Okay, well you see I loved Sam. He was just totally awesome and when he died, I cried. I never cry about book characters and then when he died I sat there and cried....A LOT! I'm pretty sure it was because of how awesome Sarah Maas wrote the novellas. I thought that after reading about Sam's death I wouldn't be able to read Throne of Glass, but I did and it was good. Wow writing this has made me depressed again. :(

I cried bucketloads - like, non-stop sobbing, nose honking and sniffling! I read the novellas after Throne of Glass, and it just made me appreciate Celaena's strength all the more. The fact she is able to smile and act the way she does after everything...is amazing. Sarah is an amazing author and Sam is a character that makes such an impression on us, in so short a period of space and time.
I was never a big fan of Sam. He's charming and nice and everything but I never really cared for him. I think it's got a lot to do with the writing of the novellas that I really didn't like (but loved the writing in Throne of glass). I also felt the plot and Celaena feelings were a little rushed (believe but rushed).By the way, could someone remind me, did Celaena found his body in the novellas or was just told Sam was dead?

I didn't read the Novellas but I did see some exerts like when Sam told her that he loved her. And when Celaena seen his dead body. I also think Arobynn had something to do with his death.

In CoM, Celaena makes parallels between Sam and Chaol saying how similar they were in terms of their loyalty and goodness. I'm not too sure if I agree with that parallel though =P Sam is a bit milder than Chaol...not as serious. Also I love Sam's unwavering loyalty to Celaena compared to Chaol's inconsistent loyalty.

i don't think sam is dead i think Arobynn Hamel faked sams death and poisoned him the same way celena was poisoned and was knocked out what if that poison slows down your heartbeat and makes it hard to hear maybe Arobynn Hamel told sam after he awoke that celena had tried to murdered the people who killed sam then celena was captured by the same people and arobynn hamel and was taken to the glass castle but sam was forced to go to the silent assassins that is what i thinkthanks for reading what i think will happen

While I would like to believe Sam isn't dead, I don't think Arobynn would have any reason to keep him alive. Arobynn didn't care about Sam, he only saw him as a threat that was trying remove Celaena from his life/control.

between Chaol, Dorian and Sam...I loved Sam the most, than there's Dorian and as the last comes Chaol. if there was the smallest chance that Sam was alive, I would want him with Celaena, but because we know KNOW his dead, I want her to end up with Dorian.

I think Sam is the reason I am so desperate for Celaena to pick Chaol- Sam and Chaol are so similar, so loyal, so brave and passionate- Oh god, this breaks my heart :(
Actually I kinda see Sam as a mixture of Dorian and Chaol.. Maybe that's why Celaena's attracted to both of them?

And just an idea, even though Maas has confirmed he is dead. Though maybe she said that to avoid spoiling other books. ;D
Considering Celeana is... *_insert spoiler here_*, and Sam was considered her equal could he also be?
With the pirate novella, Sam should have died. With the whole crumbling tower, and yet he still survived.
So maybe... he'll be waiting in Wendlyn? ;)
(Basically I'm really really desperate for him to be alive and I'm holding onto the slimmest chances until the whole series is over. And then some. Because Sam will always be alive for me.)

Am I the only one that thinks Sam deserves more fanarts?:( I mean, there are like only 3 fanarts and he was such an important character (because he is definetely dead, and as much as my heart hurts, i think it is better that way, i mean- i really, really loved him but i read the novellas and theres no way he is alive) in celaena's life and character development, i think he deserves much more importance. If I drew I would totally make like thousands of fanarts about him.

This is just after she sees Sam's body for the first time and just...that last bit where she says there is a musky scent that isn't his and that he used his soap for once (when he's favored her Lavender soap) AND that his eyes were removed (which is the easiest way for us to identify people) makes me think that Sam ISN'T dead. I don't think that the author would mention these things without reason, honestly.
Part of me wants him to remain gone because CHAOL but at the same time I would seriously not mind if he returned, y'know? Just, GAH. I just finished Assassin's Blade and this is bugging me so much.
EDIT: I just read the Maas thread linked in above coments and am saddened by this. That would have been a really great and unexpected twist. But, I will point out that no author is going to admit if he is alive if they plan to use it as a twist. So I still have hope.

I really hope Sam is alive. Also, that Ms. Sarah just want to crush our souls when she answered in an interview that Sam is really dead.
I just read the novellas a month or so ago and I. CRIED. MY. FACE. OFF. When Sam died. it was literally so sad. o_OI am a Doraena shipper all the way, but I find myself loving Samaena too.
I really really wish Sam were alive. And I think I will sort of always hope he is. But at this point I doubt it...
Wasn't it Arobyn, the king of Assassins, that was responsible?

Guys why are we emotionally torturing ourselves thinking about Sam...:( He was/is my favorite out of all of Aelin's men.

I read a post somewhere that said Sarah J. Maas confirmed that Sam was really gone and would remain dead :(
