SOLVED. girl sent to boarding school for behavioral issues [s]

a girl is send to some type of boarding school because she was bad back at home. It's far out i remember and when she arrived her and a few others handed over contrabanded items, i recall a lighter and a pocket knife i think it was pink. while she was there her boyfriend send her an email saying he's breaking up. There are a series of flashback in the book also.
