Diana | 9 comments A powerful woman creates or designates an island just for girls so that they can learn to be powerful women, too. The girls chosen to go to this island are all already gifted in some way like in the arts and such. I think the woman made her fortune through cosmetics. Her son is the only boy in the island and she forbids any of the girls from interracting with him. One of the girls is faking to be a famous poet. The boy and she like each other. Towards the end, the real poet girl arrives at the island. That's all I remember for right now.

Nomansland?

Diana | 9 comments No. In the book, the girls are invited into this 'school' and are aware of the real world. The girls are chosen because they're talented in singing or dancing or poetry or any art.

Is it a book for children/teens/adults? New publication or did you read it awhile ago? How long ago?

Diana | 9 comments I read it a few years ago. Something else about the storyline, the girl who was pretending to be the famous poet was accused by some other girls about being a bad person because they discovered her diary or something like that. The girls thought it was talking about them because it had the initials H.A.D. , but it was actually an acronym the girl used. It meant Hopes And Dreams.
