Some of the reviews that I've read mention that it has a bit of a slow start. Are you finding this to be the case?

message 160: by [deleted user] (new)

Not really, but then there are some who will judge a book from just cover and if the first paragraph doesn't grab them they don't read the rest of the book. Drives me crazy! I want to say but you've barely given it a chance you haven't even gotten to the meat of the story:)

I agree - I try to force myself through at least the first 50 pages of a book before giving up. It sounds like I'm really going to like this, though.

I'm almost done with Allegiant. When I'm finished, I'm going to start the Divergent Companion Books. Has anyone read them/wants to share thoughts and opinions on them?

I read free four & the world of divergent. Free four was interesting because it's about Four's perspective of the knives throwing scene. The world of divergent is kinda like a booklet about the 5 factions. Also, in it the author talks about Utopian society. Both were nice & provided info. that help you understand better.

I didn't realize the world of divergent was part of the series! It sounds really good - maybe I'll start with that one!

I just started reading City of Heavenly Fire, and I'm so excited! I went to a book signing with Cassandra Clare over the weekend, had her sign and personalize my copy, and even had an opportunity to ask her a few questions! I was only minorly fangirling, as always :)

And of course, I've already started summer reading. Pride and Prejudice is just so intriguing (note the sarcasm). Luckily, we're required to read the annotated version, so I'm not struggling as much as I had expected. But it's still very slow reading.

And of course, I had my wisdom teeth taken out a few hours ago, so I should have plenty of time for reading over the next week or so.

What was your favorite book in the series? Everyone I've asked seems to like The Crown Conspiracy the best...

Well, I'm still in the 3rd one so I can't really say. I don't think I'd be able to choose even after finishing the series because each book so far was great & with each installment, new info. are revealed making it an essential one in the series.

I am so. Darn. Close. To. Finishing. It's only taken me a week and a half to get through all 740 pages.

Nada Al-Karmi (nadooush) I'm 71% into Wintertide, the 4th book in the Riyria Revelations series.

I just start The Book Of Lost Things. It starts out on quite a sad note, but it seems like an interesting read and up my alley that I will continue on with it. Plus I never judge a book by its first sentence.
