OMG I have found it, after hours of searching. If anyone else remembers this book or wants to look it over, it is called "Puzzle Body"

I think it's by Stephen Stanley. There's no copies on Goodreads, and I can't find much of a description anywhere on the net, but Stephen Stanley seems to have a book called Puzzle Bodies: Beware Invading Bugs that's a juvenile book about germs.
Yeah it is a great little book for kids haha. Very similiar to wheres wally, but your spotting all the 'germs'. There is no copies being sold and no details on it, I am quite dissappointed.
Are you in Australia Brendon? This seems to be an Australian book, now out of print, so your best chance of finding it might be in used book stores in Australia. Or maybe Bookon or one of the other used-book online sellers. Or possibly eBay, but there's no copies on there at the moment. He seems to have written and illustrated a few books of this nature:

Hi.... you've probably seen me around. I am glad you found your book! Like my step brother Varjak, I have fictional characters trying to escape from my body at the moment. No book about it though.... yet!

I too have been searching for this book for a long time. i always go into slavos hoping to come across it, but no such luck! i wish they would sell a few copys online.

There was a children's book I used to read at school about 10 years ago and back then it was still old.
It was similar to "Where's Wally?" where you find the characters. However, there were many characters, usually oddly shaped, sought of like monsters (Ninja, Red jug, Army Leutenant) and they are all trying to escape the human body, with one character dying on each page and the others progressing and evolving. This was a fantastic childhood picture book, but I cannot remember anything about the title!! Please Help! P.S I know the army character survives all the way to the brain on the last page and the author did other books, with different characters escaping scenarios in space.
