It is a great show, isn't it? Too bad there's only one episode left for this season. I love Homeland, too.

My husband and I love the show Justified, also. It's one of those series that doesn't falter as the seasons go on. Glad to read this morning that there will be a season five starting next January.

Definitely love Dexter. I'm going to be sorry to see it end after this next season.

Susan from MD | 58 comments Has anyone been watching Bates Motel? It's been really interesting - a teenage Norman Bates and his mother move to the motel that his mom bought after his father died in an, er, accident. The premise is sort of setting up how Norman becomes Psycho!Norman.

message 63: by Ed (new)

Ed (oct1647) "Breaking Bad" is, in my humble opinion, the best series I've ever seen based on the incredible originality of the story lines and superb acting by a talented cast. It's quite simply extraordinary! I've just concluded Season #4 and now rate it higher that "Six Feet Under" which I always considered to be the best series I had seen until 'Breaking Bad".

message 64: by Shirley (new)

Shirley (shirleythekindlereader) Netflix has me watching entire series from start to finish and no commercials. Also no hiatus... what is going on this season?

Prison Break is so good and not much violence. 80 episodes.

I love Prison Break! I just started the final season, season 4. Always keeps me on the edge of my seat.

Completely agree. And since Albuquerque is my home town it's extra interesting. They really nail the nuances likes Blake's Lotaburger drink cups and Creamland dairy milk containers.

Linda (beaulieulinda117gmailcom) | 1742 comments My husband and I bought the first 4 seasons of Sons of Anarchy. We both love that show.

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9976 comments I like most of the series that have already been mentioned. If you're looking for something a little different you might try "Annika Bengtzon" on Netflix. Annika is a reporter who manages to get herself involved in a lot of criminal investigation. I found the series quite addictive.

Ctgt | 130 comments We just watched the first episode of The Bletchley Circle. It's based in England in the 1950's and tells the story of four women who worked as code breakers in Bletchley Park during the war, returned to their lives after the war and reunite to track down a serial killer. My wife and I really enjoyed it.

Bill My wife and I also enjoyed The Bletchley Circle very much. It was such a nice surprise to find it on PBS, surely wasn't advertised very much.

You're right Bill. I didn't hear about it until later in the week. We're ready for tonight, although, Sunday night is tough for us. Call the Midwife, Game of Thrones, The Borgias, Vikings and now Bletchley Circle. Dvr is working overtime Sunday nights.

message 75: by Laurie (new)

Laurie (tolepainter) | 52 comments I only watch TV in the evenings, daytime is for reading, painting and computer work. I love The Mentalist, Castle and Criminal Minds plus CSI. I never miss The Big Bang, love the show. Other than that I watch true crime, don't know what I'd do without my I.D channel. My hubby tells everyone I watch so many murder shows he sleeps with one-eye open lol.

message 76: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine (saanichlori) I recorded Bletchley Circle last night, and I saw that it's the 2nd to last of the first series. Do I need to see them all to understand the storyline or is each episode a stand-alone?

message 77: by Jan C (new)

Jan C (woeisme) | 39173 comments No, it isn't a standalone. It was a continuation of the week before. That'disappointing to hear there are only three episodes. But, hopefully, there will be more than one season. Not like Zen where there were just three episodes and only one season.

Kalena, Who hasn't been whisked away by downton? Enjoy. Maggie Smith !!!!! Such a fantastic actress
/lady/actor. Her delivery of her one lines are class.

My brother and sister-in-law stayed up til 5am watching the first series back to back a few years ago.

Another good series is The Paradise

MeLani (pesto) | 7 comments I have been going through quite a few series on Netflix. These have been the best that I have seen:
Wire In The Blood, Rebus, Breaking Bad, A Touch of Frost, Taggert, Touching Evil, Doc Martin, Cracker, Blue Murder. I also enjoy several foreign mysteries, but can only watch when my eyes are up to viewing the subtitles. (Wallender, Dragon Tattoo Trilogy, The Protectors)

For those who mentioned Justified on Netflix. I don't see it listed as a streaming option. Did you request the DVD? Thank you

I watched Justified on FX but I have suggested it to my parents, who have the streaming Netflix but not the dvd Netflix. They say they can't get it streaming. I think you would only be able to get the dvd.

You're welcome. I wished Netflix did things the way they used to when you could see whether a dvd also had the option of streaming. Now they are two separate things.

I just finished the last episode of this short series last night. So good. I hope they bring it back for another season. A lot of questions left hanging at the end. So much room for more story to be played out. Great cast, too.

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

I just watched the finale for Bates Motel yesterday and really liked the show. I don't know who is more mentally unstable, Norman or his mother Norma. Actually, most people in the town have some sort of issue. Hard to tell the difference between good and evil.

Kathy (readr4ever) | 236 comments Eyehavenofilter wrote: "I just got hooked on the BBC series The Bletchley Circle, has anyone else discovered this its wonderful!"

I watched the first one in the Bletchly Circle series and loved it, but I missed when the next ones were on. I looked it up on Amazon and plan on ordering the DVDs, since it's only $24 for the first season.

I seem to gravitate towards British/PBS series. I love Doc Martin, and I'm looking forward to another season of it this year, but I don't know when it's supposed to come out. Also enjoy Inspector Lewis. On the American side of the pond, I love Castle and Rizzoli & Isles.

I was not liking Doc Martin very much. However, this afternoon I saw the first episode and I did enjoy it. So I may like it more now that I know its origin.

If any of you think that is disturbing, so am I.

I do think he is very creepy, but appears to be genuinely nice. I can easily see where he would fool people.
