. It was nominated for a goodreads choice award and it's the first in a series (the second book just came out), so there would be no need to do additional reading in order to catch up to the series.
