That book certainly was. I was laughing like a maniac at all the 'suspenseful' parts because it was so wacky.

Thanks, Sandra. I decided to start it anyhow. I have to review it next week for the blog and I need to get started (it's a long audiobook.)
Regardless, there's a book I have to read next for a series and I found covers for every color in our list:

So wrong I even had to create another copy of my 1956

This was another great installment in the Sirantha Jax series. I'm so sad I only have one book left before the series is over!
As always, this book moved very quickly and picked up right where the last book left off. We see the consequences of Sirantha's actions and the repercussions she faces. There is a ton of focus on Jax and Vel's relationship, which is totally fine by me since Vel is my favorite character. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars for me is that, while most of the book moved quickly, there was one brief part of the book that dragged for me.
It's sad to see plotlines start to get tied up as the series moves toward its end, but I'm definitely looking forward to the last book to see how the remaining storylines get resolved!

Another great book from the series but not quite as enjoyable as the previous books. I wasn't sure about Kaia and Strider as a couple mostly due to my dislike of Kaia but they turned out to be great and I enjoyed reading about the Harpy games.
Now to wait patiently for The Darkest Craving.

Katy lost her father to cancer and finds herself moved from Florida to West Virginia so her mother can get a fresh start. Her mother is a nurse working two jobs which include the night shift leaving Katy free to mingle with neighbors that just happen to be aliens. Katy is a typical high school senior that loves to read and blog about her books. Katy and Dee become fast friends which sets off the rest of the aliens the DOD have placed in this small town, because aliens and humans don't mix. Cue the twilightish similarities with groups of secretive hot alien siblings who sit at their own lunch table, drive fancy cars, and look like models in their fashionable clothing. Dee's twin brother Daemon tries very hard to discourage the friendship with his sister which leads to a few events in which Katy is marked by their essence and becomes a target by the evil dark aliens. I enjoyed the pace of the book and how the author slowly built the love hate relationship between Katy and Daemon. Plan to continue with the series.

I'm 65% into

These last two weeks have been crazy with too many good options.

I'm hoping for orange then, I've been holding off on Frost/ Vlad's latest book.

What if religion is real, not just christian, but all religion. And what if every supernatural being you've ever heard of is real too? Then you'd have Gini Koch's Prosaic City.
Agent Victoria Wolfe, from Prosaic City Police Dept, The Night Beat Division as well as a Major in the Necropolis Enforcement, is our feisty heroine. She is partnered by Agent Jack Wagner, a human police man. It is their job to protect and serve and send Hell's Minions back where they belong.
As you'd expect from a Gini Koch novel, we have a snarky heroine who seems to be right in the middle of the good vs evil battle. Whilst religion is an integral part of the book, it is in no way preachy. Angels are pretty much matter of fact, along with the other members of her Necropolis team, a werewolf who likes to stay in wolf form, a succubus, a zombie, a couple of vampires, a lich and various ghosts.
Favourite good guy quote: "May the Gods and Monsters save us."
The last half of the book really picked up and I was sorry when it ended. I want the next one soon!!

2 or 3 teams are in spot 134 or it's likely we'll be done next week.
We've been a great team, really!

Review: As I've started to expect with Barbara Samuel's books, several social issues were prominent in this story: religion persecution, women's rights and even race issues! And believe it or not, they all made sense within the plot.
For some reason though, I couldn't warm up to the heroine. I thought she was too reckless. I liked that she understood she made a mistake - I also liked how she didn't blame herself completely but understood her brother and former lover held part of the blame - but I couldn't stand her wailing how unfair life was.
I liked how the hero wasn't totally PC or impervious of the mores of the times. I really enjoyed the relationships between all the siblings. It didn't seem the ideal one you see in a lot of romance but it was full of camaraderie, love and annoyance which is definitely closer to the truth.
I will be definitely be checking out the second book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. It started out a little slowly for me, but once I got into it, I didn't want to put the book down, which is always a good sign!
I continue to love all the characters and wish Bob the skull was in this book more because I get a kick out of him. They're just very well-written, although I will say I got very frustrated with Murphy at one point because I thought she was acting incredibly stupid for someone who supposedly believes in the supernatural. That being said, I'm very much looking forward to continuing the series.

Review:
Maya banks never fails to deliver the romance in her books and Highlander Most Wanted was very sweet and romantic. We also get another great hero from Maya Banks, Bowen who turns into Genevieve's knight in shining armor.
The only issue I had was that I feel that Maya Banks sometimes down plays the trauma her heroines go through. What Genevieve went through was described as very traumatic and it felt strange having her overcome it somewhat easily.
A highly enjoyable read with a very sweet ending.
