Hey Everyone, I'm Jennifer (or Jen!). I'm 29 (it was my birthday on Saturday!) and I'm originally from Scotland in the U.K. although am living in Perth Australia just now.I LOVE reading!! Dont have a particular favourite but seem to be reading alot of fantasy type books at the minute, I like some YA books, loved Harry Potter and the Hunger Games etc
I dont really like non fiction books, although I dont mind ones by Comedians! At least you get a laugh!
Currently I'm reading the Emperors Edge series by Lindsay Buroker - the genre is called steam
punk which I had never heard of beofre but this series is great-got it cheap on my kindle and so happy I found this series!
Movies - cant beat a good rom-com!! But I also love action/thrillers and loves the LOTR series (as well as the books) although I havent actually seen the Hobbit yet!
Favourite music - very ecclectic but my fav band has to be Matchbox 20-I love pretty much everything they do! Another favourite are the Goo Goo Dolls!
Something interesting about myself? I normally work as an animal nutritionist and I own a flock of prize winning sheep!
Nice to meet everyone :)
Hi Jen,Hi Naina,
Welcome - Will you be taking part in the August group read? Think we will be voting on nominations soon.
I hope you enjoy the group!
To be honest-probably not-I have loads of books on my to read list and it just depends on my mood which one I'll read next! I love the idea of it but maybe not for me? But I do love seeing what the choices are and often add them to my ever expanding list of books to read :)
Hello, everyone!I'm Darlene Deluca, author and reader. Love books! Read lots of different kinds, though I prefer fiction that is relationship based. I'm in a book club that reads a little bit of everything. We met last night and discussed Silence by Shusaku Endo about the persecution of Christians in 1600 Japan! I choose the next book, and it's going to be Benediction by Kent Haruf. I loved Plainsong.
I write contemporary romance, mainstream fiction with romantic elements, and women's fiction. Spent twenty-plus years in corporate America. Got laid off a few years ago, and haven't gone back!
Nice to "meet" you all!
Hello, I'm Katie & I prefer non fiction. I like to read about real ppl & explore their thought processes. I am especially fond of survival stories, be it survival in extreme circumstances such as a plane crash, or surviving more personal, internal conflicts & life in general.
Hey Katie!! I also love survival stories; it's really interesting to compare their experiences to how I think I would react.
Great to meet you, Riya! I do the same thing, but it's hard to imagine my will to live being that strong. I'm always amazed that they didn't give up. I have seen too many episodes of "I shouldn't be alive" to be a risk taker myself! Climbing Mt Everest? Noooo thank you!
I know right!! I can be such a wimp sometimes, so it's super mindblowing seeing how brave people can be. I wish I could know how everyone reacts to such extreme experiences.

hi .. I'm Essam I'm an undergraduate student from SYRIA (could you believe it! :P ).. and I'm studying dentistry :)
..
.
I think the why am here is to get some new topics to read about and some new good titles, and I also may get in some discussion if it's legal :D
ummm maybe I can also share with you - in somehow - some ideas about my middle east, my culture, and my misunderstood religion .. something different from what you see in TV5 :P

