Sonila wrote: "And btw I just started reading "The Other" from my to read list... For this year... Am excited to see so many awesome books mentioned here..."That looks good. I'm always on the look out for a suggestion in any genre. Let me know how you're getting on (I'm not allowed to buy any more books until I've read at least two or three I've already got. Since I got my Kindle and joined Goodreads there's just too much intriguing stuff out there! :)

Sonila wrote: "Ok am new but I have a question .. Why do I see mostly women on all these discussion threads... ? :-) Are we just reading a lot more than men or I need to wait n see more threads before deciding :-)"At the risk of sounding like a fossil, I would venture a theory. In general, women read more than men because they have more opportunity. A lot of women are not confined to a job location every day. They can read in small increments while waiting for the laundry, waiting in line to pick up the kids, waiting at the doctor's office, etc. I find that now I am retired, I do a lot more reading than when I was working.
I just checked out "The Stonecutter" by Camilla Låckberg electronically from the library onto my kindle. This author is being described as a worthy successor to Stieg Larsson. We shall see.
I'm currently reading 'Carrie' by Stephen King. It's an interesting book, but I'm not sure my feelings on it.I bought 'Before I Fall' by Lauren Oliver today for £1.99(!) so I think that is my next read.
Michelle wrote: "I'm currently reading A Map in Time and LOTR: Return of the King. They're both quite good! The first book was really good.

It is a really great read especially if you are interested in the human mind. This..."
If you like, I Never Promised you a Rose Garden I think you might like Sunshine in Darkness...it’s about a girl who’s been trapped outside her body for 17 years. After she takes it back from the Intruder who stole it, she has to learn how to live in a world she has only observed --also no one believes her story so she's sent to a mental institution where she must prove her sanity and fight other intruders. It’s a metaphorical coming of age story... :) Just thought I would share.
May I recommend BROKEN BRIDE, to all the great readers here,it's intriguing, romantic and breadthtaking:http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BC3NMRW
Anne a promising model who detested the poverty of her family, was forced to marry Ken,a millionaire older playboy keen on spicing up his sex life, using his wealth as a bait and luring young blooded girls seemed like the best idea. It came at a cost when Anne developed a dying hunger for sex and outlandish neediness to be loved after what looked like her first trial marriage with a millionaire husband crashed at an early age.
Discover the true life story of a broken African queen, gripping and intriguing from the start.
Rooky wrote: "@HAILEY I've heard of the Iron Fae series...But waht is it actually about??"
It's kind of a spin off of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". So it features the faeries from that as many of the characters, and its about a girl who finds out her father is Oberon, who is the king of the Summer Court of faeries. Her younger brother is kidnapped by the fae, so she travels to the Nevernever (fairyland) to save him. They're really pretty good, I just got annoyed by the main character sometimes. But I loved the supporting cast :)
Currently I am reading a few books. I am reading Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter which I am really digging so far. I nearing completion of Last Words by George Carlin. Overall it is pretty good.
Haley wrote: "Sara wrote: "Haley wrote: "I just started

Haley wrote: "Also, to YA lovers (especially those of you who like YA dystopian and fantasy) I would highly recommend the book
. It's phenomenal - I read it in a day!"I'm not usually a fast reader, but I also devoured this in a day! I'd recommend it, too.
currently reading This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summer. It's a good quick YA read. Started it today or late last night and I'm almost done it.
Currently reading The Good Woman by Jane Porter. I really enjoy it so far- I've never read anything by her but I'm very impressed and captivated!

Dorian Gray was a happy surprise. I thought ahh I'll read it, becasue it's a classic and thats what a good reader should do...but I was hooked right from the first page. I second your recommendation. :)
@Beth I couldn't put down the book. I love Oscar Wilde's stupendous style and the lucid flow if his prose.
