I just finished reading The Great Gatsby as well as watched the movie recently. I was amazed at how close the movie followed the book. If you haven't read it already I suggest it. fantastic book.

I just picked up Life, Animated yesterday and haven't been able to put it down. It's the bittersweet story of a journalist and his wife who find out that their youngest son has a rare form of autism. He learns to communicate with them by memorizing large portions of Disney movies and expressing his thoughts, feelings, and needs through other characters and scenes. Beautifully written and told.
im currently reading les miserables by victor hugo. i've always wanted to read it n i finally found it. im still in the beginning and all i can say that.... its really weirdly detailed and u feel like im living in it. the feeling is quite...different. its an interesting book
I just finished Breed of Innocence
and The Lost Hero
. Both were good books for YA and middle school, but I didn't love either one. I'm starting Runner
and Wool Omnibus (Silo, #1)
tomorrow.
I just started this. I generally hate reading a series out of order but you have to read what you get when it comes in from the library. No fun trying to wait. Can take forever. I just adore vampire books. I just finished reading:
,
, and
. If you can't tell, I adore Manga. Kind of been a plus that I have been ill, kind of not. I've been able to read more. ha ha
Been meaning to read Graceling for months and finally got round to it. I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would :)
Katie.g - I thought the same thing with Graceling. I read it because someone recommended it to me. Somehow, I thought it would just be ok, but I really liked it a lot. Much better than I expected.
@Kristie. I thought it would just be ok / mediocre too but I've seen quite a few people on this site say how good it was so I finally gave in. I'm glad I did.
Kristie wrote: "Loved the Legend series too. You should try it Katie.g. :)"Haha I will try to get round to it soon!
I'm reading The Golem and the Jinni and The Fountains of Paradise. They have both grabbed me from page 1 - this is whyI should read one book at a time, because at any given time I can hardly pick which to read!

I'm now reading the third hill north of town. I won it in a giveaway on goodreads. And I'm really enjoying it.It's so different from anything I've read. I thought it was going to be something different, but I am very pleased with the direction of the story.
I am reading and loving 2076:A Revolutionary Tale by Stephen Mitchell. It's a departure from my usual choices but has me wanting more. It is science fiction - dystopian literature - story of a very different (fortunately) America from the one in which we live.
The Inverted World, a novel by Christopher Priest, was first published in 1974.Imagine a city that is constantly being physically moved forward, not by magic or advanced technology, but by being physically pulled by an elite corps of its inhabitants.
Jessica wrote: "in the middle of The Girl Who Played with Fire here i go... anyway the 1st book i think is better! :P"I'd be curious to hear what you think. I just finished the 1st one and just realized I have the 3rd but not the 2nd.
Currently reading Death Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Not a fan of the show (only made it through 3 or 4 episodes) but heard the books were better. It's ok so far I guess.
At the moment I'm now reading The Mark of the Dragonfly by Jaleigh Johnson. It's totally AWESOME!!!!!! If you like fantasy and/or action/adventure, then I totally recommend this book for you. :)
I just started reading
by JJ Abrams Doug Dorst. It's an epistolary novel. Has anyone read this? :) It would be awesome if I can discuss it with someone!
Finished two books in the last two days and deciding on my next book. I think I may reread a cherished novel like The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher or Evergreen by Belva Plain.

Buddy read requests thread is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I'm currently reading Enders Game! I recommend it to anyone who loves sci-fi. I'm also reading Pride and Prejudice (yes, for fun, not for a school assignment). It's actually really good, if you can get past all the fancy language. Totally recommend it.
Currently reading "where the winds lead" which is actually a memoir a friend from high school wrote. It is pretty accurate however it hurt a little bit when he stated he really didn't have friends in high school. We sat together and ate lunch everyday together...I considered him a very close friend. But it is a story of a boat person from Vietnam coming to America with only the clothes on his back and ending up making it to Harvard and becoming a doctor. I strongly recommend the book.

Thanks Kristie. I hope you don't mind that I wrote that. I just wanted to direct the poster to proper thread in this group.
Currently reading A Clockwork Orange. A science-fiction dystopian classic which, I think, should be read by every modern youth.
I'm currently reading Opal. I really like it alot so I would recommend it but just remember to keep with it tho because there is a part where I wanted to drop it but overall its good.
I've just finished Tragically Flawed - A.M. Hargrove. Now I am about to read Tragic Desires - A.M. Hargrove.
I'm currently reading The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss I like it very much but it's hugggge!
Name of the Wind is great but yes, it does take a while to read. The sequel is 1000 pages long. Hope the author releases the third book soon :)
I just finished 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zuzak. AMAZING! Definitely my favourite book at the moment.
Nicoleta wrote: "I'm currently reading The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss I like it very much but it's hugggge!"I've heard great things about that book. I am planning to listen to it over the summer. The audio version is 28 hours!
Just finished Diamond Girl and Love Plus One by Andrea Smith. Both were very good, starting on the 3rd in the series tonight, can't wait to get started.
LisaaReads wrote: "I am currently reading Sea of Tranquility. I would definitely recommend Archer's Voice, When it Rains, and the Edge of Never. I think they each have a beautiful story and something to take away fro..."I read Sea of Tranquility, and Edge of Never and Loved them!
I'm currently reading Under Magnolia: A Southern Memoir. I'm surprised that I am enjoying it since I didn't like Under the Tuscan Sun. Oh yeah and it's an actual book. It's hard to get used to again.
I just finished Runner
by Patrick Lee. I loved it. I think it was just what I needed. It was a thriller with a bit of a mystery aspect to it. The writing was very good, as was the narration. I couldn't wait to get back to it when I wasn't listening. If you're looking for an interesting thriller that is not gory, I would recommend this.
Im currently reading
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments : Book One) by Cassandra Clare. I have heard so many people rave about this series. Figured I should give it a try.
Elizabeth wrote: "Im currently reading

Still getting use to Jace being played by Jamie Campbell Bower, but he fit the character better than I had thought he would.