>>
thanks so much .. accept my respect :))
Welcome Christina- nice taste in movies and songs!Hey Eliza- if ever you want to try fantasy books again, I can recommend some :)
Hi Essam- we'd love to hear more about you and your culture!!!
Hi I'm Eoghan, 22, from Ireland. I like authors such as Joyce, Orwell, and Cormac McCarthy. I play a millionaire at parties, or, at least I'd like to. And my hobbies include shooting birds at the airport and playing guitar.
I'm Meg and my favourite book is Jane Eyre, I love the Brontë sisters and I also like a bit of Austen too, as well as Hardy. I also really like poetry! Hope to get to know you all better and make some new friends!
Hello beautiful little book lovers! I'm Kaylee and though I barely have any time to read books that aren't forced upon me by my school I find time to read for pleasure as much as possible! Some of my favorite authors include Khaled Hosseini, Dan brown, JK Rowling, John Steinbeck, and I'll just stop there because I could seriously go on forever! I'm fifteen and from the US :)
Hi! I'm Samerah. I'm an engineering student from Philippines.I love books. I eat books three times a day! I read all kinds of books; action-thriller, contemporary, romance, historical, fantasy, supernatural, sci-fi, YA , MA and comedy. As long as it's a good book, I'm a sucker for it.
I also love me some good music/playlist while reading a book. Some of my favorite artists while reading are Hunter Hayes, Maroon 5, Hot Chelle Rae, Greyson Chance and The Script (because I'm currently in the romance-books-addiction-month :D ).
I can't last a week without reading a new book (or re-reading old ones). I can finish a book in less than a day, especially if it's a really good one (like the Hunger Games Trilogy and Percy Jackson Series).
When not reading books, I write songs, poems or even novels (but so far, I'm not making much improvement in my stories, it's just so hard to put all my imaginations on a page, how can authors make it sound so simple?) Or I happily torture my best friend (who is also a book lover, THANK GOD) by teasing her with spoilers from the book she's currently reading (which I already read) :)
I hope to meet a lot of book lovers here :)
Same Meg!!!And welcome Samerah! Your taste in music and book sis awesome! I also have a best friend who's a book lvoer- I think i'd die if that was any other way!!!

So yeah , thanks for having me <3.
Hi, my name is Joe. I'm a wannabe writer and a small brewery owner. I joined Goodreads because I have a novel I'm about to self publish and trying to find ways to market it, but I also enjoy getting involved in online communities like this. Don't worry, I'm not going to be one of those authors that just constantly spam their book and push it down your throat. I really went to get involved and immersed in your group. I look forward to getting to know as many of you as I can.
Hello All!I'm Virginia Tell – reading enthusiast and writer living in Baton Rouge, LA. I was born and raised here, but recently moved back home after 20 years in Dallas. I love literary fiction, and that's mostly what I write, but my recent book was narrative nonfiction – recent, as in, #4!, none of which are published. Awe.
My only daughter is grown, I'm divorced, and I think I might be the happiest person I know. Life is just…well…great, and I'm happy to say hello to a lot of other like-minded ladies!
I read the occasional e-book, but I'm loyal to my tactile love for touching and turning pages, and I love the smell, especially old books – sorry if that sounds weird! If any of you want to know a little more about me, you can read more at www.VirginiaTell.com.
A couple of my friends write, so I'll introduce them to y'all if the opportunity arises – they're published, so they have some good product.
Looking forward to saying hello in the discussions!
Hi Virginia, Welcome! I'm glad to hear you like old book smell - I mentioned that on a post in this group a while ago that I liked the way my new thick Game of Thrones paperback smelled, then I thought my post made me sound like a weird book sniffer! Any way, this is a nice group with eclectic taste in books, so I'm sure you will like it here....
Hi I'm Sigrid and I'm from Kentucky. I like any kind of fiction books especially fantasy, sci-fi, and adventure. It must always have adventure. I like to read, draw, and I love hot chocolate. I also like to travel. I don't like non-fiction so much because it gets boring. I'm trilingual and I have 3 nationalities. I'm Austrian, Mexican, and American. I can speak German, English, and Spanish. Um, I think that's about it, I'm happy I joined this group.
Hello! My names Marie and I'm from Long Island.I love to read, otherwise i wouldn't be here introducing myself to you lovely people. I'll be a junior in High school this year so that's really exciting for me. I write, but it's nothing great, mostly to just blow of some steam I suppose.. My favorite book? Eh if i honestly had to pick, Catcher In The Rye. Now I got to go read some more..c:
Hi everyone! My name is Brynn and I am from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I am an avid reader and will read pretty much anything I can get my hands on. My interests are very eclectic and I am looking forward to talking with other people who share my same love for reading!
Hi Brynn. I'm a Michigander too, but from the blighted Detroit area. Left in 1970. Miss the state, not the city.

Ok, I'll admit I've never actually seen any Godfather movies entirely. I don't have AMC or A&E, but I will have to check them out. I don't want to necessarily get hooked so much that I watch it 37 times, though :)
