Luke - How exactly was he a hero?

Spiderman made PLENTY of mistakes during his career (which I won't detail in honor of the new movie franchise). Green Arrow neglected Speedy enough that his feelings of abandonment drove him to heroin. Batman has Jason Todd on his conscience, enough said.
Heroes make mistakes. It happens. What makes them heroes is that they do the right thing when we need them to.

Lol ikr! even though i was part of it .....

rofl.
If you'll remember, it could have been Thalia or Annabeth. Luke, like Annabeth, had great hubris; he believed he could do what nobody did before him and make a world he and all other demigods would like. That plan in itself was a good plan, but it was the way that Luke went about it that corrupted him. But he gave up his life after he realized what he had done, and that's what makes him a hero.

Catherine has a good point though, heroes in Greek mythology don't exactly do heroic things...
