message 612: by Maggie (new)

Maggie R | 1 comments Hi! I'm Maggie, just now exploring everything that's on goodreads. My favorite genres are dystopia and sci-fi/fantasy. I will pretty much read anything falling into those categories but I can go for a sappy romance or a crazy teen drama too!

I like all sorts of books, but preferably dystopian and fantasy novels. Those are my favorites.

message 622: by Devani Anjali (new)

Devani Anjali (DevaniAnjali) | 11 comments I’m Devani ... obviously. I LOVE reading. I grew up on Harry Potter books & am an avid Potterhead. Huger Games is great, and so is The Chronicles of Elantra. While HP is one of my favorite books in the world I also enjoy more non-popular, unknown authors like Libba Bray.... I’m a chocolate and iced coffee addict, but anything that has caffeine is fine by me. Monkeys and elephants rule and you should always always always remember to turn to page 394.

message 623: by Tex (new)

Tex (Texd) | 29 comments Hello, My name is Taimoor (but I prefer to be called Tex) and I am currently an unemployed full-time high school student. I really enjoy reading dystopian, sci-fi and paranormal fiction with less romance and more action. I'm currently reading The Darkest Minds and I'm absolutely in love with all the characters and the plot. My favourite books of all times are The Hunger Games trilogy, Trylle trilogy, Thirteen Reasons Why, Sisterwife, Shiver trilogy, and various others... My favourite academic subjects are Biology and Math. That's pretty much about me, I guess. :L

message 624: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments Hey, Tex!

I love Hunger Games and Trylle, too, but I hardly ever see an other posts on the Trylle series! Glad to have another fan in the group! :)

message 625: by Tex (new)

Tex (Texd) | 29 comments My pleasure, Celeste :) (view spoiler)

message 626: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments LOL, do you like more of Amanda Hockings stories? I haven't been able to get into her other books, not like Trylle.

u cried?

message 628: by Tex (new)

Tex (Texd) | 29 comments Nope, I find the new Watersong series she wrote a bit too girly. :l I mean I do like romance in context but mermaids or whatever those creatures are, I personally find them too girly.

message 629: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments I think it's cool that Tex was that connected emotionally to the characters. I love being that involved.

I love James Patterson too! The Witch and Wizard series rocked! I haven't read his others, but I loooove angel stories!

Tex (Texd) | 29 comments Celeste wrote: "I think it's cool that Tex was that connected emotionally to the characters. I love being that involved."

You might find me too weird but I like emotional reads and books with sad endings.

message 633: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments No, that's not weird! I think we all love a good tragedy. :)

I do too!! Tearjerkers are the best <3

message 635: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments Just like the ending of Mocking Jay. It was sad, but it made the story more real.

message 636: by Tex (new)

Tex (Texd) | 29 comments Very true! tears are the best stress relievers.

message 637: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments I agree, and I'm a fan of dark stories more than comedy.

Tex (Texd) | 29 comments Celeste wrote: "I agree, and I'm a fan of dark stories more than comedy."

I also love reading books that features forbidden love :l

message 639: by Celeste (new)

Celeste Holloway (ch35) | 38 comments For sure! The more forbidden, the better! I like the high stakes! When I write, I always try to throw in a dash of forbidden love. That keeps things more interesting. :)

message 640: by Evan (new)

I like books and anime! Also games and some other random stuff!

Devani Anjali (DevaniAnjali) | 11 comments Celeste wrote: "Just like the ending of Mocking Jay. It was sad, but it made the story more real."

same here! I like how it wasn't just a "everyone lived happily ever after..." ending. That would have made it kinda corny. While I don't like how certain people didn't make it, she did a good job with the whole series in general.

message 643: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments I totally agree with you, Devani! Even though I wanted Katniss to choose Gale. :P

ME TOO Sapir .. thought he was better through the whole book! I was Team Gale the whole way! :)

message 645: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 407 comments Yeah me too! When I read that Peeta was hijacked I couldn't help being happy because I though there's no chance now Katniss will end with him. I guess I was wrong!

message 646: by Devani Anjali (new)

Devani Anjali (DevaniAnjali) | 11 comments it was an interesting twist ... she’s good at that ... most books you can pretty much tell what’s going to happen but she had the ‘surprise factor’ right till the end (:

But I think she used a lame excuse as for why Katniss gave up on Gale. He thought about a trap that killed her sister. So what? It doesn't make her death his fault.

yea ... Katniss had some weird rational and thought process in the whole series... I didn’t like her as much as Gale ... but my all time favorite character had to be Haymitch :)

message 650: by Sapir (last edited Jun 24, 2013 05:09AM) (new)

Sapir | 407 comments lol Haymitch. He's the only character I loved the movie casting of!
