Requests for beta readers.
Authors post book details,
Readers post interest in reading and genre preferences.

There will be errors in these books even though the authors have tried their hardest to eliminate them. Please note where the typo/error occurs "missing comma at "Joe fell through"" and let the author know with a direct "send message" to the author.

message 5: by April (new)

April (grapeapril75) I would love to be a beta reader! I read like crazy!! I am a speed reader and I do audio books(something has to make me go to the gym!)

What do I read? Most everything! I am a sucker for romance and enjoy erotic reads as well. I love paranormal and mysteries. I work with teens and am always looking for great YA books to recommend. For a better idea you could check out my read list.

What I do not enjoy, I am not a big horror reader, I like short stories but not a full blown chiller. If it gives you any help, I love Stephen King but only the short stories and novellas. He is a genius with irony!

I am also not overly religious and am not looking for the romances or dramas that are heavy handed with it. I go to church for the sermons I don't need them in my books.

And that sums things up in a nutshell! I post reviews here, Amazon and on one of my book blogs.

A story of love, survival, desperation, compassion and loss: a story of never-ending hope.

message 13: by Christine (new)

Christine Pope | 1 comments Hi, all. I'm looking for a few more beta readers for my latest novel, Binding Spell. It's a fantasy romance in my "Tales of the Latter Kingdoms" series. The books in the series are related only by setting, so you don't have to have read the others to know what's going on.

Here's the (working) blurb:

A case of mistaken identity takes Lark Sedassa from her family's estate and into the power of Kadar Arkalis, the Mark of North Eredor, who had thought he'd captured a much greater prize. Even though he realizes his error, he makes her his bride anyway, still hoping to capitalize on her family's connections. Escape is nearly impossible, and soon Lark is not sure whether she evens wants to leave. Struggling with her growing feelings for her captor and drawn into a deepening mystery in her new home, she must find the strength within herself to draw on powers she didn't know she possessed...both to save the man she calls husband and the people who look to him as their protector.

I do have sort of a tight turnaround on this project, as I need comments back by approximately March 21st. The book is 92,000 words. I really would love feedback on this, more for character consistency, plot holes, etc. -- the sort of comments you'd make in a review. I can provide the book in pretty much any format you need.

If you're interested, please PM me or email christine@christinepope.com.

message 15: by Christy (new)

Christy | 1 comments I would be honored to become a beta reader. I currently read, close to a book a day; love every minute of it. I've been reading romance books lately. Everything from the action packed, suspence romance to the YA books and of course the sappy love stories. I just found I love, love the Paranormal Romance books. I thought I would never get into those but love them. I find myself catching errors when reading on my kindle and highlighting them... not sure why but maybe that habbit could come in handy for an author looking for a beta reader.I'm available if needed.

message 30: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Willard (heidiwillard) I've got a book I need some betas to read. It's a YA paranormal romance:

They are untouched by time, and ravaged only by silver and the sun. They travel where they will and create more of their kind when the will of the Blood Moon calls them.

The Blood Moon stirs the desires of one of these creatures, a vampire with the appearance of a young man, in a small, dusty town in Ohio. He unwillingly takes a young woman to himself, hardly more than a girl, and now must protect her as her Blood Guardian against those who seek to destroy them.

A four-part Young Adult paranormal romance novel series set in the United States of the 1830s.

Here's the first chapter to see if you want to take on the task: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3...

Feel free to pm me if you're interested.

message 38: by Sydney (new)

Sydney Baily (sydney_jane_baily) I'm looking for beta readers for historical romance.

This is the third in a trilogy, though each book stands alone. Set in 1880s America, though not a cowboy western by any stretch, there is train travel, horseback riding, a few gunfights, some gambling and saloon girls, great escapes, a riverboat, a pregnancy, and a happily ever after. (Obviously, this is the first time I’ve tried to summarize this book. I will improve in my summation.)

Length: 94,000 words.
If you want to work in Word with "track changes" on to make comments, that would be great, but other formats will work, too. Note: this book has not yet been copyedited; however, as a professional editor for over 20 years, I am fairly confident it is a clean ms.

And of course, I'm looking for a quick turnaround time with any comments/corrections/story suggestions/feedback you have.

You can find my previous works under Sydney Jane Baily here on Goodreads.

Please reply to sydney@sydneyjanebaily.com.
Thanks very much for considering.

Sandy | 3 comments Hi, I am an avid book reader and would like to be a beta reader. I like to read many different types of books. The only ones I don't care for are sci fi and romance- the harlequin type.

message 40: by Georgiana (new)

Georgiana Derwent (georgianaderwent) | 8 comments Hi, I'm looking for beta readers for my new paranormal novel Ivory Terrors (The Cavaliers: Book Three).

As the name suggests, it's the third book in a series. In order to comment on the plot, it's probably useful for you to have read the earlier books, but you're still welcome to beta it if you haven't, especially if you're good at spotting typos!

I can also provide copies of the earlier books for those who would like to beta the sequel but haven't yet read them. I will need comments by the end of the month though, so that's probably only a good plan if you're a pretty fast reader!

You can read about the existing books here and here:
Oxford Blood (The Cavaliers, #1) by Georgiana Derwent Screaming Spires (The Cavaliers #2) by Georgiana Derwent

The new book is about 130 000 words long.

Looking forward to hearing from people. Contact me through Goodreads or at georgiana.derwent [@] gmail.com

Thanks, G

message 47: by Georgiana (new)

Georgiana Derwent (georgianaderwent) | 8 comments Hello again everyone. With some of the last few comments (44 onwards basically), I wasn't sure whether people were offering to beta my book (which is the last one mentioned on the thread) or just generally saying they'd like to be a beta reader in the future.

If you were specifically interested in my book, Ivory Terrors, can you please send me a private message? If not, no worries, and I hope you get something fun to beta read soon :-)

message 48: by J.h. (new)

J.h. Coates | 3 comments I am currently looking for beta readers for my book My Boyfriend is a MONSTER (available in ePub, Mobi, PDF). The book has been released already but I am wanting to make it stronger and better, as well as fix any mistakes I have missed.

I did not have the means to pay for an editor, (my sad story is on my authors page). And I did not find this awesome site until just a short time ago. So far the few people I have met, have been honest and amazingly helpful. I am relying mostly on my digital channels so I can easily change/fix and upload constantly.

I am not afraid of suggestions of any kind. I am currently writing the sequel (book II), but I am dedicated to trying to make this book the best it can be. I am willing to send a copy to anyone who is willing to take a look. I have gone over the book multiple times and run it through a few different software programs (grammarly, paper rater) but I'm sure I missed some things. Whether it be grammar, sentence structure, maybe a chapter needs shortening, a paragraph needs hacking, it does not matter, any help will be appreciated and acknowledged.

If you are interested, please email me myboyfriendisamonsterbook@gmail.com

Let my know what file you would prefer, ePub, Mobi, PDF.

Thank You

J.H. Coates
