Thanks for the great picks. Now to pick one to start with. Probably
Three to Get Deadly or Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs but then again Cinder looks so intriguing. There are a couple of others I will try to read too. but I have to limit myself or I get nothing done.

Yes I have never read a Nora Roberts book. But I have resolved myself to fix that! Thanks you for the picks they were all great except for Sweet Talk which I have already read.

For this months challenge I am going to try to read a lot of your recommendations. I have requested the following from the library.

Iced (Fever #6, Dani O'Malley #1) by Karen Marie Moning The Witness by Nora Roberts Hopeless by Colleen Hoover Easy by Tammara Webber Hot in Here by Sophie Renwick Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts Blue Bayou (The Callahan Brothers, #1) by JoAnn Ross The Lady Most Willing... A Novel in Three Parts by Julia Quinn

Hopefully I will be able to get through them all!

Thanks for the great picks Photojim!
I think you didn't notice but I have already read Northern Lights I am a huge Nora Roberts fan and have read mostly all her books. So maybe you can pick another book for that category?
Other than that, I will try to read Start Me Up, Wallbanger and Unleashed
And also a YES to the Buddy read for Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec let me know when you want to start.. :)

I'll find another outdoor book for you tomorrow. I'm leaving for work now and then going to an NHL game tonight. I'll probably start Seduction and Snacks tonight as I'm between books and downloaded this to my phone yesterday. An hour to read before bed should just about do it for the day.

Scratch that. The book I think you should read with outdoor activities and fun is
Nerd Gone Wild (Nerds, #3) by Vicki Lewis Thompson . Yes it is book three. No, it doesn't matter. Books are not related at all. No overall story arc. Only related by common theme. I'm still on with the buddy read starting tonight though.

message 436: by Kristina Simon (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) Hi Rebecca!
Hope you can find something you're interested in reading here. If not, just let me know and I'll try again!

1. Romance with a virginal character:
Matched by Ally Condie or Rampant by Diana Peterfreund -- killer unicorns! 'Nuf said.

2. New-to-you Author:
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning -- this one's on your TBR list, but it doesn't look like you've read any KMM, yet. You gotta read this series! It's excellent.

3. Red Hot cover:
Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost -- yummy! I haven't read any of this series, but I love, love, love her Night Huntress series.

4. Red Hot Buzz:
Hopeless by Colleen Hoover or Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins if you're in the mood for something lighter.

5. Sweet- Friends to Lovers story
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally or The Next Best Thing by Kristan Higgins both really cute.

6. Tart- Book set in the food industry
I really enjoyed Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. And I've just stumbled across Elin Hilderbrand's The Blue Bistro, which also looks good.

7. A hunky, outdoorsman hero or a book set in the wilderness/woods:
The Host by Stephenie Meyer -- this is definitely set in the wilderness and it's an AWESOME story! You seem to have liked her Twilight series. This one's even better, i think.

8. A bad boy hero with a heart of gold. Maybe he is just misunderstood....
The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines or Something About You by Julie James look like something you might enjoy.

MountainKat | 31576 comments Hi Carla, here are your picks - finally! I hope you like them, I will be happy to try again to make sure you get something you like after waiting so long! You have so many really good books on your to-read shelf, I picked a lot of them off there. But you said in your description that you especially liked Regency period books, so I gave you some of my favorite historicals too. Though not all regency. =)

I couldn't resist when I learned it was 'Cherry' Month..

1. 1. Recommend a Romance with a virginal character: The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James, I love this series! I'm planning to read this one this month too, so maybe a buddy read? (It would have to be really soon, I need it for the Around the World Challenge.)

2. Recommend a New Author: I have two new authors for you, both on your TBR but you haven't read them yet. First is the Simply Irresistible, the first book in Jill Shalvis's Lucky Harbor series. I think that series just gets better and better and can't wait for the next one! The second is Shannon Stacey's Exclusively Yours. Her Kowalski family is wonderful! I started the latest book this morning and am so excited to see how it goes!

Cherries are Red, the color of passion and desire...

3. Choose a Romance with a Red Hot cover: Two more new ones from your to-read shelf, hot covers and good stories too! The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton by Jaci Burton and Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, #1) by Julie James by Julie James.

4. Recommend a title that has been getting some Red Hot Buzz: I read both On Dublin Street by Samantha Young and Bared to You by Sylvia Day recently and thought they both lived up to the buzz. Especially On Dublin Street!

