Jayme I just left North Carolina with A Land More Kind Than Home (my review) and will eventually make my way to Tennessee with A Death in the Family, but first I'm heading to Iraq with Fobbit and will study prehistoric man with Last Ape Standing: The Seven-Million-Year Story of How and Why We Survived. Happy Reading Everyone.

I just fled from the crazy people in Missouri by zipping through a 19-hour audiobook of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. If you only read one thriller this year, this is a good option! Goodness. My review is here, no spoilers though. :)

Stacy McDaniel I just left Alabama with To Kill a Mockingbird I absolutely Loved it. Here is my review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Barbarac (bcb72) | 64 comments I just left Michigan with Big Ray. I was hesitating about whether to review it because even though I loved the story and the writing style, it was very disturbing. I gave it 4 stars. And here's my very short review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

message 55: by Louise (new)

Louise | 89 comments I just spent a few sunny but serious days in Arizona reading Sunset Over Chocolate Mountains
My review is here : http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Suzanne I loved, loved, loved my visit to Kansas with Doc! I think Mary Doria Russell has earned her place among my favorite authors! My review is here: http://coldread.wordpress.com/2013/02...

Great review. I can't wait to read it for my Kansas selection.

Thanks, Jayme! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the book once you've read it!

Just left Seattle (and Antarctica!) with Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. My review is here!. I read this because it was on the 2013 Tournament of Books list, but found it to be so specifically set in Seattle, decided to count it for this challenge!

message 60: by Debbie (Doc) (new)

Debbie (Doc) I just left Oregon with If I Stay. This was a very easy read and one that I had to complete for a team challenge. Next stop, Mississippi.

My review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

message 61: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne Enjoyed my stay in New Hampshire with Jodi Picoult's gripping novel House Rules. My review is here: http://coldread.wordpress.com/2013/02...

Barbarac (bcb72) | 64 comments I tried NY with Nobody's Fool and couldn't make it. My library loan was about to expire and I didn't know if I could take such slowness anymore...maybe at a different point in my life? I didn't hate it, it just put me to sleep. So I watched the movie instead...I still love Paul Newman. My review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I always feels bad when I can't finish a book, but really we shouldn't beat ourselves up. We read because we love to read. If we don't love what we're reading, we should move on...

message 64: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne I just left New York with Invisible Man. This book does not really offer a sense of place. It's more of an intellectual novel about racism in America. My review is here: http://coldread.wordpress.com/2013/02...

message 65: by Stacy (new)

Stacy McDaniel Just left Florida with Their Eyes Were Watching GodIt was good but not going to review this one.

Beth (eparks4232) | 49 comments Colorado is a very scary place to visit with Stephen King is all I have to say. Ok, really I said more about The Shining in my review.

message 67: by Rach (new)

Rach (rachlovestv) | 11 comments It's been a slow start for me so far - I seem to be just reading books set either in a non-specific setting or internationally.

I did make it to California, though! Last month I read The Age of Miracles, and you can read my review here.

Beth (eparks4232) | 49 comments I've been to PA with Tina Fey in Bossypants. The long version of my review is http://bethslistlove.wordpress.com/20...

Suzanne Happy to leave West Virginia with yet another book I didn't enjoy. It seems like every time I get an award winner, it's a coin toss as to whether I will like it! My review is here: http://coldread.wordpress.com/2013/03...

I spent a quick evening with the newlyweds in Raney by Clyde Edgerton. It is a good (if uncomfortable) of the tensions in small-town North Carolina in the period between WW2 and the civil rights movement, but more than that, it is a capture of a new marriage. My review is here.

Rach (rachlovestv) | 11 comments I just read Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple for Washington. I loved it! If you're still looking for a Washington book, I highly recommend it! I'm from Seattle, and this is the best book I've read set in the area (in my opinion, of course). You can see my review here!

message 72: by Jayme (last edited Mar 06, 2013 04:22AM) (new)

Jayme I read two quick books for South Carolina The Kingdom and The Prophet My reviews are here and here. I'm still in Tennessee with A Death in the Family.

I read that and enjoyed it too! The other day I was watching Bunheads, the latest show from Gilmore Girls creators (I don't recommend it actually, the magic of GG is missing although they try to force it with overly rapid clever dialogue)... but anyway the character played by Sutton Foster brought Where'd You Go Bernadette with her to an audition. I was excited. :)

Jayme I finally finished A Death in the Family my review for Tennessee- what an incredibly sad book. Heading to D.C. with Five Chiefs: A Supreme Court Memoir

Stacy McDaniel I'm in Georgia with Little Sacrifices

Just left Buford, Mississippi with Freeman by Leonard Pitts, Jr. My review is here. A post-Civil War love story that doesn't shy away from the violence and tension in the south.

message 78: by Debbie (Doc) (last edited Mar 14, 2013 03:28AM) (new)

Debbie (Doc) I just left Massachusetts with Little Women. My review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/....

I keep going back and forth between the US and country reads and just can't seem to leave Europe. Needless to say, I am extremely behind with my tour of the states.

message 79: by Beth (new)

Beth (eparks4232) | 49 comments I'm on a quick race around the US to try to catch up. I've done Louisiana Fever Dream, Georgia Red Mist, and Minnesota Wicked Prey. I'll probably stay on the crime fiction thing for another state or two to keep up the pace. My very cursory review of these three is at http://bethslistlove.wordpress.com/20...

message 80: by Beth (new)

Beth (eparks4232) | 49 comments Another quicky for MA: Sixkill by Robert B. Parker. My brief comments: http://bethslistlove.wordpress.com/20...

message 81: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne My Rhode Island pick, I, Roger Williams: A Novel, turned out to take place mostly in England, but was an excellent work of historical fiction, nonetheless.
My review is here: http://coldread.wordpress.com/2013/03...

Suzanne Sad to leave the cottage in Maine with Leeway Cottage. Not only was there a great story here, but I loved the Danish World War II history as well! My review is here:

message 92: by Michael (new)

Michael (micky74007) I'm getting started a bit late here, so I hope you won't mind a quick recap of where I've been. First of all, I am taking a slow walk from Seattle to Key West with Richard Paul EvansThe Walk, book:Miles to Go|8720415], and The Road to Grace.
Been to NYC with Walking Home
and Florida with Their Eyes Were Watching God

message 93: by Stacy (new)

Stacy McDaniel Left Georgia with Little Sacrifices. It was a good book. It probably would have been better had I spent a little more quality time with it. So I'm not going to review it right now.

message 94: by Debbie (Doc) (new)

Debbie (Doc) I just left rural Mississippi with Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter. My review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

message 95: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne I finished another great work of historical fiction with Rise to Rebellion: A Novel of the American Revolution. I used it as my Delaware book, but really that's a stretch. It mostly takes place in Massachusetts, with parts of it in Pennsylvania. Fantastic novel, nonetheless. My review is here:

Laurel (goodreadscomboddy_l) | 39 comments Hello, all. I just finished Highball Exit by Phyllis Smallman , so I am leaving Florida, and moving on to Louisiana to read one of my favourite authors, James Lee Burke' s Crusader's Cross (Dave Robicheaux, #14) by James Lee Burke .

My review is in the normal place, where reviews come up beneath the book in the data base. I do not know how to make the link so that my reviews is linked to here. I have asked Jenny for help, so my apologies, until I learn how to do that. You can find my review if you simply look up the book.
