I had a hard time with that too Claire, (view spoiler) but you have to remember that between each book is a long time... I think book 1-3 is over a year and half to two years. Which I think is actually long time to be dating someone and not (view spoiler)
That's what I never realized. I always thought that the books were much closer together because of the timelines in other book series I'm reading. When I realized that Susan and Harry had been a couple for over a year, their relationship made a lot more sense.
I think JB is an amazing author, but I wish he'd more clearly outline time passing.
yeah the timeline is one issue I have. over 14 books, 11 or 12 years pass... which means over 23 books, there is going to be 20 years? ehhhhhh...
A lot of the books have at least 6 months pass between them. The first book takes place in early summer/late spring. Book 2 takes place like 6 months later. There is at least a 6 month gape between almost all of them. That's what makes it more difficult to process Harry and Susan's relationship. Especially if you are reading the books all at once like most of us have been doing. And yeah, it's been at least 11 years between Strom Front and Cold Days.
I wonder if his last books are gonna be closer together... I mean changes--ghost days--cold days were only 9 months apart
There's going to be 23 books... so no. The last 3 are supposed to be some kind of apocalyptic scenario... so I'm guessing they are going to be close-ish together.
If anyone owns the 6th book on Kindle, could you mind lending it to me? I can give you my Kindle email.
Claire wrote: "I'm pretty sure all kindle books are. Thanks!"What's your kindle email so I can try to change it.
@Zeenat (view spoiler)
Sorry, but it didn't work because my computer didn't know how to open the file. If you go on Amazon's FAQs it tells you how to go about lending a book. When Gin lent me Dead Undead, it just showed up on my amazon account. That said, please don't worry about it if it's too much trouble!
Ah, I see. When I found the book in my kindle library, it didn't have a lendable option on it, but I know of a different way to send it. I've sent things to people this way before, so it should work.
It's awesome that he set up foreshadowing in book 6 for book 11/12. Actually, he set up foreshadowing in book 3 for book 14... Now that's is planning!
Yes, he really did. He's definitely become one of my favorite authors. There are some other times when he sets up some foreshadowing, too.(view spoiler) I just love how he's kept an ongoing storyline when at first you don't realize that all of this madness is happening for a reason and is all connected.
Yeah that's why I think this "other harry" in his head means something (view spoiler) that's my crackpot theory lol
You real do. It won't be hard to keep all of the info together. You'll see. Once Harry realizes some things, you'll be like, "Oh snap!" and you'll see how things interconnect.
Claire, Murphy with a chainsaw didn't do it for you? LOL Mello wasn't that around when you said "murphy wasn't that bad" LOL!!I got to the place in dead beat where Butters assumes Harry is gay... lol
Oh yeah. Murphy with the chainsaw in Summer Knight was badass. That's when I started to let up on my dislike of her.Lmao @ that part. I loved all those times of people thinking Harry was gay. First that chick Thomas had over, then Butters. "If I'm your friend, how come you never told me you were gay?"
I'm finding this book a lot more enjoyable than I did the first time around. I think because I was reading this book right before the holidays, so I rushed it. I took my time in the bookstore parts, trying to pick up (view spoiler). Now I'm getting to the museum... So looking forward to Sue!
Omg! Those parts when it was found out what was really going on, I was so shocked! I was wondering why everyone was looking at him like he'd lost his mind!
Just read book 6! Parts of the book were missing so I may find a version online to fill in the dots, but I did really like it.
Yeah I guess I was so mad at Murphy that I rated the book 4/5 the first time. But rereading it, It was kick butt. This line was my favorite:(Talking about Mouse)
“I wonder if he’s an actual breed.”
Charity glanced over her shoulder and said, “He looks something like a Caucasian.”
“Impossible,” I said. “He has rhythm and he can dance.”
Now I'm rereading White Night. And uh Harry in Thomas' apartment... PRICELESS! And Elaine is back... ugh.

Then there is the whole winter knight/winter lady relationship. Like NO NO NO NO! I don't want a relationship between the two. I don't even want sex. If anything happens between them, it will hurt so many people and relationships... ugh.
I don't agree with Mab about Harry isolating Molly. She chose it, cause she crushed on him so bad, but she has a huge family, and hung around murphy and co. when she wasn't busy being rag lady... I think Mab said that to mess with Harry.
Murphy and Harry.... sighhhh. I think thiw as finally moving forward, as Murphy said "she needs time" and they kissed. As long as nothing happens with Molly, I think this will happen. (hide spoiler)]
Yeah I have no idea about the (view spoiler)[ starborn stuff (hide spoiler)]
as for the voice/parasite (view spoiler)[ I think there are two different things at play here. There is the voice in harry's head, and the parasite in everyone else's head. I think Harry has had a voice from his childhood , the "evil" harry. That's who he was talking to with lash, and who kept him going. (hide spoiler)]