Some cherries are sweet, some tart...

5. Sweet- Recommend a Friends to Lovers story: Took me awhile to find a good one here, but I did and it is a book I loved! A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah Maclean was really good, I hope you will like it too!

6. Tart- Choose a title with a prostitute as a main character, or a book set in the food industry: How about one of each? The Duke by Gaelen Foley has a great Pretty Woman vibe and is the first in an enjoyable series! Crystal Cove by Lisa Kleypas, it is out in a few days and it looks like you enjoyed the previous books in the series. Running a Bed and Breakfast counts as the food industry in my book!

George Washington said "I cannot tell a lie...I chopped down the cherry tree."

7. Recommend a Romance with a hunky, outdoorsman hero or a book set in the wilderness/woods: I loved both Honor's Splendour by Julie Garwood and In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks and think that both heroes fit here!

8. Choose a title with a bad boy hero with a heart of gold. Maybe he is just misunderstood.... I wish I could suggest The Seduction of Elliot McBride by Jennifer Ashley as a buddy read, but I don't see finding time for it until next month. I have heard really good things about it though and cant wait till I can read it!

Happy Reading!

message 447: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11327 comments Ok Sassafrass, after all that waiting, here you go! I was really glad Fran asked me to pick for you – I hope my picks can live up to the ones I got from you a couple of months ago!

I couldn't resist when I learned it was 'Cherry' Month...
1. Recommend a Romance with a virginal character
The Locker Room – I just started reading this, and I’ve heard great things about it.
2. Recommend a New Author - A couple of options here…I LOVED Dragon Bound and was amazed to see that you didn't have Thea Harrison anywhere on your bookshelves. OR I just recently discovered Andrew Grey – read A Taste of Love last month and really enjoyed it.

Cherries are Red, the color of passion and desire...
3. Choose a Romance with a Red Hot cover - When I was going through your shelves I kept coming back to Jealous And Freakn' (I REALLY need to check out this series…)
4. Recommend a title that has been getting some Red Hot Buzz - a new release, something everyone is talking about
On the Island – I’m not normally a big fan of YA, but this was excellent OR Gabriel's Inferno – I’ve been hearing so much about this one, I really need to bump it up higher on my TBR

Some cherries are sweet, some tart...
5. Sweet- Recommend a Friends to Lovers story
Fix You – I’m planning on reading this one this month, so I’d be up for a buddy read if you’re interested OR Practice Makes Perfect – more of a friendly adversaries to lovers story, but really good.
6. Tart- Choose a title with a prostitute as a main character, or a book set in the food industry
Tart – can’t fit the category much better than that! OR Futures and Frosting, another one that I’m tentatively planning on reading this month, so another buddy read possibility

George Washington said "I cannot tell a lie...I chopped down the cherry tree."
7. Recommend a Romance with a hunky, outdoorsman hero or a book set in the wilderness/woods
Game for Seduction – you recommended the first book to me and it was great, so now I’m returning the favor…and yes, I’d love to do a buddy read of this one, too!
8. Choose a title with a bad boy hero with a heart of gold. Maybe he is just misunderstood....
One Reckless Summer – Wonderful book with one of the most misunderstood bad boys I’ve ever come across! OR Down to You – this was recommended to me this month also, so it’s yet another buddy read possibility, but only if we leave it to the latter part of the month.

I'm pretty sure you can find something you like here, but if not let me know and I’ll give it another shot! :D Happy reading!

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments LMAO, man, February really isn't my month! And it's my birthday month, too. I'm not going to read too much into this.

Thanks so much for the Rec, ~KarenH~. I don't even know where to begin. I am definitely going to some of these buddy reads.

I'm definitely going to read:
The Locker Room by Amy Lane
Jealous And Freakn' (Freakn' Shifters, #2) by Eve Langlais
Fix You (Second Chances, #1) by Mari Carr --definitely up for the buddy read
Tart (Delicious, #2) by Lauren Dane
Game for Seduction (Bad Boys of Football, #2) by Bella Andre --yes, BR!!
Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1) by M. Leighton --BR AGAIN!

and I'm really going to try to get to:
One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake and Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison since you recommended them
and also
Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard

Thanks again for the great recs. I have a ton of reading to do! LOL

The seasonal differences can be hard to get your head around when you are sitting in humidity and 33 celsius/91F (quite a reasonable day for this time of year) c/to your freezing weather. Nope! Just can't imagine it at the moment! ;)
