@Zeenat - I know what you mean about being busy! I haven't even had time to do any book reviews - although I have read a lot of Books; seems I can always find time for that! One thing about reading on your own - you can knock out a book a day easy! I think I started my reread a couple of weeks before the book came out.

@Llaph - I have a love/hate relationship with the Merry Gentry series - I love to read the books, but there's always something in it that pis**s me off! I bought the new one - A Shiver of Light - but I can't quite make myself read it yet! Also, I'm trying to remember where it left off - there's no way I can do a re-read of the series.

I reread the book yesterday, and a couple of thoughts;

Harry's Love Life: (view spoiler)[ Molly's in her late twenties - so she's fair game for Harry. I think it was the last book where Harry said to her that if they ever do it, it won't be in the back of a car (at least I think it was a car). Does that mean anything? Don't know. I must say that I've always been hoping that Harry and Karrin would work out their differences, but I just don't see it. (hide spoiler)]

Goodman Grey (view spoiler)[ I thought due to Goodman's mentioning of Margaret LaFey that it was possible that he was another brother, but after rereading the book, it seems he was just referring to her notariaty in the same way as his fathers. Oh well, still just Thomas. (hide spoiler)]

Maggie (view spoiler)[ It's good that Harry is spending some time with Maggie, and it's REALLY good that Molly kept putting him in front of Maggie - kind of like keeping him alive in her mind. Once she finds out she's his daughter, maybe her and Harry can move in with Karrin and be one big happy family. Or, if things don't work out with Karrin and Harry, maybe not. (hide spoiler)]

The question was (view spoiler)[ are you Harry Dresden. I read the book twice, once the day it came out and then reread it yesterday. I don't recollect him saying I'm your daddy. Charity made the comment that there were kids that needed their father, and when he commented that he would make sure Michael got back, Charity said "I was talking about you."

It's possible that I missed the line about Harry telling her he's her father, but I really don't think he's ready to tell her yet. He has too many issues going on, and I believe that he's afraid she'll get sucked into his trouble.

But I think it means that they accepted their roles as father daughter. I don't know if the details of how he is her daddy matters at this point (hide spoiler)]

Harry/Maggie (view spoiler)[ Yes, I remember her asking him if he wanted to be her daddy, and he said yes, but I don't recollect him saying "I am your daddy" to her. If they had had "the talk" I'm pretty sure we would have read it in the book. The important thing is, as Zeenat pointed out, that they have accepted the role of father/daughter; this is the first step in him telling her he really is her dad. With her already being snatched once and almost whacked, I can see him being hesitant to make it official, but 1) all the bad guys already know about her so hiding it from Maggie is senseless, 2) when she was originally taken he didn't even know she existed and yet she was fair game to the vamps, and 3) Maggie needs to know someone loves her besides the dog, and with the love of a father she will have a foundation on which she can start piecing her life back together. Harry needs to fulfill his duties not only as a biological father, but as a real father, and take over raising the girl. Just my two cents... (hide spoiler)]

It's taken me a while but I'm now a DF fan- as long as the books keep coming out in ecopy. Storing 20 books from one series is absurd!

lol! 20 books? That's nothing compared to some series I have read. The absurd part is that the quality hasn't gone down, but each book has gotten better. (it has for me at least)
