Week 9
Endlessly by Kiersten White
Date finished: 3/30
Rated: ★★★★
Review: This one's a bit of a tough one for me. I really did enjoy the book, but I also really liked the first two but found them completely forgetable after a couple of weeks. I have a hunch this one will be the same. It was a great ending to the trilogy, I'm just not in love with it. It was good for me though. Enjoyable but forgetable. I will read more by Kiersten White but probably not any time soon.
Sorry for cutting it so close, this has been a kind of awful week for me. BLUE again

Julianne, I'm sorry you had a rough week. Hope everything gets better for you soon.I will be back to pick a blue book later today.
Thanks Amanda, things are definitely looking up. :-)I'm deciding between
or
I'm leaning towards Keri Arthur though cuz I feel like I've been reading a lot of ya lately.
Hoping things get brighter for you this week Julianne! Those types of weeks are really rough.I'll be reading

Review: Book 14 of the Dresden series. Love Harry Dresden. These books always leave me wanting more. I almost wish I wasn't caught up so there would be another book to read.
Week 10:
Title: Legacy of the Clockwork Key by Kristin Bailey
Date finished: 4/5/13
Rating: 3-stars
review: Nothing that really knocked my socks off and actually I'm a bit indifferent to it altogether. I didn't really connect with the characters or their problems, but I didn't hate it, either. Overall, very meh, which is almost as bad as bad.
The Love Shack by Christie Ridgway
Book Completed: April 1, 2013
Rating: ★★★★½
This is the first book of Christie Ridgway’s that I’ve read and it will not be the last. The Love Shack is the third book in the Beach House No. 9 series; however, it can be read as a stand alone novel. So don’t hesitate to pick it up since it’s the third book.
The Love Shack centers around Gage and Skye, but there is also a heart stealing secondary romance between sexy fireman Teague and Skye’s friend Polly. I can’t decide which I liked best; so I’m ecstatic that I don’t have to choose.
The main story though centers around Gage and Skye who are both emotionally damaged. Their story is one of healing and both of them learning to trust again. I won’t say what has scarred each of them, since as in the story that is their's to tell, but needless to say each are only existing and not really living. Together, they learn to heal and live again.
One aspect of Gage and Skye’s relationship that was enjoyable was their correspondence before Gage came back to Crescent Cove. I liked how their letters were woven into the main story to provide greater depth and insight into the characters. As a side note I would take a pen pal in the guise of Gage anytime!!!!
Overall, The Love Shack is an emotionally romantic story that is perfect for beach time, summertime reading. Fans of Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis and Kristan Higgins should check this author out if you haven’t already done so; I know I will.

Kate Burkholder is the Chief of Police in her hometown of Painters Mill, Ohio. When Amish hate crimes are reported in the area and an Amish couple and their relative are found murdered, the mystery ramps up and kept me guessing throughout the book. Kate, due to her Amish past, has many conflicting emotions about the case. State Agent John Tomasetti is called in to help investigate. Kate and Tomasetti are lovers and struggle to define their relationship. I think they are good for each other, with all of their flaws and past hurts helping them understand and support each other. The identity of the bad guy totally surprised me and shocked me. I really enjoy the glimpse into the Amish culture this series provides. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Well, we are in a position to win depending on what we drew. But team 9 has already drawn their card and is quickly reading to finish their books for the win. I'll be up for a little bit and will check back.
Week 10
Darkness Unbound by Keri Arthur
Date finished: 4/6
Rated: ★★★★
Review: Oh how I love Keri Arthur, I'm going to go ahead and say if I had to choose just one, she'd be my favorite author. Risa is half werewolf, half Aedh who can see reapers. I found Risa very likable, and I was skeptical because I was such a HUGE fan of Riley. I was hooked on the first page. Obviously I'll be reading the next book as soon as possible. :)

for me! It's laundry day, so barring any annoying doggie interruptions, I should be able to finish it today.
Judithe wrote: "Juliane, I think you might want to update the date you finished reading your book..."I did, and rated it :/ ...I'll check on that.
Julianne, no problem with the review or rating or anything, just noticed what Amanda said...typo, or amazing powers of moving into the future! *grin*

Book: Blood Dreams - Kay Hooper

Rating: ★★★☆☆
Review: Another in the Bishop/SCU series. I really like this series - a special FBI unit comprised of psychics hunting down serial killers and other evil. Throw in a bit of romance, and you've got a series that I will read until the end.
Week 11 –Cover – Red Cover
Unleash the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Book Completed: April 8, 2013
Rating: ★★★½
Ya can’t go wrong with a Dark Hunter Novel when you need a bit of paranormal romance and Unleash the Night is one of the better ones of the series. Wren is a cutie and although he has been introduced in other books I’m so glad he got his own, because his story is one of the more unique ones of the series.
Can’t say that I like Maggie right off the bat; but I came to enjoy her with Wren. They have that chemistry and balance together that makes a great couple. Good story but nothing too earth shattering to make it a great read.

A Bloody Good Secret is another enjoyable installment in the Secret McQueen series. Secret is a really fun heroine and each book in this series is a nice blend of action, humor, romance and suspense that keeps the reader entertained. This book also had a nice plot twist at the end that left me looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Sherri, we actually have 6 players...
Week 10:
Title: Naked in Death by J.D. Robb
Rating: 3-stars
Date Finished: 4/8/13
Review: I must be the last person I know to have finally started this series and while I did enjoy this book, it didn't quite live up to all of the hype. I really like Eve and even Roarke to a certain extent, but Roarke's mystique wasn't exactly sexy and frankly I found his overbearing manner at times annoying. The world building was interesting without info-dumping and I like that it's set in the future. Overall, I'll be continuing with the series, but the fact that the author is on #37 is a little daunting.
Thanks for correcting me Judithe. I didn't recognize that teams were uneven. Team #9 is at 4/6. So it is a sprint to the end! Who knew there was so much stress with a reading challenge. LOL!!

Review: What was I thinking reading a book that I don't already own the next one in the series?! Jacinda is a Draki, a descendant of dragons and is forced to flee her home with her family. The dragon insode of her is dying except when she is with Will, who hunts Draki. Total Romeo and Juliet. This book was really well written, I felt the sadness and the anguish of Jacinda as she struggled to fit in. I'll be heading to book depository shortly to order the next book.
