Another OC CR here, Maria -- welcome to the best online group going -- a little prejucie showing maybe but hey - this is a great group.

Dottie - This is an active group and I like that. I was looking at the photos and CR has such a history, I wish I knew about Goodreads years ago, and joined CR then. I’ve also been looking at CR’s past reads and you guys have read some good stuff. I’ve also added a lot of the films to my Netflix queue that folks have mentioned here. I have a lot of catching up to do. :-) ~ Marie

Marie, have you seen our really old archives?

WOW, Sherry – I got really excited looking through the archive (I’ve only read a handful of the books, and I was thrilled to see The Master and Margarita). I saw a lot of books I’ve always wanted to read – and you all have read such a broad range of books, and that’s what I strive for. But then I got really depressed; the list shows how far behind I am in my reading.

Keep reading, you will forever be adding new books to read. What I like about GR and the Constant Reader group, you can usually find someone to discuss the book with.

Hee hee , Robert , I live near Mile Square.

When hubby first got his pilot's license Mile Square was a little airport -- I've flown in there with him in the old days. Now that he's flying again after a couple of decades off, I am not brave enough to be a passenger. We have also visited the place since it became a park.

I don't know about Mile Square and the Marine helicopters but I'll bet Jim knows and yes, I've logged time in the passenger seat to Meadow Lark and many other small airports around the OC over the early years of our marriage. Now I let jim have the airplane scene to himself and I do my own thing -- mostly books at the moment.

Thanks, Robert - I’m near South Coast Plaza. My family used to live on LTA military base. I was bussed to school in Irvine, went to church in Tustin (St. Cecilia), and my family went to the commissary on El Toro base. And I've walked Miles Square Park many a time. :)

Hello I'm Lee. I live in South West England in a triangular house with my cat (see photo) and my husband. I am addicted to reading and acquiring books and don't believe I will ever manage to read all the books I own. Apart from reading, I enjoy swimming, travelling by Tandem bike and drinking rose scented tea. I own, but never play, a ukelele
Looking at the books you have read I could see a good few that are on my to read shelf and a good few others to be added to my to read shelf!
Looking forward to joining in with your discussions.

Hello I'm Sophie. I'm from Wales in the UK and love finding, buying and reading books! I have always been an avid reader (and have the English Lit degree to prove it:)) but have had a few months off due to totally losing my concentrating skills whilst pregnant. Now it's coming back I want to dive back in to reading but need a little guidance with where to start.
I am currently doing a re-read of Catch-22 to get myself back in the swing with a favourite novel. This is my first time posting on Goodreads despite being a member for a while so am excited to join in discussions with everyone and maybe get a few recommendations along the way!

You will find our recent Catch-22 discussion if you click on the Classics Corner thread here on Constant Reader. This is the direct link:

The discussions are never really closed and we would love your input. This seems like such a quintessentially American novel. Since you are Welsh, I am particularly interested in what appeals to you about this book.

Hi, Lynn! I'm actually now in Vinton, Iowa, about 50 miles south-ish of Waterloo. I'm the editor of the two weekly newspapers here. If you are so close, we should definitely have a meetup soon!

Hello again Sherry, Ann and Ruth! Oh how I have missed this wonderful group! I'm finally getting a chance to do some real reading for pleasure again. Headed out to Denver, Colorado, later this week and would love some recommendations for books on CD that I could listen to along the way - entertaining, compelling stories, but nothing that requires too much serious attention.

Two audiobooks I really enjoyed recently are The Good House and Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead.
