Hi All (Jack) i am looking for something in on the lines of the stieg larsson books as i am really liking the Scandinavian crime/suspense/thrillers. i am wanting to read the Jo Nesbo books but the first two harry hole books haven't been translated into English yet they start at book three ?????? i have read all of Bernard Cornwell/Lee Child/Martina Cole & Conn Igguldens books if this helps with my tastes..thanks Mark (from gods own county "Yorkshire")

Hello! My name is Marie and thank you for letting me join your group. I live in Orlando, FL (born in Manila, Philippines) and I have many likes/dislikes that would be too extensive to get into here. I'm currently reading The Different Girl (which I won in a Goodreads giveaway) and The Artemis Effect. I read a little bit of everything but I enjoy fantasy novels the most. I also love character-driven stories and strong female protagonists.
I love books and movies, and I'm super critical about books that are turned into films (I have a hard time separating the two and inevitably compare the film to its source material).
I'm into indie music, with occasional guilty pleasures thrown in. My favorite band is The Beatles.
I'm looking forward to interacting with you all!
Hi Marie and welcome to the group. Have you found that you generally enjoy the books more than the films. Anyway, I'm jack and I'm the group's moderator. If you have any questions just ask.
Oh yeah, and we also have our polls for our monthly read, movie and music and our quarterly read up if you'd like to vote Marie. :)
I almost always prefer the book(s) to the film(s). But if I see the movie before I read the book, it's a toss-up.Thanks for telling me about the polls, I'll be sure to check them out.
Welcome Marie! I have family in Orlando, and I lived there for a while too. Right about now, I am missing the warm weather.
We had a cold snap for like two days and now it's back to 70s/80s again. As much as I enjoy this warm weather I love winter clothing (go figure) so it'd be nice to actually wear coats/scarves/sweaters once in a while :)
My wardrobe had to undergo a serious overhaul when we moved to Montana. I didn't even have a winter coat:)
Hi Holly, welcome t the group. It's great to meet you, and I look forward to interacting with you within the group. :-)
I'm author, PR specialist, and all-round nice guy, Mark McLaughlin. I'm from the Iowa/Illinois Quad-Cities.
Likes? People who treat me nice and have a sense of humor. Dislikes? Killers and other mean types.
I love horror movies (especially vintage horror movies), high-energy dance music, and authors Basil Copper, HP Lovecraft, and Robert Aickman.
I'm mostly Greek, Irish and French ... I've written more than 25 books .... I'm the PR director at an ad agency ... I like monster and zombie movies!

My favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, and Patricia Cornwall just to name a few.Currently working on wedding favors for my son's wedding in July, so I'm pretty busy. I do a lot of my reading in the summer where I can sit on my deck.
Thanks for the invite Kyle.
