I haven't read a book (other than a jnr) for a week!!! Was going great guns for my monthly challenge and now I've fizzed out. Just not in the right head space to read anything. Scary....
Back into it again. Read 5 books over Easter (haven't updated my reading list as yet). Hope everyone had a lovely Easter!!
well done. I've had a string of less than steller books lately. Twice this week I've had to put a book down refusing to finish it and that's rare. At least now I've found something really interesting to read.
Nothing (absolutely nothing!) is worse than getting a run of slack books. I had a great variety (you'll see when I put them up) and none were bad! Also have to read junior books as well for my job which I often resent cos I have sooooo many of my own to read.
My two slack books were unexpected. An author wrote a nice set of 6 books and later added 2 more. The final 8th book was definetly not my cup of tea. (One of the couples who fell in love earlier, now split up. I didn't want to read all the garbage just to get to the HEA.) Second book was non-fiction by a comedien. His first book, which I liked, was a new york times best seller. How was I to know his second book was a bomb? lol

Ta Briansgirl - it was easier this month with having a 4 day weekend near the beginning ;) Still have 2 to go to finish the Read the month challenge (it's gonna get harder after august!)
I'm halfway through my last book to finish the monthly challenge and I finished read the month. What's I've got to work on is 4 more books for the quarterly challenge, what's in a name. Doubt I'll get that one finished. And yeah, starting in August (all those U's! lol) it's gonna get much much harder. Definetly have to cross challenge as many books as possible.
You go Briansgirl! I have put a limit on myself with the challenges as I start to stress myself out if I don't get them done! Not good at all. So I'm sticking with the A-Zs, monthly, read your name & read the month. Phew! I think that is heaps for me, especially as I should be reading more children's and ya fiction than I do.
Well, I like searching for books to fill in the challenges. But every so often, I've ended up with books I didn't feel like reading any longer, or weren't any good. So I frequently change my mind. lol I've also found some good books I wouldn't have otherwise read and new authors. I'm trying not to worry if I don't finish a challenge, but I like finishing them. lol I just don't think I can get through these last 4 books in 4 days. Two maybe, lol, but doubt 4. On the other hand, can't start reading my may books yet. lol
I am too weird... If I pre-pick my books too early, I put myself off reading them!!! I like mostly to have a whole swag of titles to choose from and then try and make them fit. Strange I know.
I change my mind frequently. lol Sometimes I'm just not in a mood to read a certain book. My problem right now is that I'm not fond of medical books or athletes so having trouble filling the doctor and athlete/sports category of the May challenge and Men we love challenge. I've found a book for each, but if I don't like them I don't have many alternatives. I've got an autobiography of an olypmic male figure skater for an athlete I could try if the fictional novel by John Grisham isn't any good.

Hard work this month... Have only read 9 books!!! Last month read 21, what a slacker. Just haven't always been in the mood to read. Slowly getting into it again now. The categories were a bit harder to match for me this month also... Should get the RRC done, but don't know about the read the month challenge
9 books is not that little... I wouldn't call that a slacker, lol. But then I never set my bar as high as 21. And you have most of the monthly challenge covered. Not bad, not bad at all!
Thanks Kasia. You might not call me a slacker, but I'm used to reading a lot more than I have been. I'm off work for a week after 1 June so will get a good head start for June's challenge. I think it's easier for me to get close to completing the challenge cos I only enter a few! Having a look at your Member Reading List is somewhat intimidating. You go Kasia ;)
Thanks for the cheer and all the kind words. All the challenges I post in my reading list might look intimidating but it's all the same few books in different configurations. lol
